  1. Playing is an exaggeration. I'll spend ages looking at the ability trees for the various classes trying to decide what I want to play. I'll then play through the tutorial before changing my mind.
  2. Some people would pay good money for that sort of weight loss. You should market it: 'the holiday to Uzbekistan and 30lbs* weight loss plan' :D *The number is bigger in pounds and Americans are likely to be a big part of your market.
  3. Dexterity is an important attribute for Priests because, like all of the "Vancian"* casters their power is directly proportional to how quickly they can vomit their spells. This applies to buffing as well since you want to get all your buffs cast asap so that you can move onto damage dealing (which Priests are very good at). There's a reason that all four Priest builds in the PoE character builds list have Dexterity 16 or higher. Yes, with Minor Avatar and Aggrandising Radiance Priest's can get +10 Dexterity relatively quickly at the start of combat, but Dexterity has a relatively modest diminishing returns and it's absolutely worthwhile to start with 18+ Dexterity if you can. This isn't to say Durance is bad. He's not. However a Priest Watcher with high Dexterity will be a lot more powerful (this is one of the few situations where I'd say Attributes actually make a fair bit of difference in PoE). Agreed. Priests have the potential to be amazing damage dealers if you want them to be. *Obligatory "they're not technically Vancian" comment.
  4. What makes you think Eothas is motivated by revenge? Or to get more to the point, have you seen the character quotation Josh tweeted regarding Eothas? It casts that theory into doubt. I haven't seen the quote. What is it? "You do not need to follow me, for their sake or your own. Something beautiful is coming, something that will save us all." - Eothas
  5. I believe Josh said little to no banter, so some presumably will have some banter. Moreover each has a unique portrait, a unique in game model and a unique voice set. Not a huge thing but it might tip the balance.
  6. Not that I know of. I doubt they'll be true post end of game content* but whether they're specifically end game content or are spread over a range of levels is purely speculation at this point. *By this I mean areas you can only access once you've beaten the main boss of the game.
  7. Very cool Gairnulf. I've been thinking I might want to have a go at modding Deadfire to be as close as possible to Pillars (mechanics wise) so this will be very useful.
  8. Send likely yes, though I doubt they'll add an additional priest subclass. Who knows though.
  9. Minor point, it depends on the language of the speaker: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator#Examples_of_use As a side note, I've never seen apostrophes used to separate thousands in large numbers.
  10. Could very well be. It may be that the gods were designed around preexisting mythical gods so perhaps they designed Galawain the way he is because that's the way he was in their mythology, and they didn't think through the possible outcomes of doing so.
  11. When did you say what were? I asked if you agreed or disagreed with a statement. But don't worry about it, I don't think this is going to go anywhere
  12. So you don't have a good reason to assume these DLCs were cut content? Would you agree or disagree that different aspects of game development finish at different stages in the development cycle, freeing up some of the development team before the game is released?
  13. Some people will claim that expansions are larger than DLCs but I think your guess is right. It's true that since we started using "DLC" rather than "expansion" a lot of add-on content has become smaller, but I suspect this is mostly due to the economic viability of selling smaller packets of content then there being a meaningful distinction between the two.
  14. Is there a good reason to imagine these DLCs were cut content? If so, what is it? If not, why suggest it?
  15. My best guess is when you're really tired you don't want to read.
  16. I'm looking forward to seeing what he produces. I imagine non-traditional will go beyond classless since classless isn't particularly rare in tabletop role-playing.
  17. Commander is a specific naval rank as well, at least in the British Navy.
  18. Sure, but it's kinda clear that that's not what Obsidian are doing here. My point was mainly that "revenue raising tool" is a dumb criticism of DLC, not that there aren't companies that are extremely dodgy in the way they deal with DLC. Potential? Haven't you learnt yet. Negative means "doesn't agree with MG".
  19. Yeah no. Some aspects of game development are finished earlier than others, so the people working on those aspects can start working on DLC before the game is released. This doesn't mean the DLC is cut content. As for them being a revenue raising tool: of course they are. Obsidian is a business, they both want and need to raise revenue.
  20. I occasionally have problems with the site but so far it's been fine. Perhaps there's a problem with the link to your Steam account? Have you definitely linked it correctly?
  21. Pre-ordering has never given beta access. Even backing didn't guarantee it (you had to back at a high enough tier or pay extra for beta access). As others have said, you're not missing much. The beta isn't the full, incomplete game: it's a tiny slice of the game designed to allow players to test combat and mechanics.
