  1. I completely agree with this, and as such I'd much prefer partial VO (the amount varying depending on the importance of the dialogue). I also agree with Gromnir's point about the money being better spent elsewhere.
  2. How about this: your character has learnt the truth behind the creation of, what the kith call, gods. Not believing in them would indeed be irrational, however are they really gods? What really sets them apart from simply being just another (admittedly extremely powerful) creature like the dragons and arch mages that already inhabit Eora. In particular there's really no reason your character needs to worship them, or even hold them in high regard. However just like any other powerful entity your character might want to temporarily ally himself with them, make use of their power while it serves his purposes.
  3. I heard that there will be unlockable nude skins of varying rarity, and an market in which we can trade them for real world money. I got one an going to make a lot of money trading rare nude skins.
  4. Durance has Perception 9. Not a big difference from 10 for a class that, as you mention, can boost Accuracy massively.
  5. It really depends on what the higher level abilities look like. I'm a big sucker for flashy abilities so if there's something really appealing at power level 8 or 9 I might very well go single class.
  6. I've got next to no experience with the Witcher. For whatever reason the setting just never appealed to me so I've never gotten into it. Hard to say regarding american accents. I can certainly hear differences but I couldn't place most accents. I wonder actually, can most Americans identify where various American accents are from? It's a pretty huge country and I'd guess a lot of Americans only ever visit a tiny fraction of it.
  7. I just noticed that I misread your post and that you said "all [...] but Thaos' name" so yeah, I mostly agree.
  8. Correction: you know there's a mysterious bloke with a weird hat using a weird spinny machine that makes biawacs. I wouldn't say you know all about Thaos at that point in the game.
  9. Great for me to. As a Brit I find it horrible jarring when fantasy characters are given British accents, particularly when they're given arbitrarily chosen regional accents and doubly particularly when it's clear the voice actor isn't a native of that regional accent.
  10. Only if Deadfire follows the same basic plot format as Pillars did, but given what has been revealed about it it won't. The whole thing about Eothas reawakening in the Od Nua statue, draining the Watcher's soul (and everyone else around) and wandering off into the sea is the setup for Deadfire. Unlike Pillars the mystery won't be what has happened but why.
  11. If Deadfire were a book the stuff about Eothas draining your soul and setting off into the sea would be part of the blurb. It's the setup of the story.
  12. Really? I'd rate them as perhaps the worst of the specialist mages.
  13. Only a bit? I cringed a lot. I'm also fairly certain it's not going to be a modified Eminem song that brings Josh back to these forums
  14. Are there ways to force enemies to disengage? If not how useful did you find the +10 penetration on disengagement attacks?
  15. Is it worth taking Defender Stance (or whatever the extra engagements Fighter stance is called)? On the one hand you'll likely end up with more engagement slots than you can realistically use (six with a shield), but on the other the auto-prone upgrade of Guardian Stance looks to be pretty good.
  16. I've been toying with the idea of playing an Unbroken/Shield Bearer. Not sure how good it'll be, but I like the idea of playing an effective tank.
  17. I'd hope that at some point down the line the rewards are released as a free bundled DLC for all platforms. It would be weird if people who want them, even on Steam, in six months time do have to input 55 codes into this portal.
  18. I haven't completed it either... I'm not sure what it is. I was enjoying it but i got to a point and whenever I boot up the game I play for about 5 minutes and can't bring myself to carry on. I've noticed that games have a certain kind of momentum. I've discovered I pretty much need to finish a game all in one continuous time period. If I stop for a while and try to come back, I've lost the immersion and the enthusiasm. Same, I can't pick up a playthrough after a break, I have to start from scratch. I also find PoE takes a certain mindset to play. I have to be in the mood to really concentrate.
  19. It's not though, for the reason I said before. If the RPG Codex review poster had been moderated here (banned or otherwise) they would have gone back to Codex and started a narrative about how Obsidian is censoring criticism. If the same thing happened on SA they wouldn't have been able to make that argument, since SA isn't run by Obsidian. As for social media, Twitter doesn't really support long discussions, you'll simply get people saying "PoE sucks" or similar; and Josh selects which questions to answer on his Tumblr account (if you ask a question it won't appear until he answers it, so he can simply not answer it if he doesn't want to). It would be great for us if the devs interacted more with this community, but I don't think it's worth it for them.
