  1. Well, the higher versions of sneak attack the Sith Assassin gets are pretty sweet. Combined with Insanity, the Sith Assassin can be deadlier than a Weapons Master. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its a good job they never made Kotor II a SP/MP, its obvious what people would do. Sentinel/Sith Assassin = Stealth attacks constantly (rather pathetic to be honest) I have played tons of MP games and people do the exact same things. (especially if they are always victorious) I like proper skill and tactics.....if someone wins with skill and tactics, i cheer him/her on. But i have yet to see it. Anyway, when it comes to skills, Sentinel/Watchman or Sith Assassin are the best to pick. but if you want skills and damage, i would go with: Sentinel/Weaponsmaster or Sith Marauder or whatever it is spelt. since you don't get any use for stealth with a combat oriented class, you don't need to fill up the skill, which means more skill points for later use. It is a pity that the items you wear that have bonuses to your Attributes doesn't count when leveling up. (ie. Intelligence bonuses from items don't count when leveling up)
  2. Because you don't like them, doesn't mean other people don't.
  3. That's exactly what I was thinking. My super hot Sentinal chick (or any other character that I create) would probably be better suited to the Weapons Master Class. The only thing Watchman/Assassin has to offer me is better saving throws and better skill progression, but I can always just play a little longer to compensate. I guess I'll just have to check them all out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep you could. But i hear that the Fury Feat is broken......not confirmed by me, since i have yet to be them...and since i am the type that gets upset by doing something bad, i doubt i will. Its broken as in, you supposed to get extra attacks per round on the higher levels, when you don't.
  4. Link Weaponmaster: Pain Tolerance, Increased Melee Damage, Deflect, Greater Prestige Sense Marauder: Ignore Pain, Increased Combat Damage, Fury, Greater Prestige Sense Watchman: Force Camouflage, Sneak Attack, high saving throws, Greater Prestige Sense Assassin: Force Camouflage, higher levels of sneak attack, Greater Prestige Sense Jedi Master: Light Side Enlightenment, Inspire Others, Prestige Sense Sith Lord: Dark Side Corruption, Crush Opposition, Prestige Sense <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I forgot to add those in...sorry.
  5. Well, if you are more of a: 'hey theres the enemy, lets kill him' type of person, then if you start as a Sentinel (good for skills) you should go to Jedi Weaponmaster or their Darkside counterparts (for the extra damage) not sure if they get any class specific force powers...never really needed to use them except to heal. If you don't do the Stealth part then you will have skill points left over to save up for Demolition and repair (assuming you care about skills)
  6. what stats did you start with? I usually start with a Sentinel with: STR = 15 DEX = 10 CON = 14 INT = 16 WIS = 10 CHA = 10 As far as i know, i get all the special dialogs....i even edited classes.2da to start with 20 points on all stats to see if there is any difference to dialogs.....there is none. Considering that i get the intelligence up to 18 as soon as possible (leveling) to get the skills up and running before getting to Prestige class. Is this your first time playing this game? (you have probably played Kotor I, but Kotor II is slightly different....skills are more important then in the first game) If its your first game, is suggest you do a Sentinel/Watchman (light side) or a Sentinel/Sith Assassin (Dark Side) (most skill points the classes are pretty decent. but it all depends on your play style.
  7. Well, if i put myself in the shoes of a Dark Jedi, i would likely kill myself and never play the game again. I am a Lightside only guy and let it rest at that.
  8. Hiya guys, I thought i would try the darkside playthrough, since on Kotor I, the darkside was easier since you got more cash from *cough* extortion *cough*. I finished Telos and Dantooine and i got to Nar Shaddaa and i just got a VERY deep sense of guilt and i stopped and i had to sit down and one a romance movie to cheer me up. I guess i am too much of a good guy. I had no problem in killing Vrook, since i personally thought he was an arrogant S.O.B. lol I have no idea how you lot manage to do it without feeling guilty. I managed to get to the end part, where you kill Mission on Kotor I and i couldn't do it. I am a goody-little-two shoe.
