  1. I'd blame the Chief's defense before anything else. Dwayne Bowe had a great game, as did Alex Smith. Those injuries were a killer too, you lose your running backs, you lose the ability to eat up clock easily. Also Andy Reid turned that program around, they were 2-14 last year. I don't have much of an interest in the Eagles/Saints game, but I'm curious to see if this college style playcalling can get the Eagles deep in the playoffs.
  2. I have heard some pretty terrible things about the Colts ownership. However, everyone in the 49ers organization has had nothing but great things to say about Alex Smith. The fact is you can only start one QB, and they had to choose between Kaep or Smith. As is, both guys have benefited from the current situation, so I don't see why you are negative about it. They are winning football games. Kaep is only in his first year, especially as more of a pocket passer. In a few years we will have a better idea on whether it was the right or wrong choice to keep him. I'm not really sure, potentially I see that Kaep has an exciting skillset that can dominate a game, but I also think he hasn't been tested yet and injuries can change things quick. Alex Smith is an extremely smart and tough QB, and I'm rooting for him to get one more score here in the 4th. But even if he doesn't, he's done everything he could to give KC a chance to win.
  3. Do you think the Colts made the right choice when it came to letting Manning go?
  4. Bridges are toll roads, most of them can be avoided by taking longer routes around. I cross over the Golden Gate north a couple times a year, and then use the Richmond Bridge to go back south. That avoids the tolls altogether, since they only charge you one way.
  5. Pretty sure that the Golden gate is the first bridge to try and stop using tollgates, and rely completely on the fastpass system.

    Hometown announcers are the best
  7. Right now I'm hanging out in the RV in Marin, getting ready to take the ferry into San Francisco. I think we will be exploring the Presidio today. I bought a new mattress for the bed in the RV, and it made a huge difference in our sleep quality.
  8. Yes, what a **** move, giving away games for free.
  9. Slow news day?
  10. Pretty deep into Divine Divinity. I think I avoided it because of the terrible name, but it has been a great surprise. I will be jumping right into the sequel when I finish.
  11. I think you can still play Vanguard, actually. Also I'd call City of Heroes a success, it ran with a good sub base for a number of years.
  12. I've never really understood resolutions. If I want to make a change, I usually just start then, regardless of the calendar. That being said, I hope to keep running regularly in the year to come, and pay down some more debt.
  13. Some people just don't like to be happy. This is a terribly niche game, with or without the M&M name. It will not sell millions, so it's shocking that Ubisoft is publishing it at all. Also, what exactly is the value of the M&M name? It is used for all sorts of crazy things, including a match 3 puzzle game. The fact that we are returning to the game play of World of Xeen is exciting.
  14. I've played the game and it rocks, so what ev. Knocking the old school movement for being old school kind of misses the point of the game. Also I think you'd be surprised by the budget, while it surpasses Legend of Grimrock, it is a small budget game.
  15. I ordered a woman's shooting vest for my wife on some hunting website, since the one I picked up on Amazon didn't fit right. Now I'm probably on some government watchlist
  16. Divine Divinity - I'm really enjoying this, it's amazing that it took so long for me to give it a try.
  17. Merry Christmas folks!
  18. Do I have a few months to help my students develop psionic powers? I'm pretty sure they can win that way. Anyways I don't agree with censorship, I was just illustrating what the logic might be. I would say it is the responsibility of the parents and the community to keep young folk away from the hardcore stuff. For example, if you want a pen, do not visit Pen Island.com.
  19. It should totally be in the fourth person perspective, that's where the future lies. You don't even have to be at a computer to play the game that way.
  20. Why are you calling young children idiots? Seems a little extreme, even for you.
  21. Played a few rounds of BF4, and I am terrible. Managed to get a k/d ratio of 0.22, so yeah. I did get better by the last round at least. This game is insane though. I was riding on a gunboat, and the weather picked up. We were crashing into huge waves, and I was using a chaingun to tear down the foliage on the small islands nearby. It was intense. I've really never seen anything as amazing as this game, and it's crazy to think I'm playing it with 60+ other people. Technology has come a long way.
  22. It can potentially be an 11-5 team that doesn't make it, The Cards can win and still miss the playoffs. All that has to happen is the Saints beat Tampa, and that's pretty likely.
  23. I would assume it's more to protect people from stumbling onto porn through Google. For example, if I do a search for Bust of David when looking for Renaissance sculptures, and end up with a different kind of bust. That being said, I am not a fan of censorship and would rather parents be the responsible party here.
