  1. Suuuuuuuuure you didn't call anyone a troll <_< Ok, now this game starts too. Feel free to point out where I called someone a troll. So wait, saying "No need to be jackass" ISN'T calling someone a jackass these days?...
  2. BTW, does Obsidian have schedule when it comes to patching? I decided to not play beta until equipment and characters getting stuck(or at least reloads corrupting saves) bugs are fixd
  3. <_< You DO know that classic XCOM fans were pissed off by class system in first place because of the weapon restrictions? Anyway, again, you are provoking people by calling them ass kissers. If you don't want to be called a troll, don't try to piss off people. http://kotaku.com/how-to-balance-an-rpg-1625516832 BTW heres on interview with Sawyer about balancing, I guess you should read it to confirm your views on him that you keep spouting about Try to at least give people benefit of the doubt and try to think from their perspective why they disagree with you... Some basic social empathy is good, calling everyone fanboys or trolls is rude
  4. Hey Helm, could you stop calling everyone who disagrees with you a troll? Also, stop being annoyingly smug, you are having attitude of "I'm right, you are wrong, you are troll for continuing to disagree with me because I'm right and I'm always right" <_< You don't shut off debate with "I'm right, case closed, here let me refer to people who agree with me while I'm ignoring everyone else because you are trolls" thats just plain mean And besides, doesn't beta exist for purpose of fixing the game?... It doesn't count as failure until game is released you know You seem trollish because you like saying stuff like "Sawyer failed" to provoke people
  5. People want different attributes to be useful for different builds. Making a mage-tank? Better put lots of points into CON and RES. Making a super tank fighter? Better put points into CON, RES, and INT. Making a super offensive ranger? Better put points into MIG, DEX, and PER. What about a tank ranger? Put points into CON and RES. It's all about variety and using different builds to their strength. But isn't that possible with current system? <_<
  6. The problem with that line of thinking is that there are trash mobs and they are unavoidable. You are going to fight, a lot. Also the kill xp doesn't make you do those things, that's a false assumption. No one is making you go and kill everyone for every scrap of xp. If you are talking about lions, they are perfectly avoidable even without stealth. Beetles not so much. Cultists are for most parts. But yeah, you are probably right about lot of mob fighting <_<
  7. So something I don't get <_< If you can max out perception and do just fine, what does it matter which stat you max? Like, seriously, I don't get what people want from stat systems. Apparently its not fine that some stats are non combat stats and some are combat only stats, so everything has to be useful in combat. But if all stats are useful in combat, then the stats that are dump are decided by which is slightly less effective in combat even if both are effective in combat... If the intent is to make it so that you can't have any stat be much lower than other stats, doesn't that mean you have to build characters in certain ways since otherwise character is screwed if one stat is too low? Like, only way to have all stats to be 100% equally useful is to have all stats to be exactly the same. As far as I can think of, best system is where stats lead to varied playstyles and any playstyle and stat combination is viable so anyone can pick what their personal taste is. But some people would still say that some stats are dump because their playstyle requires them to pick stats like that I'm really confused now what people want from this system <_<
  8. The character who runs up to interact with things is the character closest to them.
  9. I hope developers don't rush with beta feedback suggestions <_< I mean, like, accidentally making resolve overpowered before they make interruptions more obvious since resolve is actually not that bad stat it just isn't obvious when its being used.
  10. <_< Eh, doesn't seem to be too difficult with dumbing might, con and dex if you ask me Have you tried it? Let me guess, it is almost the same thing as simply dumping every stat. Amirite? ^^ But if you did try it, then you would still have points leftover to spend on your attributes. Hmmmm.... If you want to hear how I did it, I maxed out perception, int and resolve and had rest of stats(might/dex/con) be equal. So no, its not same as dumping every stat
  11. <_< Eh, doesn't seem to be too difficult with dumbing might, con and dex if you ask me
  12. At least so far I'm doing well with having maxed out the "dumb stats" so perhaps its not that bad... Hmm, maybe I should try out normal, I've been playing on easy because of bugs and such
  13. Seriously, its hard to keep up with conversation when there are three threads on same subject...
  14. I don't think its surprising that a beta has game breaking bugs, but I'll be surprised if they release full game and there won't be at least one bug that freaks me out. I mean, yeah, disappearing equipment bug and such break the game, but those will be definitely noticed and fixed. But same doesn't really seem to apply to quest bugs from my experience. I hate quest bugs, bugs that prevent me completing quests either at all or in one specific way. Or that game thinks I completed game in some other way. There is already one bug in other dungeon that prevents it being completed, I don't really believe that full game will have all quests to be 100% functional considering how many Black Isle and Obsidian rpgs had game breaking bugs or bugged quests. So basically, even though this beta allows all game mechanic bugs to be removed, I care more about all quests working properly so I'm worried about how the release will be considering that Wasteland 2 had update in august and it still had bugs that prevented quest being completed. Its in release for september, so I'll be surprised if California will be 100% bug free if community tested first half had quest breaking bugs this close to release
  15. It seems there might be something hidden in ogre's den <_< If you use tab to highlight stuff, one thing gets highlighted in purple that you can't click. Since purple outlines is for scout mode hidden objects... Yeah, its probably a bug you can see the outline. Can anyone check fast if there is any item there?
  16. If you find any new ones, check this thread and report them please http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/67643-spoilers-what-secrets-and-epic-loot-have-you-found-so-far/ One other one I know of from reading that thread is that there is hidden reward in room with spider queen. So thats the reward for beating her I guess
  17. There are int options, for example, with lord guy there is skill check that requires lore of 4 and high enough int
  18. Perhaps perception should raise scout mode radius or something <_< Scout mode is nice for using to find hidden objects, but you walk so slow in it so you have to get rather close to see anything...
  19. The one in ogre's den is highlighted without finding it though. But you can't click it hence why I was confused about it <_< Dang it that I didn't remember to use scout mode to check it...
  20. Well, floorboard in second floor of the inn was purple so- Oh. Ooooooooooooooh. So THATS what it was. I was wondering same thing earlier, but didn't think of using scout mode <_< I think its bug it gets highlighted before scout mode is used, but yeah, purple outline is used for scout mode hidden objects, so thats probably what it is
  21. I dunno. Roleplaying purpose maybe? That's at least my reason for taking high perception. Of course if they tweak it and make it more useful I would not complain. It keeps happening to me! Fallout: Chooses high luck, int and charisma Arcanum: Trying to balance beauty, charisma, int, perception, will ...I think I have bit of a thing where I favor non physical stats unlike anyone else who wants to be beast in combat <_< But yeah, seriously though, I always prefer speech option choices to combat choices and then get annoyed when people make me feel I'm playing wrong xD
