  1. Wow Epip you really are a though argumentator, have you honestly thought about the politician career??? Maybe you could run through some good ideas like: why bother giving social security to old people, cause they're gonna die soon anyway? (Although, you Yanks have a crappy welfare system allready, so why not. Hey I've got a good idea:let's go kill Iraqis, that money is better spent there anyways) -what? It's rational thinking, isn't it? Why don't you just let the total noob fanboy be in his foolish delusions, instead of trying to provoke everyone in to a fight with you?! Plz? Credits to you: A finn is not easily "warmed up", since we live in this remote frozen place that is far from the wonderful country that you guys inhabit! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> god i love your attitude. lol the random drop generator is just like Diablo II, you will get junk until you don't need the good stuff, then you get it, but its junk now. lol
  2. with reading all this, i am gonna be going Sentinel as a starting class, but, i will see how it develop my character to see what second class to pick. The idea of being able to make your own upgradeable weapons and armour is really appealing. With the Random Generator thing, i think it increases the replay value quite alot, since you ain't gonna get the same stuff a second or third time through, which is a good thing. I guess us PC Users will find out in 6-12 days. (i am sure i am wrong by a few days)
  3. When i first played Kotor I, i tried Dual Sabers and the Staff thingy, but it just made my character too powerful......WAY too powerful, so i just stick to a single saber for the fun of it. Perhaps i just had to get used to it, since i play Jedi Academy Online and everyone nags about *fair play* which is dumb, since when you are facing a Dark Jedi or Jedi Knight (depending which side you are on) would you ask them to use a single saber because you are? come on. lol Anyway, I never use dual sabers or saber staff, if a party member is set up for using dual pistols or dual sabers or saber staff from the start of when i get them, i let them use them as best they can, but my main character is always single pistol, sword or saber. (bonus to attack and defence with dueling feat.....if they haven't changed it in Kotor II) But, everyone has their own preferred way of playing, i just stated mine. But as other people have stated, all the classes are good at two handed fighting, they just need the feats for it to be effective. (accuracy wise)
  4. Then why did you bring it up? Some people (myself included) have a lot more fun gaming on a console, because of our gaming setup. I'd much rather sit back on the couch, controller in hand and play a game on my widescreen TV, then sit at a desk and play it on a monitor... That's just the visual aspect of it, when I factor in surround sound quality/volume I don't even want to think about gaming on a PC. I would suggest to myself not to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its up to you, but IMO, you are losing out, X-Boxes to me are only useful for Beat'em Ups and Racing Games. but lets end it there.
  5. I use some force powers and a single saber. I only play DS. I tried both KOTOR and KOTOR 2 as LS, and I felt like a dork both times, and never finished the beginning areas due to trying to be "nice". I use DS powers. No buffers. I prefer not to handicap my character in such a way that I can't use abilities/skills that are in the game. So I always focus on one style, be in flurry, power attack or critical strike (being my favorite). True, it's to provide entertainment, but there are lots of people that don't find being unstoppable destruction to be all that fun. Which is why difficulty sliders are usually added. Sadly, even on hard, the game is still so easy it's boring. Ok, this reminds me of the Morrowind uber-fans trying to defend Morrowind being an easy game. They also told people to handicap themselves to the point of having a shell of a character. It was a silly idea back then, and it's just as silly for this game. Heaven forbid they use what the developers gave them to use. By making the rest of the game pointless? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you so totally throw out what i meant. lol and to the Morrowind game, i got bored of it within 5mins.....X2 - The Threat was boring, even though i normally like space games, but if you can even hold your own against a ship the same size as you is so dumb, it was basicly a trading game in space....you could only do any decent fighting, when you have made like 500k-1mil in cash, which takes a considerable amount of time and i am rather not that good at waiting, so this is why i got bored of it. But lets not let this topic get into a tug-of-war.........you want the game to be challenging and if it isn't, its boring, but this is where modding comes in....mod it to make it more harder.......oh yeh, you only got it for the X-Box, which means no modding.....thats where the PC Version is better......and don't let it turn into a pc vs xbox topic either. I have had alot of fun modding Kotor for the PC, seeing how hard i could make it to how easy i could make it, it is way too much fun. I would suggest getting the PC Version and do some modding....assuming the Kotor_Tool will work with it. (i think it should considering its the same engine.)
  6. Wow, they have a few more hit points, so I have to hit them 1-2 more times. It doesn't change the fact there is no present challenge in the game. You can't even handicap yourself with hand to hand combat. About the only thing you can do is have all your characters use blasters with no close combat feats. YEAH THAT'S ROLEPLAYING! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let me guess, you use all the force powers and dual sabers? I only play LS since i am a goody two-shoes. lol I tried Kotor I as a DS Character and i really, really felt guilty at the end. So, i always play LS, The only force powers i use are the healing and buffing powers and others, when they are required to get further in the story. (which i don't think happend on Kotor I) I always go by tradition when it comes to Saber combat, which means a single lightsaber with no special things. (Flurry, Power Attack etc.) In my opinion, a game is meant for entertainment and to be fun, if it is challenging to the point of dying to the need to reload to try again, isn't really entertaining, more like annoying and boring. But since all people are different, i suggest, instead of using force powers or any special attacks, just use a single saber playing solo where possible with no armor, no implants, no headsets, no belts or anything besides your blaster, rifle, sword, fists or saber. (which ever you prefer) Because i have noticed people using dual sabers, going DS and using ALL The powers constantly and then complain it is too easy. lol It really makes me laugh. Do different things to make it challenging if you NEED a game to be challenging to be fun.
  7. the random thing means, alot of replay ability. :D
  8. I honestly don't care who makes it, as long as they don't screw it up. ie. Master of Orion 3 (it was a total screw up, i prefer Orion 2) I hope i don't end up preferring Kotor II, over Kotor III.
  9. exellent. :D now i feel MUCH Better :D :D :D I have had to stick to 4.3 ever since ATI screwed up at 4.4. lol but i am glad now...thanks .:D I was concerned i would have to cancel my preorder.
  10. well, i always have Kotor settings to Maximum, but on the latest ATI Drivers the 'Frame Buffer Effect' doesn't fully work. (ie. no saber glow, light source glows)
  11. oops, sorry about the double post. :/ feel free to close this one.
  12. Hiya, I ain't sure if this is the right place to put it, but i need to know if the PC Version is gonna have the same problem as Kotor does?? With any ATI Drivers above 4.4, certain effects don't work. (light aura around light sources don't work, while other elements of the effects does) I am stuck without glows from lights, lightsabers. blaster bolts and stuff like that....also, on Dantooine, the 5.1 drivers cause it to slowdown insanely to the point of near unplayable. Can anyone that has been working on the PC version of Kotor II tell me if this game also suffers from this problem?? Here is my computer spec: AND AthlonXP 2600+ 1024MB DDR PC2700 ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB (Sapphire Brand) I personally think it is a Driver issue, which has yet to be fixed. Thanks in advanced, JamieKirby
