Well, i know that even if they do make a Kotor III, no matter who is developing it, i will NOT be buying it. Lucasarts are crap now....well to me anyway. they just wanted quick money.
-
I haven't had any problems with my Kotor II except for severe slowdowns in several areas, but the only time it crashes is when i use the 4.3 opengl .dll file to get the glowy lights back, other then that, the game runs fine.

Another week gone by and no Patch in sight.
JamieKirby replied to By Design's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I will believe this when a patch is accually released. Vampire - Bloodlines took awhile for a patch to come out and it hardly fixed a thing and Activision just said that all the slowdowns are due to your machines not being fast enough. lol If lucasarts do the same thing, they won't get another penny from me that is for sure. -
one weapon vs 2 weapon fighting
JamieKirby replied to Angry Jedi 8's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
why do you skip peragus? that is basicly cheating....tisk, tisk, tisk. -
Well, i don't get any problems with my ATI card but i tend to get peed off when each driver release doesn't fix the glow problem that hasn't worked since 4.3 and if i use the 4.3 OpenGL dll file into the game directory, it causes random crashes, which i can't explain....so i guess i gotta live without the glowy effect.

I would say Bioware, they did a far better game. (stability wise) But they also released a patch VERY soon after PC Release.

one weapon vs 2 weapon fighting
JamieKirby replied to Angry Jedi 8's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would go with single saber to make it more like the classical Starwars movie. but if you want over-powered sabering, go with dual weapon. I have finished the game 3 times as a LS Sentinel/all 3 classes and i never really used force powers except the buffing powers, you don't really need force powers, since the game is too easy. I hope Kotor III is more challenging, but not too challenging to make it crap. (ie Homeworld 2) But i would wait for the patch, if it does get released and hope it fixes some of the major bugs. (major slowdowns on both ATI and Nvidia cards in several areas and there is not sufficiant activity to account for the slowdown, so it is a memory leak or something) I may not have a high-end system, but i have over the recommended config and my brother certainly does and it still slows down at the same spots, just less noticeable. I have: AMD AthlonXP 2600+ 1024MB DDR PC2700 ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB My Brother has: Intel Pentium IV 2.8Ghz (with HT) 1024MB DDR PC3200 (Dual Channel) Nvidia Geforce 6800Ultra 256MB It needs that the only times it slows down for unknown reasons are in the following areas: Peragus Mining Tunnel (same basic area where you first control your Astromech droid) Peragus Mining Tunnel (Where there is alot of smoke, which still shouldn't slow it down from 40fps to 2-3fps) Malacor V (when you first exit your ship, which is the first area, the Second area is smooth) Everywhere else either slows down is due to the activity or is virtually smooth. So, i am gonna wait until a patch that fixes this problem is released. (which is probably never gonna happen) Anyone that says the whole game runs like silk is extremely exaggerating. -
i am too good to be a bad guy...i feel too guilty.
-
i bet the patch is gonna be big, since there are alot of bugs in it....alot of bugs, not fatal ones though.

I just uninstalled KotOR II from my PC
JamieKirby replied to kwrkyone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I only have a problem with severe slowdowns in different areas. Peragus Mining Tunnels Malacor V 1st Area Everywhere else is pretty much fine, unless it slows down from all the action. My machine can run tons of lightsabers flying around the screen like crazy, but it can't manage to process a piece of rock on Peragus. lol -
The Patch will be out when it is out, just wait.

He also did Max's Voice in 'A Goofy Movie' or however it is spelt. (Goofys' Son) He also did the second one too i believe.

BUG - % damage blockers don't work
JamieKirby replied to Camp Freddie's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
considering that majority of the damage you take in this game is energy based, there is no problem. Alot of people say the game is too easy, but they always do their uber-characters...i always experement with mine and i die constantly. I have no idea how they say the game is too easy or something like that because it isn't too easy or too hard, but it is too short, i think alot of people will agree there. But the % damage blockers do work for me, but then again, i only use the energy blocker ones, since i am getting hit by blasters or lightsabers most of the time. (70-80% of the time) Any others are usually dead before they get within melee range, especially with Atton with his dual blasters and full 'precise shot' feats. hehehehe i just wish the glows would work. (ATI specific problem) i also wish i knew what was causing the slowdown problem. (peragus and malacor 5) Also, if a game is too hard or too challenging, i won't like the game since to me, its meant for entertainment not getting your ass handed to you every time. -
well, i picked graphics, but i think gameplay on a RPG is far more important then graphics. That is why i play Master of Orion II more then Imperium Galactica 2.....Orion 2 has much more better gameplay. But i do hope that Kotor III has some modern graphics...so far, hardly any games have come out requiring decent hardware.. The latest i know of was Half Life 2 and Doom III....correct me if i am wrong.

