Grand Theft Auto 'cheats' homes raided

The publisher of video game Grand Theft Auto V has been granted the right to search the homes of five people accused of making cheat software.

The court order allowed Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, to search two properties in Melbourne, Australia, for evidence related to a cheat known as Infamous.

The Australian federal court has also frozen the assets of the five, who have not yet filed a defence.

Well those cheats allow people to not have to buy Shark cards,  right ?

Well just being snarky, GTA Online is an abomination.  Rockstar was asking for cheaters to rum rampant based on the way the MP game works.

You can expect the same for RDR2 Online.

No idea, but the courts are allowing the video game people to search someone's house. That's what seems weird to me.

1) They didn't file a defence

2) It's Australia

2a) Most of the Australian establishment doesn't know how technology or the intertubes work except what they're told by corporate consultants

2b) A fair bit of the Australian establishment makes the stereotypical US conservative southerner look like Karl Marx economically and RuPaul socially

3) They didn't file a defence

Corporations' usual approach is to use find the place they have maximum legal leverage and has ill considered laws (often written by said corps) which allows both precedence to be established and has chilling effect on those with better protections.

I'm confused as to how they can have nothing to work on in game dev. In my experience, there is always something to work on.

Other than that, I'm very much against doing overtime for the sake of it. Hell, I'm even against overtime in general if it isn't really justified. Also I absolutely loath the "but the bosses do 100 hour weeks as well!"-argument, because the generic company grunts salary and amenities probably don't compare at all to that of the bosses.

This.

Where I work the regular work gets paid 11$ an hour while the managers and up get paid $25-$40 an hour and constantly work over 40 hours each week.

That wasn't very convincing, are you sure you been investing in Charisma?

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Just do what I did and dump wisdom and invest in charisma. It actually works like a charm, just look at everyone in Hollywood.

lol, Red Dead Redemption 2 needs 150gb space on the PS4, not just 100gb. Did they forgot about file compression?

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

it looks pretty stupid if you ask me...

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Any time I get to play a Duck-related character, I smile wryly.

That game, amazingly enough, is based on the Swedish pnp RPG Mutant, a game that I ran during the late 80's as a GM, like three campaigns. It's a bit like Gamma World, but quirkier and more intimate. It's a really good game. I'm just amazed that it will become a CRPG!

That's why one of the guys has that T-shirt that says "Äventyrsspel", meaning Adventure Games - the publisher for Mutant back in the day. A friend of mine was one of the guys devising the machines and the weapons in the game. Small world.

I wish someone would made the game based on Mutant Chronicles/Doomtrooper PnPs. I loved the universe, and art in the books/cards. IIRC, They were also Swedish RPGs.
