  1. Yep. Part of me doesn't want to put in the time or energy to try and patch up the relationship, but I'll talk it over with my wife and see how it goes. Bleh, not exciting.
  2. I haven't been able to sell or rent PC games for over 20 years, retailers caught on to that one pretty quick where I live. I also haven't shared games since college, very few of my friends even play games anymore. Steam has vastly improved my gaming in the last couple years. They have better bargain bins than brick and mortar shops, I don't have to dig out CD's, and their offline mode actually works decently now so I can game on the road. Now they are offering to let me share my games with all my faraway friends? That sounds like a pure bonus.
  3. I think LadyC should get a Harley and some leathers and join a biker gang. Also if she is going to get a sports car in the bay area, she needs to get a Tesla, they are the hot item nowadays. I've been estranged from my parents and sisters for a little over a year now, and my sister sent me a text yesterday. It read: "Hi Patrick, how r u? How r the kids? What is your favorite hockey team?" My first reaction was:
  4. Modders rock, someone implemented driving. http://youtu.be/oy01Elx48TQ
  5. Don't worry about that, that's what we are here for!
  6. I was wondering if that little tidbit would ever come out!
  7. You can disable those notices. I have most game updates ignored on my account.
  8. Unless the poster isn't really buying the games, which simply means they place little value on their own time. We all use these forums to air our grievances, but there is a point where it is good to move on.
  9. I played the Undead solo and was happy with them, so I'm sticking to it. And this game makes me feel like a wet behind the ears 12-year old
  10. I'm reading that as well, Rothfuss is a pretty great writer.
  11. I definitely enjoyed Breaking Bad. Poor Jesse. It will be a tough wait for the finale.
  12. At the end of the year when the grades are done, I show Firefly episodes to my students, and they always laugh at the terrible mandarin. Many of my students are very fluent.
  13. I doubt it, the game is being developed for the 360. They haven't talked about making it next-gen.
  14. Cable is really where it is at for giving shows a chance to mature and develop. The major networks are terrible about that, and Fox is probably the quickest at pulling the trigger. Fox is also the quickest to put outside the box programming up, so it's a bit hard to hate them completely.
  15. Well, I'll learn as I go I suppose, I just thought they looked cool. What's a good beginner team? edit: Read over the guide, I might try undead instead.
  16. Geez, that was an ugly one. It must have caught a good wind, it looks like a pop fly coming off the bat.
  17. The pilot and the movie are pretty different, in fact they change the story quite a bit with Simon taking a more active role in the rescue of his sister. I was very bummed about Firefly being cancelled, but then we got a movie and that wrapped up a decent amount of plot lines for my tastes. I'm not bitter about it and I love watching all the Firefly actors find success elsewhere.
  18. Ok I joined...seems a bit confusing. I made a brand new necromantic team and they look like they will be terrible.
  19. I'm really enjoying the way the A's keep getting it done. I'm more of a Giants fan, but they are still a local team so I'm happy to see them succeed, and the way they do it with a small budget and few big names is just fantastic.
  20. http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/09/14/obama-to-labor-unions-multi-employer-health-plans-drop-dead/?partner=yahootix Obama the Labor Union killer? I'm not sure how widespread the impact of this is, since it only affects small businesses that are part of larger Union groups. But it is an interesting wrinkle in Obamacare.
  21. Bono is to blame! I've never trusted U2.
  22. There is no way they go after Bonds for obstruction of justice of he isn't Barry Bonds. The perjury charges were a stretch and he wasn't convicted of them. Basically he was put on trial for not telling the truth (while not fully lying), which is absolutely ridiculous. The slap on the wrist is simply something they wouldn't bother with if it was some no name guy, but they wanted to make an example of him. We are going after a baseball player for being evasive in front of a grand jury about performance enhancing drugs. I really can't think of anything that sounds more silly. In the baseball world Bonds is going to suffer the consequences, which is more understandable. Him and Roger Clemens should be obvious 1st ballot HoFers, but instead they are going to get the cold shoulder for a bit. But it would also be ridiculous not to have them in the HoF, because they absolutely dominated their era of the game, even if it was the steroid era.
  23. Fallout 3 is the only Bethesda game I've ever finished. So I'll give that an edge. But it could just be I prefer the Post Apoc. setting to their fantasy one.
  24. Somebody should go after the prosecutors for a colossal waste of taxpayers dollars on the Bonds case.
  25. I'm giving Dishonored another shot, I'm not sure why I stopped playing it originally. I am enjoying the setting and the writing. Hopefully I'll be able to devote some time to it. I'm also toying with Blood Bowl. I'm learning new stuff every game, but I'm still terrible. The pre-game options are mind boggling.
