they specifically mention working with Xbox to address console problems and optimization

At this moment Bethesda has no credibility with me. I honestly don’t care about reading what they say, as I won’t believe what they say. I will need a neutral 3rd party evaluation to take any promises about Starfield seriously.

I can just about accept Roman numerals on an analogue clock face, but they have no place anywhere else.

Lol idk, reading the Star Wars film posters as "Episode 4: A New Hope" doesn't look right to me.

Having the posters read anything but just "Star Wars" doesn't look right. 😛

Yes Wormie I understand but why you overlooking the most  important and influential  3rd party evaluation that the Internet has confirmed,  through numerous metrics, has the most credibility and influence ?

Didnt you know the " BruceVC this game is going to be excellent " analysis has been made several times. Its science and we all respect science and believe in science

not sure why would anyone even waste time try to run bethesda game on console at launch

how did they expect things to end up

Its the huge casual gamer  console market mostly, they have huge buying power. They not hardcore gamers like us but they make up a significant and important part of the customer base

If it would cost me actual money I'd obviously wait, but there's no reason to do so for anyone who has Game Pass.

I suppose the only concern then is whether there are any modding restrictions on the Game Pass version of the game, like how their version of Skyrim doesn't support SKSE.

Don't the PC versions of GamePass games stream from the cloud? How would you even mod that?

Nope, all of them are just regular downloads, same as if you bought them from the Microsoft Store. Early on, the games were generally provided as UWP apps, which were closed-off to modding but were nonetheless still full local downloads. However these days they're generally just standard Win32 apps and in most cases can be modded in the standard way. Bethesda games on Game Pass can be modded with any mod that does not have a dependency on the Script Extender.

Cloud gaming is technically a separate service they provide, but is effectively just an inclusion if you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. I've been subbed to Game Pass for years but have yet to try anything on xCloud.

But there are much less mods for Consoles and the mods dont have the same complexity or support and updates from the modding community. And its for obvious reasons like the whole SKSE

The Dark Urge option for BG3 has  got huge potential and some exciting components like " You’ll be guided by Sceleritas Fel, your loyal but depraved servant who wants you to fulfil your darkest desires – but will you listen?"

I am seriously considering this

Sorry, Bruce, but I consider Dark Urge to be the absolute worst thing (among many bad things) Larian has managed to come up with in that game. It is the psychopath option in the game, with the "you can resist it if you want" claim being a pathetic attempt to spin what it really is.

I played the Broken Roads demo recently and, if nothing else, the alignment system in that game is potentially superior to the D&D Brady Bunch grid. It has a moral compass with 4 quadrants: Humanist, Utilitarian, Nihilist, and Machiavellian. You have an arc, like a view cone, that represents your alignment and it's not confined to any single quadrant.

jpeg

If you make a decision that deviates from your current alignment then the cone will rotate. If you keep making choices that align with your current alignment then the cone narrows but grows longer. Those circles are dialogue abilities you can use if they are fully within your alignment cone. Jury is out on how well it will work over the course of a full game, but it seems to better represent how people think and act than the law chaos good evil Brady Bunch grid.

I heard Larian's TikTok account was banned because of some adult content related to romance. And that they showed a scene with a bear. Could it be the same case?🤔

Yes. They looked at a Druid and thought “could you have sex with it when it’s in bear form?” 🙈 Truly, creativity worthy of one of those awful comic strips Facebook keeps pushing on me. I wonder if it is a result of me spending too much time on Larian’s forums…

The Panel from Hell has drained any enthusiasm I have build up after months of not playing the game. My gripes with the title seem to be left predictably left untouched, and difficult mode seems to just crank to 11 Larian’s cheese mechanics.

The last origin turned out to be just that, and the idea itself sounds actually quite interesting, but that leaves our party options really underwhelming. I assumed they were holding off on a real banger. They even created a whole we based mini game (blood in baldurs gate) just to build up to the last origin, that lacks the main component that makes origins interesting to me (aka. companions).

At least choice and reactivity looks impressive even though it’s not quite my cup of tea. The choices are so extremely cruel and illogical that I can’t imagine even considering most of them - at least here they keep BioWare legacy alive.

Come on Wormie, lets be fair. That bear sex scene is a tiny, optional part of the overall game with the gay Vampire as far as I remember. It really shouldn't be  seen as a reflection of the other features like the monk class and other 2 new races and the character customization looks very impressive?
