  1. Are you serious!? Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its just what i heard on these forums, but i didn't mean forever stopped, a 'for now' stop. But it will be a MASSIVE mistake for profits, since they will lose it from lack of Kotor III sales. This time i hope they make a seperate PC Version instead of porting it from the X-Box....which is probably why it runs better on Nvidia Cards. why don't they make a PC Version, make it only work well on ATI cards and port it over to the X-Box and see how they like it.
  2. from what i heard, they have stopped development of Kotor III.
  3. you will need to edit the swkotor2.ini file and search for instances of 'FullScreen'. (there should be 2 of them) One is set to FullScreen=1 and the other FullScreen=0. (set both to FullScreen=1) if that doesn't fix it, i have no idea.
  4. Why? Republic Commando sucked big time, i think i played pac-man more then that trash.
  5. same here, its only worth a good 4 play throughs. 2 female (LS & DS) 2 male (LS & DS) after that, whats the point? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WOW 4X roughly 35 = 140hrs! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, accually i never ran, i walked. lol I never used force powers since they are way overpowered. I also never used any of the feats (flurry etc.) After the fourth playthrough, it just got pointless to play it. It would have been better if it was more non-linear.
  6. Well, they have totally alienated me. I was gonna get SWG and the expansions when i get the free cash to afford the subscriptions, but now, they stuff themselves. (i thought i would try it, but since lucasarts royally screwed us, they lost my support and faith, hell, i ain't even gonna get the next starwars movie)

  8. Well in an ideal world that would be nice... but just imagine FIVE years to develop a game? by the time the game was finished technology would have moved on and its standard would be obsolete before it was released, not to mention most companies tend to base their longterm strategies on a five year plan, the company might not even be in the same place cpmmercially in that time period. they simply wouldn't take that long to make a video game, not only would it cost an absolute fortune, which would therefore make them start thinking very seriously about upping the price, as if the game isn't a number one hit that stays at the tops of the charts for months, or ends up with a huge inline community that keeps it going for years, they will end up making a loss, or at the east struggling to break even. I'm all for them spending the time required to release a well baked product, but you have to be realistic. Even Lucasarse would go bankrupt if they worked consistently on such a development policy. It is true there have been a few games that broke this mold, but those games which then went on to do well are rarer than those which sank without a trace. NWN is one of the few I can think of that actually succeeded after, what a 4-5 year development time? Everyone expected it to fail, and to be fair it might well have done, it was the community which kept it going. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just think if that is true, you won't need to upgrade. :D hehehehe Also, another good thing is if they did make the game and release it and it was virtually bug free and they went bankrupt. 2 birds with 1 stone in my mind. (we get the game and lucasarts are gone) (they have had several chances in my mind and they failed miserably) Besides my idea has room for improvement. lol
  9. Well, the patch will be out when it will be out, complaining will not make it come sooner. I don't get any problems, besides the severely slowdown in 2-3 areas, the rest are smooth. It only hangs when i use the dll file from 4.3 ATI Catalyst Drivers in the games' directory because i want the glowy thing back. (ATI seems to not care about it) And no, the slowdowns i experience are not ATI specific, it happens on my brothers' Nvidia 6800Ultra and my moms' 5900Ultra.
  10. I think it would take about 4 years to develop. 10 planets, different starting points, D3d/Open GL. It would never get released. Personally, I don't want to wait that long. While I am sure we all want the story to continue a long time, I don't think that is realistic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hmmmm, let me do the calculations. longer development = stable and less bugs or shorter development = Kotor II I think i would prefer the longer development If Obsidian can get Kotor II sort of completed in 12 months or so, this game could be done in 2yrs or so and will be far worth it. Its not my problem if you can't wait that long. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 2 years? You are calling for 10 planets, which is twice the content/story of KOTOR2. If Obsidian did KOTOR2 in a year, then it would take 2 years just to have the same level of quality (lack of polish) as they had in KOTOR2. If you add in an ending, multiple starting locations, Direct 3d/Open GL rendering, better testing and bug fixing, and more original content (face it, they used a lot of areas from KOTOR and copied them, changing them only slightly, ie: Dantooine, The first ship you are on in KOTOR was back,etc...), a new graphics engine (which takes time to develop), you are looking at 3 years minimum. While the game might be great, that is a LONG time to wait. Not to mention, Lucasarts would never go for it. 3 years developing a game is a large investment. They much rather give you smaller installments (not that KOTOR 1 or 2 are small), and make twice as much money with less risk. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, accually it would take far longer then 5yrs, since they will be making a graphics engine from scratch. dude you should just stop being so picky about how much time it should be in development because people prefer stability bugfree gameplay instead of a short development. My Idea is great, if Lucasarts are too cheap to do it, its not my problem.
  11. that is easy to answer. in the file npc.2da your party members are set to recieve 80% of the experienced gained and can be easily altered with Kotor Tool.

