  1. The reverse, actually - load times are a bit slow, but in general its stability and smoothness is far above that of PoE1.
  2. It'd be cool. Not exactly at the top of my priority list, but it would be cool.
  3. The point isn't really that particular case (and yes, Swift is weak). Frenzy, or Disciplined Blows, or any of a whole bunch of other cases are all ways the others could apply. It's that you should probably need more than one low-PL ability to reach a tier 3 inspiration.
  4. You don't actually need to use stealth to play a rogue, fwiw. You can absolutely function as a shifty combat debuffer.
  5. So I found this in another thread: https://wiki.fireundubh.com/deadfire/dialogue-options It doesn't say anything about what the responses are, but it is a handy-dandy reference for what comes up in dialogue checks and NPC reactions.
  6. It's a fun idea, but there would be logistical problems with implementation, if only because ogres have bigger selection circles than kith. I guarantee you there's an area in the game where it would become a problem.
  7. Making one power stronger - a power that comes late and is intrinsically mediocre - will not fix ciphers. Ciphers start having problems as early as 2nd level.
  8. Is it? I'm not seeing it in the patch notes. The patch notes are very clearly incomplete, and fail to mention bug fixes that we know, for a fact, were implemented even in the beta patch. In general, they've only bothered to mention adjustments and rebalancing. I find it a bit frustrating.
  9. Realistically, you will never run out of priest resources before the point when you would run out of Health. The main reason a priest runs out of spell slots past level 5 is the need to drop Prayer spells in an area where major afflictions are common. With 6 priests, that just isn't going to happen. Also vessels will just sort of explode whenever they come near you.
  10. Definitely viable. On the cipher side, you're going to mostly be there for Soul Annihilation, and the damage boosts so don't worry too much about grabbing powers in general (a lot of cipher powers are pretty lackluster). Whisper of Treason is a pretty important lifeline at early levels, so I suggest picking that up for your 1st-level power and then mostly just going for passives and the occasional self-buff. Draining Whip is probably worth more to you than Biting Whip, and Greater Focus is not a bad choice for a Soul Blade either. Borrowed Instinct is pretty amazing, when you can finally pick it up. As for rogue: you get a lot of strong full attacks, so dual-wield is a good way to go (although, take note, it's not so good for Soul Annihilation). Make sure to grab Escape, as it'll do a lot for your defenses.
  11. They should make the Nature Godlike ears more animal-like, as it has been in the first Pillars. On that note, it'd be cool if they gave Godlike with Orlan bodies ears to match.
  12. Pure-class the casters, other than Ciphers who suck. Multi for the rest.
  13. Look under backups and goodies. All of your extras should be available there.
  14. Oh, another one: in Port Maje, folks on the street will wonder if a Wood Elf is an animancer. I've definitely seen that for non-Pale Elves. Coastal Aumaua, even, iirc.
  15. My poor death godlike got really cranky at poor Pallegina in the first game... so much so that she flat out refused to join her in Deadfire lol. In her opinion it went like this; PC: death godlike covered I blistering scale things all over her face. Durance: he’s well... Durance. Ugliest mug that was never born godlike. Hiravias; Orlan with the highest libido this side of the Deadfire, but is an outcast with a forbidden spirit form, and had half his face ripped off... And poor poor Pallegina, pretty feathers, flawless skin, stable job, relatively well respected by most people in town... the ability to leave the idiots that were picking on her and walk into any military outfit she likes... Yes, poor Pallegina... Don't forget Pallegina's prettiness is all due to Giacolo's severing of her bell thingy. Before he did that, she had a lot more feathers and a more beaklike nose. She was depressed enough about it (suicidal at 12!) to basically undergo a procedure that might have killed her. Also, she's only in her particular paladin order because they don't recognize her as having any gender at all - the paladin order usually only accepts men. Sure it's not as bad as some others now, but I still say it's awful enough. People also have complexes about different things. Externally, all you see are a person's actions and achievements; internally, a person can only see themselves contextualized by their history. Pallegina comes across as an attractive, confident, educated, physically powerful person, chosen at birth by the gods and gifted by fortune with status and purpose in life. But from Pallegina's own perspective, being Godlike has made her different from all those around her, denied her parental love or legal recognition of her gender, caused her to be sold to an organization where she's had to fight every step of the way for recognition, and generally forced her into a liminal existence where her achievements are recognized but her intrinsic personhood is denied. We see Pallegina at her peak, whereas she will always remember who she was at her lowest point, and why she was there in the first place. (Hint: the reason is Hylea.)
  16. I agree, with one proviso: the same source of Inspiration shouldn't stack. If it did, and 1st level monk could immediately jump to Swift for 3 power, for instance. I think it'd be okay allowing two different sources to stack, however.
  17. This might be just what you're looking for. It's a very cool trickster build, and will work fabulously as an Orlan.
  18. The big NPC reactions I've noticed are for Aumaua - in a nice touch, the two types of Aumaua get separate reactions, and there are even special reactions for Island Aumaua from Deadfire and for Coastal Aumaua from Rauatai. What else is prominent in-game?
  19. There was no need to nerf anything shifter related. They aren't very strong. The scaling of their shifted weapons doesn't keep up with the gear bonuses you are sacrificing while shifted, and nerfing wildstrike just further increases the gap. I really enjoyed playing a shift-focused druid in PoE1, but they don't really feel worth it in Deadfire. There are so many better options for a melee-focused character. And the weird thing is, it took them a while to get shapeshifting to a good place in PoE1. Early on, it wasn't very good, and it was only in later builds that they managed to give druids a really distinct feel of being a strong CC/AoE caster who could protect the back line or support the front line when things got hairy. It's very strange that, having gotten it so very right, they'd move away from that.
  20. Would it be possible to change a weapon's actual base type, without changing its model, in the same way? For instance, turning Modwyr into a rapier?
  21. That will be the ending of PoE3. You will attempt to become a god and take over the throne of the now dead god Eothas. But, then, a godlike and his irrepressible little sister, along with their small adventuring party, will come in, wipe out all of your minions and kill you in an epic battle that takes place in four distinct phases. Sad story, that. Naming my next character Melissan, now.
