It still applies to character models.

How much imagination do you usually engage for those?

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

I'm not in to zombie games either, although The Last Stand: Aftermath looks interesting, I am considering getting it. Specifically for Dying Light, I watched some streams of it and it's not my type of game, even if we take the zombies out of the equation.

Nevermind... different game... can I delete this message?

I never really understood the problem... as far as I know it doesn't effect the game.  It's a shameless money grab... but who cares if someone wants to waste their money

I don't have time for Wheel of Time.

I have to watch serious shows. Like Die Rosenheim-Cops 😛

It's really too bad that Joseph Hannesschläger died. :(

When it comes to imagination, it's all subjective, but rule of thumb was always that there should be immersion, not realism.

One of points to have characters looking realistic is that you can customize them after your liking, if there's no customization, but realism in looks, then you want movie quality game. And you don't play a movie, movie plays for you, which is reason why realistic looking games never appeal to me, but popularity is clear with those.

I would simply chose a game where I can get immersive feeling, like Ghost of a Tale over Call of Duty, but obviously movie type of games made the most money.

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

its always mind blowing for me, I don't know single person who spend money on mobile games, maybe with exception of world of tanks

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

It's a numbers game. Consider the proportion of people that have phones vs the people that have PC/Consoles.

I'm guessing most people wouldn't tell you if they do that, because they know you'd call them out on it. :p

Also, children. I can see it on my nephews who are playing these stupid flashy mobile games and they want skins and whatnot. We look at it and see how bs it is, but they don't know better. And it's hard to teach them if all their classmates are doing this crap.

You should see the whales in a mobile game I play called Star Trek Fleet Command. They have literally spent thousands / 10's of thousands to reach the highest levels.

As @Gfted1 said, mobile gaming is only about whales, I am playing one mobile game, but for free it took me about two years to get to the state, where I can play at any time, without fear of going out of energy, but I have to be very patient if I need anything made in the game. Yes the game if pretty much piece of ****, but I have nothing better to do, when I am alone on a hotel during a business trip. But every time, I open the market place I am just eyerolling, when I see the prices... Som packages are more than 100 Euros, and if you want to end up at top 10 at a weekly event, you have to buy dozens of these packages. So no wonder, you do not know anyone from your surrounding, who is buying mobile stuff, I knew only two people. All these companies need is 100 people, which spend 500+ EUR on their game per week, and they are swimming in cash. Because 3-5 craziest of them are spending many thousands per week...

I know a guy who spent 40k on that Arnold Schwarzenegger mobile game.

Dude what the Hell.

I don't have lots of money and he made all that money because there's a fishing surplus in my area and he jumped right on it.  Back breaking work that's not even worth all that cash imo considering the long term damage it does to your body.