  13. Well, If there is a Kotor III, i would like to see the following: 1) Better Graphics Engine (with equal & full support for ATI & Nvidia Cards) 2) Selectable D3D or OpenGL Renderer (both have equal development) 3) More Planets to visit (10 or so, each with their own problems to solve) 4) More Side Quests (each quest has a good & bad solution) 5) Level Cap will be 50 (like kotor 2, but you can reach it without cheating or using glitches) 6) No Random Loot (I preferred it the Kotor I way) 7) Better Endings (i don't think anyone will disagree here. lol) New Ways to start (You can choose to start as a Jedi Padawan, Sith padawan or a Military Recruit) 8a) Jedi (You will start as a Jedi Padawan at the Jedi Academy, if you pick this option) 8b) Sith (You will be a Sith Padawan at the Sith Academy, if you pick this option) 8c) Military (You will be a Military Recruit and after a while, depending on your allignment, you will be approached by a Jedi or a Sith to become one of them) (this one is more open-ended) 9) New Ship (You get a totally new ship, which is different depending on which one you decide to start.....Jedi, Sith or Military) 10) Unique Force Powers and Feats (Main Character randomly gets a bonus feat and force power from 10 different feats and force powers.....5 LS & 5 DS....which is recieved after training is complete) 11) Different Party Members (you get to accually pick which members join your group from the academy you start at with a slight difference) 11a) Military (Party Members from this Academy will be normal and will have a neutral allignment so it is up to you to choose their path of being honorable soldiers or evil people, corrupt soldiers or well.....madmen, but will be crack shots with pistols and rifles) 11b) Jedi & Sith (Party Members from these Academies will not be fully on their respected Allignments and it will be your responsibility to get it there by doing all the good or sick things during the game) 12) AI Abilities (Because some people moan about the games being too easy, the AI should be Addaptive and cunning, it will learn from the way you play the game and alter the game to give you a heck of a challenge) (Think Homeworld 2, but make it more realistic) 12a) Bosses (Since bosses are masters and far stronger then their peers, they should be immune to all force power attacks....i bet that screws up with you force hoggers. ) What do you guys think of that?
  14. Its a real pity they didn't do a decent ending like they should have. and yep, the Tie Fighter was great, too bad Lucasarts never did another Tie fighter, just the terrible XWA.
  15. I have worn them for like the whole game nearly, i managed to loot a dark jedi robe from a SithLord on Malacor V I think this random loot script was a bad idea....but thats just me.
  16. Well, If Obsidian do develop Kotor III (if they one is gonna be made) Lucasarts need to give them a realistic time table to complete
  17. Well, it has alot to do with StarWars, its just there hasn't been any movies in this time period. If you don't like the game, don't play it and don't ***** about it. I thought Diablo II was great and Kotor I & II were great also, even though they have rather done a bad job with them. lol I love Space Based RPGs, i just hate the fact that all of them are heading to Pay 2 Play which is really stupid. If Kotor III became a pay 2 play (which it won't) i wouldn't even think of buying it. (pay 2 plays are a waste of money because once the dudes updating and maintaining the servers decide to stop support, you are screwed.) Anyway, stop bitching about the game, if you don't like it, don't play it and don't moan about your dislike of it.
  18. this are the news that Obsidian are writing "Chris Avellone a super star" congratulations then, for his stardom but here we don't want to read about his way to the fame, we ALL want to see what's going on with the patch, why nobody has given the face about it, all that they say is "the patch is done, soon it will be released" is not only their (LA) fault, I have understood that Obsidian made the game, please take your responsibilities and keep up updated about what's going on with the patch, if LA still with it, keep communication with them about when they will release it, do your job, I did mine when I bought the game for $ 49.99. att. Alexander Gutierrez from Puerto Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> dude they don't care, they got your money.
  19. the solution here is to not rush through boss fights, because people complain that the game is too easy and they use like Master Speed, Master Flurry and a Double-Bladed Saber or just use force powers continusly. i never really use force powers, just to heal really.
  20. Well, you can get a 9800Pro for like
  21. I agree, continue to save up for a better card. Also, I have tried Kotor II with a 9800Pro and a 5900Ultra and despite the 5900Ultra being slightly faster because it has double the memory and the glowy thing worked without a problem.....the game worked the same....had the same bugs (minor ones) so it makes little difference on which type of card you have, since this game was poorly made in the first place, you can't say that this game runs better on Nvidia or ATI. Both ATI and Nvidia have the same problems. (severe slowdowns in the same areas) and no the fix for Dantooine doesn't fix this problem. lol The only difference between the cards are: the glowy thing works on Nvidia and since the nvidia one is slightly faster, the slowdown is less noticeable, but not much. So, in the long run, this game is just poorly made, it makes no difference on what card you use. some people are just lucky and others are just unlucky.
  22. its a pity you can't leave the pacifist module in HK, especially if you are a LS player.
  23. as you said. *bangs hammer down* case closed!
  24. Whoa, whoa, whoa... Tell me how "Severe Slowdowns in Several Areas" and crashing as a result of the openGL driver (a fairly essential/run of the mill driver) not serious issues? Yu've got problems and need the patch too buddy... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Accually no....the severe slowdowns doesn't destroy the game it only happens 3 times. If i just play it with 4.11 drivers, it works fine. (as in the crash doesn't accur, but the slowdowns are still there)
