  1. Would be nice if you could move camera also with WASD keys
  2. Characters move oddly fast Also, it'd be nice if you could move camera also with wasd keys <_< I prefer moving camera before clicking and I don't really like moving camera with mouse. So I'm resorting to crossing my arms and using right hand on mouse while at same time having left on arrow keys
  3. Title. BTW, female amauma have only two heads while all other race choices have at least three, is that intended or are more head models and portraits going to be added on release? Just like how there are more voices in final release?
  4. So turns out that after you have saved once on trial mode, you can't overwrite the old save <_< Or if you can, its really hard to figure out how. Which is problematic since i planned to play ALL of my beta games on that mode due to fact they are short playthroughs. Makes bug reporting a problem..
  5. So umm, after entering the second floor on inn, everyone in party suddenly started walking in slow motion <_< And it didn't stop when I left the inn, made things unbearably slow I don't have a file since... Well, turns out that you can't save in trial of iron mode Or if you can, its either automatic or unclear
  6. AFTERNOON? D: B-but what will I be doing at the morning?... Totally the worst final day of vacation ever
  7. I'm dying from waiting and from being excited
  8. Ah well, at least I have one day full of freedom with beta before my studies start... Darn end of vacations
  9. Huh? But it IS Gamescon demo <_< The Gamescom demo refers to the gameplay demonstrated at Gamescon, not the entirety of the backer beta. Oh, ok
  10. Huh? But it IS Gamescon demo <_<
  11. Hey, if you ask from me, I don't think all RPG types necessarily need levels at all xP But in this type of RPG? Well, that'd be boring, it means that ALL enemy threats in one chapter would have to be balanced for exact same level and abilities characters have at that level. And since you can't become stronger during the chapter, you will be using same skills for whole chapter. Doesn't sound like very good pacing. I suppose it could be done if chapters are really short, but yeah, in game like this that is supposed to be lengthy, that doesn't sound very exciting. Besides, everyone here probably likes the feeling of "Yes, more exp, I have soon progressed enough to level up" I personally like lack of enemy exp since it means game doesn't enforce the feeling that I HAVE to kill the enemies, or otherwise I become too weak. So if I do want to kill everything, its because I chose to and not because game mechanics forced me to. Now on hypothetical "Sneak past enemies to get exp", well, okay, let's say you sneak past the beetles and get exp on other side of the field. Should you also get exp if you instead go around the beetles without ever getting close to them? Like, if there are two roads that lead to place you want to get to, one of them has beetles and one of them has nothing on it. Should you also get exp for choosing the road that has nothing in it despite the fact that isn't challenge at all? I guess you could argue that you get exp for being smart and avoiding the risk, but... Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that'd be too easy. So if you only get exp for choosing the road with beetles and either fighting them or sneaking past them, then the game is telling you "Don't choose the road with nothing, since you don't get any exp at all" Oops, I wasn't supposed to come back before beta release ^^; Anyway, thank you for not insulting me, I'll try to keep my break until beta release... I'll go to play something to distract me from Internet, but yeah, let's continue this debate later, feel free to reply but I'll try avoid replying until I have played the beta
  12. Came back to point out that I never actually called anyone here stupid nor did I say I hate anyone in this thread I'm really bad at avoiding troll bait it seems. That makes me pretty stupid unfortunately And I like how "worthy of exp" sounds like its some kind of measure. Since the objective exp system isn't about which tasks are "worth" the exp. Its more about game designer having more precise control over player's level since they can't level grind so max level player can have at any encounter is known by the designer. Eh, I have nothing to say on romance. I think as concept it as potential, but most of the time its just done horribly so unless writer has good idea, better just ignore it. Anyway, yeah, I'll try to not take any more trollbait from you, so if you would be nice and help me, please don't try to troll me by insulting me to get me reply further, okay? I know trolls don't really play nice, but hey, nothing preventing me from asking nicely
  13. Its about 8:00 soon, so if we indeed have to wait until its morning in USA... Well, yeah, I have only two days left before my studies start so would be more fun to have two complete days instead of one and barely quarter
  14. You are the one using "LMAO" or "O RLY" and using ridiculous insults like "immature face" while calling yourself "Hardcore Gamer". And when PrimeJunta was like "**** this, I'm outta here", you took time to insult him <_< Just saying, that besides being a troll, you aren't exactly showing the most mature behavior here. And honestly, while I have this weird fascination with trying to make sense of most volatile discussion and trying to calm them down really badly(I suck at calming people down), I draw my line when I spot an actual troll, so I think I'm going to return next time after the beta is released Bye, have fun with whatever you guys are doing, see you later!
