  1. If Might made so much sense, explain how Might was constantly used to determine whether or not your character was strong enough to succeed at physical challenges in for example the black and white scenes, or conversations, or whatever? My Wizard's might refers to his spiritual power! Oh but he can also lift tree trunks with his bare hands. Biggest problem I have with the change is how late it's coming in development. Also, not sure Resolve is the best place to transfer spell damage to.
  2. Biggest problem with the dialogue in PoE is that the writers almost universally failed to follow the rule "Less is more". So many flowery adjectives, so little substance.
  3. Yes. Not being able to chug potions is bad enough, but having very important buffs run out much, much sooner than the rest of the party just sucks major ass. Most of these sub-classes are really ****e, really disappointing so far and you can't even avoid picking one for some of the classes, the priest ones are just godawful (get it? 'god'awful....i'll get me coat)
  4. I run a 1080TI with 1080p ultrawide. It all depends on what kind of frame rates you want. I aim for 100FPS or better. PoE doesn't get any higher than 100, and it frequently drops below it. Sometimes drops drastically lower when there's graphical bugs.
  5. I thought you could move around and retarget spells during their casting time in Deadfire?
  6. I have an ultrawide 2560x1080 monitor, and PoE runs OK on it. I mean PoE doesn't have very good performance generally, but the game works.
  7. I'm running a POTD party without a priest, just a paladin for the DR aura but nothing else for boosting deflection or other defensive attributes. My Lady of Pain character has 10 res and uses a shield + flail (Started with Gaun's Share then moved to Unforgiven, which is an excellent weapon), going to respec it lower & start using Blade of the Endless Paths once I get higher level (level 9 right now). Not having many problems. So you don't need a high res on your LoP, but you might need to use a shield for a while. I wouldn't dumpstat it though. These are the final base stats I'm aiming for although I may alter them slightly to squeeze a bit more Int out of them: -Mig 18 -Con 7 -Dex 17 -Per 17 -Int 10 -Res 7
  8. So I just unlocked The Dragon Thrashed... phrase and I'm wondering, since it has a long linger time, what happens if I just chant that same phrase over and over? Does the phrase stack with itself in terms of damage?
  9. Is it possible to complete the initial faction quests: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Built_to_Last (For the Crucible Knights) http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Rogue_Knight (For the Dozens) http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/A_Two_Story_Job (For the Doemenels) simultaneously? I want to join the Crucible Knights faction but I also want to complete Rogue Knight in order to gain access to Bilestompers.
  10. Ah well, I'll just respec into the other ability instead then Thanks for the info guys
  11. Yes, I've read that one. Doesn't answer my updated questions, but thank you anyway.
  12. The music is one of the best things about the game.
  13. It's really not. Unless you think any of the +X% damage talents is "meh", then your standards for "meh" are just vastly different I suppose. Because those generally are in the range of +10% to +20% damage, and conditional on any number of factors (weapon used, type of damage, sneak attack conditions, etc.) and/or with penalties to other stats attached (eg. Savage Attack). By comparison Confident Aim (correctly implemented) increases the mean base damage by about 8% (without conditions, other than using a weapon), and the graze to hit conversion is equivalent to about a 3% damage bonus as well (varies with accuracy, of course). Moreover, because the +8% is on the base damage it scales all regular +X% damage modifiers as well, so a crit effectively adds +54%, Might adds +3.3% per point, etc. That adds up rather quickly. A small downside is that it doesn't increase the maximum damage of course (but it does increase consistency, also valuable) so it isn't fully comparable to +X% damage, but the math very clearly points to it being at least on par with most if not all of the other +damage talents. In the current, bugged implementation, CA gives about a +48% on base damage instead and also vastly increases the maximum damage. So while not game-breaking (though no one claimed it to be, I believe), it makes it vastly overpowered; it's a bit like permanently doing Crit damage, except better because all damage bonuses are scaled up as well and you have an additional +74% damage when you genuinely do Crit. That doesn't explain it. I don't want a summary of the net effect, I want to know exactly what's happening. Is the percentage of graze->hit conversion wrong? Why is it doing more damage than normal, and on which hits is it doing this? Don't get me wrong though, I appreciate you finding the post. Edit: thank you for the PM, SRoL. The bug seems to be as follows: when loading a savegame containing a character with the CA ability, the damage multiplier is applied incorrectly and affects both the minimum damage and the maximum damage (CA is only supposed to increase minimum damage). Could not tell from the threads provided whether it's doing this when CA activates (i.e. on 20% of grazes) or all the time. If I respec to remove CA, this will remove the effect presumably?
  14. Can someone explain, in a detailed manner, exactly what this bug is (not just an example) and how it affects the game?
  15. Well I'm glad someone feels sorry for us.Really do mate Don't know why Obsi can't just slip GOG the perfectly-fine beta patch for their users. Bureaucracy.
  16. The deflection stacking bug is game breaking because it can make the game impossible to complete... Not sure why this is up for debate. Steam users can access the beta patch. I'm using it. It's fine. It's GoG users I feel sorry for.
  17. Dude. Do some side quests. Level 3 trying to Caed Nua lmao. You need tanky characters in this game, balance every squishy with at least two tanky characters like a fighter. Also, you're right about Eder, it's not obvious that he can join you at first. He is the best companion that's for sure. Personally, I'm enjoying the game more with 6 customs than I ever did with the NPCs in this game.
  18. The Blood Pool is supposed to require Cruel 1 in order to activate. I have Cruel 1, as you can see: https://s32.postimg.org/fxq79cx4l/POErep.jpg Why, then, does the Blood Pool 'search my essence' and find 'nothing of use'? Slightly confused. I am running Beta 3.03 Edit: it would appear you need to come to the pool with a sacrificial companion with you first time (I am using a custom party) so that is why it's happening I think, mystery solved
  19. So this build doesn't work anymore? Damn I was thinking finally a reason to play a Barbarian.
  20. I have a Chanter, Druid, Wizard and a Paladin, hopefully it will be enough!
  21. I'm doing POTD without a priest atm, do I get a medal?