Freezing, Glitches, & Broken Quests
JamieKirby replied to Sophrosune's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
same here, works like a charm.....minus the severe slowdowns on Peragus and Malacor V. (its not ATI specific since my moms' slows down too and so does my brothers.... (who has a machine that puts mine to shame) -
I personally haven't had any problems with the game, except for the annoying slowdown in several areas. (Peragus and Malacor V) So, quit complaining with problems that don't exist.

KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
JamieKirby replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, Mira can screw me to death anytime. (best way to go and i think everyone will agree (being screwed to death that is) -
'Worked' meant in the least literal sense possible. I have had no CTD errors ... my problem is the swoop racing and the fact I cant win races no matter what my time because of a scripting error. The manual says I can, but I cant, and I will kick up merry hell until the problem is fixed or Ill be going to trading standards because the product which I bought does not perform in the way advertised or promised. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> then do so, moaning and crying about it won't make the patch come out any faster. Infact, it worked fine for me, only severe slowdowns in 3 places. (2 in Peragus mining area and 1 on Malacor V) Other then that it worked perfect for me. It only started hanging because i am using the 4.3 atioglxx.dll file to get the neat glows back. (ATI Specific problem) Just stop complaining, i loved the swoop racing on Kotor I, but complaining about something isn't gonna get it fixed any quicker. Just remember, there are some people that can't even get the game running or even installed, while you are complaining about not being able to win the swoop race on Telos. (which is bugged and not worth complaining about, while the other swoop races are quite winnable, as far as i know, but i have never liked Kotor II swoop racing, it just doesn't do it for me like Kotor I swoop racing did. EDIT: I do note now that the Developers said in the FAQ before the game come out that they had fixed ALL ATI specific issues that they knew about and showed ATI how to fix their drivers. (but the lack of glow around light sources are still unavailable on any drivers above Catalyst 4.3)
-
What Nvidia drivers are you using?
JamieKirby replied to Jellybelly's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, Shadows don't make the game more better......the only game that really benefits with shadows is Doom III. i think 5800s and above got the Ultra Shadow thingy that Nvidia Cards have, they significantly help with shadow processing, but ATI don't have that processing thing, but shadows never improve gameplay at all, so i just leave it off. The thing i do get peed off about is that ATI cards don't get that neat little glow around light sources. (lightsabers, lights etc.) I get severe slowdowns in the Peragus Mining Area and Malachor V.......everywhere else was ok. Granted, you can never play a modern game on a modern machine with 100% smoothness (it is unavoidable) but when all you stare at is a piece of rock, it shouldn't slow down to a point that you would think an area with like 25+ people shooting each other. But i assume this is a memory leak, i hope the latest patch fixes it when it comes out. I do get some crashes (the game just hangs and i have to end the task) but i suspect that the cause of that is that i am using the 'atioglxx.dll' file from Catalyst 4.3 to get the nifty glows that haven't worked on Kotor I since 4.4 came out. (it doesn't crash at all with the 'atioglxx.dll' file not in the game directory) But this glow thing is a ATI driver issue, which they have yet to fix, assuming they are even trying. I have the following config: AMD AthlonXP 2600+ (333Mhz Bus) 1024MB DDR PC2700 (not dual channel) ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB (using 4.11 with atioglxx.dll file from 4.3 for the glows) SB Audigy 2 Platinum (using latest drivers) -
well, the question not, who released their patch first, its which game could you play as soon as it came out. Kotor I = Couldn't play until 1.03 (don't ask why, i have no idea) Kotor II = Worked right away
-
Which game is more buggy - KOTOR I or KOTOR II?
JamieKirby replied to Burnzzz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
considering that when Kotor I came out, i couldn't play it at all until 1.03 patch was released, so i think Kotor I was more buggy at release. since i can play Kotor II without a problem (besides the major slowdown on all ATI and Nvidia Cards) it isn't as buggy. but it does need bug fixing. -
i am still waiting for someone to do the whole game without any use of force powers. (the force persude doesn't count)
-
Well, i picked Jedi Master because i always prefer to find a peaceful solution to all problems. 'A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defence, never for attack' I can't even play the games as a bad guy, i just get all guilty and upset and i quit the game and sulk. So, i always play light side. Anyone that honestly says that their true selfs are like the sith, they are downright lieing or are rotten people. (murderers, rapists etc.)

WHY HAS OBSIDION NOT REPLIED TO ANY OF THIS?
JamieKirby replied to Worldshaper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thirded. lol