  9. I was lucky enough to stumble across a thread on LucasForums from July for KotOR1, and was able to do the same for KotOR2. Thanks to those thread authors, Mullzy and Beancounter! My lightsabers still glow, stealth still looks wavy, and my eyes feel better! If someone could PM me info on if / where it's legal to share this patch, I'd be happy to do so. If you're brave, check out this thread and prepare yourself for reading some painful manuals on this solution. Of course, I'm still looking forward to anyone that has a non-hack in game way to relax our eyes. Thanks all, Daniel <{POST_SNAPBACK}> whats wrong with using a hack to get rid of the crap speed blur? It isn't like you are giving yourself 20 points on each stat. lol
  10. I agree there, i just hope it isn't another Duke Nukem Forever, Never. lol
  11. Well, i hope Obsidian fixes that, especially the unexplained severe slowdowns. (and i don't mean the Dantooine slowdown)
  12. 1: i don't agree there, Jedi Academy was ruined because the Saber fights were too unrealistic. (as in, it was never a saber duel, it was more of a contest......who can slash to kill first? type of contest) 2: It would be a cool feature if you could put the hood on or off 3: Well, since Kotor II has a limit of 50 levels and there are enough feats and force powers for it, but the droids don't have enough feats for 50 levels, so you would get stuck early on, but i agree that there should be more planets, but to get past the feat limits, you could add the ability to skip adding a feat if you have no more left (losing the feat you skip) or have the game detect if you ran out of feats and regardless of if you get a feat on a level, it won't give you one. 4: i think there should be more open-ended gameplay, instead of instantly needing to save something.......you could say do your own thing, you know, swoop-racing, bounty hunting (good and bad bounty hunting) and other stuff like that. 5: If you want space fights, play a Space Sim (Freelancer, Tie Fighter, X-Wing alliance, Starlancer. etc. 6: Well, considering i thought morrowind was utter trash, i don't agree, if Kotor III was virtually like Morrowind, i doubt many people would play it....since you had trouble fighting from the start. (which i like to do) 7: This is a 3rd Person RPG, not a space sim....even though i miss a decent space sim, Kotor turned space sim, would kinda kill it, if that makes sense.....besides, if you want a Freelancer style starwars game, play the Starwars Mod for Freelancer.
  13. its just my opinion, no need to have a melt down. If the game is too easy, make it more harder by modding the game....its that simple.
  14. Kotor I is better because there is a sodding romance in the game. lol
  15. To you perhaps. But I don't find much fun in having the climactic battle of a chapter be done in two flurry attacks, and every regular battle be a no-brainer clickfest. There is supposed to be a difference between games and movies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that a battle shouldn't be finished in 2 flurrys, but all in all, a game is for entertainment and thats all it is for. But to solve that problem, don't use flurry or any special attack or force powers....won't be so easy then. If you want a challenge, try Homeworld 2, now that game sucked because the AI outright cheated.
  16. i accually agree there, i just hope they make Kotor III much more fun.
  17. well, i prefer Kotor I because i don't get any sodding annoying slowdowns for no reason. (you know, looking at a piece of rock and a wall slows it down on Kotor II) Then i prefer Kotor II because of all the extra cool stuff in it. But i plan to play Kotor I again, until the patch comes out and pray that Obsidian fix the slowdowns and i also hope ATI get off their fat asses to fix the lack of glows to light sources. (driver issue) Normally, i would be content with using the dll file from 4.3 catalyst and using 4.11 drivers, but doing it that way causes the game to go to a blank screen after the first movie or the next movie if i load a saved game. I have no solution to it or why its doing that.
  18. Well, that never works for me, since 99% of the time they always save against the force powers and i always have my wisdom and charisma on 14 lately....especially with a Consular....so i will welcome the tweaked saves, but a game doesn't need to be challening to be fun, just playing it is fun.