  15. So do we Europeans have to wait until its morning in America?
  16. <_< Wow, you REALLY are a troll ._.; Yeah, you are smart for doing that. Plus apparently this thread does actually have trolling in it
  17. Why can't this thread be locked? Nobody says anything new and it has gotten to the point where people insult each other and when someone wisely quits other side is like "HAHAH, I'M WINNER FOR TIRING OUT THE OPPOSITION THROUGH BULLCRAP" This conversation is fricking cyclical, One side says x other side says y, the first side replies with z, other side replies with b, first side replies with x, other side replies with y, etc this conversation isn't fricking productive when everyone keeps saying same thing over and over and acts incredibly smug about it Everyone in this thread is either strawmanning each other, ignoring their arguments in favor of "I'm right" or making really illogical arguments. Dang it, today(in my timezone at least, though they probably wait until its 12 AM in america or something... Stupid America centric timezones, I don't want to wait until 20:00 to get my beta key) is the day when beta is released so at least try it out first before continuing this discussion. AND everyone keeps putting words into each other mouth and appears to have really bad reading comprehension problems... This thread gives me headache, but its like watching a trainwreck...
  18. Tbh, I don't even think most of those guys are repulsed by combat experience, I think they just feel the need to defend the game for some reason. I say this because the system we want, where kills/stealth/talking/etc grant xp, wouldn't take away anything from them as this system does for us. So you think its not possible that we genuinely think its great idea to not reward exp for individual kills?
  19. I don't really get what is the problem here.
  20. And neither it means it wouldn't be good. And dang it, don't reply to same person in two different posts you post twice in row It makes it harder to reply
  21. Romance is hardly a game Mechanic.. Arguing about romance plots is like arguing what mage robes look like or what the plot of the game is about. AKA.. It's not that important and highly subjective. This topic is more important IMO Dunno, so far this topic IS very subjective. Has anyone said anything that in the end doesn't amount to "No, I like exp for killing enemies, here's why you are wrong" "No, I like exp for objectives better, here's why you are wrong"? And reading through this thread gives me headache since lots of time people ignore what other people have actually said in order to nitpick something or just say same thing over and over <_< This argument has become really cyclical and its annoying since nobody is saying anything new. I'd just agree to disagree, but I'm addicted to debates it seems xP
  22. Dunno why anyone would be angry with it unless it comes at expense of resources used at game
  23. I'm not saying that MOBA players don't like other type of games. I meant that I don't see a reason that they would like this game BECAUSE they like MOBAs. Does that sentence make sense? I'm not native English speaker. Also, you just said "casual" players <_< Most of casual players don't play games that require lot of time per playtime. I mean, maybe they have 100 hours spent into multiplayer games, but most casual players I have talked to don't play rpgs and such singleplayer games that require lot of time. Sorry, i meant casual MOBA players, not casual gamers in general. Ah, I was confused there for a second, now your post makes more sense.
  24. Fixed. Go burn your straw man in someone else's face. So can I just ask, why exactly the combat is pointless without exp rewards?... And if its pointless without exp rewards, why the hell combat isn't pointless in Shadowrun, VtM Bloodlines, Deus Ex, etc? Bloodlines isn't a combat focused game. *Please Read Thread From Beginning For your Answer* Shadow Run is an episodic game. There is no open world. You are on rails fighting the same things before the same event happens. There is no fork in the road. Wether each mob gave x amount of xp or the end of the level gives x amount xp doesn't matter. There's only one direction to go and there's no turning back. Deus Ex? you may wanna play that game again.. You get XP for everything.. Bad example for your case. Just like the guy who used Mass Effect as an example when you actually DO get kill xp in the ME games. Huh, I guess I remembered Deus Ex wrong. Also, Bloodlines combat was still pretty fun if you ask me And point was that there are examples of games were combat isn't pointless just because you don't get exp per enemy. Besides, in Shadowrun returns you CAN sometimes avoid enemies, but yeah, I admit that most of levels, especially in main game, are rather linear. But yeah, I'm not sure how the fact that most of enemy encounters are mandatory changes the thing.