  19. I see a game as completed when you finish the game in every possible way. (if there are different solutions to each situation) (no mods, no save game editing) I do admit though, they did rather screw up the classes, there is no point in being a Guardian, since you get 1 more minor feat then a Sentinel, a mere +2 extra damage, (ranged, melee and Saber) but much less skill points. In Kotor I, skill points weren't all that important, just repair, treat injury and persuade. (computer use, if you wanna make it easier, combat wise and kill everyone by gas) (so a Scout/Sentinel is the best choice skill wise) But in Kotor II, skills are important for more dialogs...Demolition not only lets to disable and recover mines, it lets you open some doors and containers. (pretty cool) But in the long run, a game is meant for fun and entertainment, not a challenge. If i wanted a challenging game, i would play chess with my mom, her eye sight might suck due to a brain dis-order, but her chess playing skills are scary. Technically, Armor Shouldn't restrict force powers, i would think if armor stops you from using the good force powers, then the force powers should be useless against armor if it stops you using them. (if that makes sense) But it is understandable, because if you could wear a Mandarlorian Heavy Armour and still use force powers, why wear Jedi Robes. (Heavy Armor = 10+ defence vs Jedi Robes = 5 defence i believe) who would win? Anyway, this game only has 2 replay value times (one for light and one for dark, after that, there isn't much point in playing it again) except for the fun of it of course. Anyway, i hope they have more planets on Kotor III and the story doesn't need to include them, just them being there is cool, it lets you make a good name or bad name for yourself. You know......go to Corellia and do some side quests and stuff, but the planet has no connection to the main story, it is just there for the realism of it. (do you know what i mean?) Now, this is my idea of a cool Kotor type game (using the source engine or some good engine that will work well on all modern cards....Nvidia and ATI alike) It could have like 20+ planets and only like 5-7 have anything to do with the story, but the rest have nothing to do with it besides having side quests and pod racing. (each non-story planet as well as story planets have 2 ways of doing stuff.....light side or darkside) (it would be my kinda game then) Of course, you will say, if you have all those planets, you will reach maximum level before even starting the story.....but the max level will be 99. but you will not have a simple game because of a high level character. It would be like this: Jedi Guardian: 4 BAB per level, 2 skill points per level and 2 force points per level Jedi Sentinel: 2 BAB per level, 3 skill points per level and 4 force points per level Jedi Consular: 0 BAB per level, 1 skill points per level and 8 force points per level also, the AI will always be 5 levels higher then you, while the Bosses will be 10 levels higher. (except the starting planet, since you will be pathetically weak then, they will be evenly matched or weaker. what do you guys think? (not saying this will happen, just a what if type of game)
  20. Well, the only time i could beat all 5 handmaidens is when i had edited the regeneration.2da files to give 10hp per second. because at that point in time, it is VERY, VERY impossible to finish it with a unmodified game. If you find the game too easy, why don't you mod it to balance it out.....well, you can just nerf your character. you know, pick crap force powers....stuff like that. don't upgrade your armor/robes or weapons. use one saber, use no special attacks. (flurry etc.) Its like i find Master of Orion II pathetically easy, so i always mod out the AI with extreme production, research and population growth....i always seem to win either way. lol
  21. well, if you want a challenge, run your own life. lol (now thats a challenge) The game was pretty easy, but you could mod the game to make it more balanced. you know, different BAB. etc.
  22. Well, i have a ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128MB I hear that Gainward are doing a 512MB PCI-X card soon and the same goes for ATI.
  23. The only things i am miffed with is that the glow doesn't work on ATI cards and when i try the trick of copying the 'atioglxx.dll file from 4.3 drivers into the Kotor II directory, it just goes to a blank screen and it only works after i delete it from the directory. The Developers said that all known ATI issues were fixed by them or ATI and since this was happening with Kotor I, this issue is VERY well known....and yet, it isn't fixed.
  24. well, for me, i only get the black screen with the sound, when i use the 4.3 dll file for the neat glows that stopped working on ATI cards from drivers 4.4 and above. Other then that, i have no idea
