  1. Ugh, other people? Plus I don't know how to spreadsheet. edit: I tried spreadsheeting a bit in college, but it just wasn't for me. No judgement though.
  2. I was looking for a decent spaceship game recently. I tried to get back into No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous, and X4 Foundations, but none of them did the trick. So I ended up playing Star Traders: Frontiers. Sure enough, that scratched the itch. It has a great balance of crew management, ship combat, planet exploration, and story.
  3. I have mixed feelings on the whole JK Rowlings thing. I certainly don't put her on a pedestal. But at this point, the whole Harry Potter IP is way bigger than her narrow opinions. The development team that made Hogwarts Legacy certainly doesn't deserve to be condemned for her actions.
  4. Thanks for checking in @Guard Dog and I hope your health continues to improve. I am spending the day at @Gromnir's alma matter for a field hockey tournament. It has been raining all day, but I still got a nice run in through the hills. My daughter's team is getting killed on the field though. Cal Berkeley is a beautiful campus even in the rain.
  5. I'm currently reading Trevor Noah's biography and I'm guessing SA isn't as perfect as some people portray it here. Granted it is probably fine if you meet certain pigment criteria.
  6. Cyberpunk is great and apparently has continued to sell well. It was just buggy when it came out.
  7. I'm pretty excited to play Hogwarts Legacy, as a person who owns a wand purchased at Ollivanders, and visits the Universal Studios park regularly, and rewatches the movies. But I decided to wait to buy it because I'm busy right now, and after hearing about the bugs, I'm pretty happy about that. I look forward to playing it in a couple months when you two have worked out all of the bugs in the game.
  8. The seasons are all fairly short, as are the episodes. It's easily my favorite comedy. I've rewatched quite a few seasons.
  9. Silo was a decent book, so it will be interesting to see if they can pull the movie off. I think I lost interest in the series at some point, though. Ghosted looks fun. Citadel looks terrible. Stanley Tucci sounded bored. I'm a Virgo looks weird and will probably be the best of the bunch.
  10. Travis Kelce hosted SNL, and he is surprisingly good. His monologue is probably the best one outside of the stand comedians that host. I was pretty surprised that a football player was so good, but I guess I shouldn't, given the amount of players that became decent actors.
  11. I'm pretty sure you can turn the lights off. There is an app for it.
  12. So, I'm a bit embarrassed, but I wimped out on building it and bought a Skytech prebuilt rig. Sorry. I kept trying to price out a build and always went over my budget, and I was worried about the OS situation. It did arrive on time and was nice and shiny under the Xmas tree. https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-000Z-000S1?Item=9SIA08CJJ14070&utm_medium=email&utm_source=transactional&cm_mmc=TEMC-Shipping-Tracking-Notification-USA&utm_campaign=TEMC-Shipping-Tracking-Notification-USA It was $600, which was hard to beat.
  13. Wait, you buy console exclusive games and then throw them in the trash? That's pretty weird.
  14. Traditionally Peter Pan had no schlong, as he was usually played by a woman.
  15. My first Peter Pan experience was in the theatre, which sounds fancy. It was fantastic watching the actors fly around the stage. I was pretty young, but I still remember it fondly.
  16. I've started a new game of Kingdom Come. I played it when it came out originally and enjoyed it, but now I have the DLC. I just finished Theresa's story, and boy is she a more interesting character than Henry. It's actually a bit hard to go back to playing Henry the Dolt after Theresa and her very well done prologue. By the end of her short story, she was a master locksmith, she saved a bunch of people, she had first aid skills, and took down a bunch of Cumans with her sharpshooting skills. Oh and she had a wonderful dog. I mean, Henry is fine, but he doesn't really match up. edit: doh, meant to put this in a different thread. I have no screenshots for you people.
  17. I'm not sure what looks dreadful about it. Granted it lacks the campiness of Hook, but it looks like a pretty standard Peter Pan flick.
  18. The last couple weeks I've been trying to get into a regular routine at the pool, and today I started to see decent gains in my swim times. I always feel good after the workout, but getting up at 4:30, getting to the pool at 5, and swimming for 45 minutes is not the easiest schedule to keep. It doesn't help that it is super cold, windy, and rainy right now and it is an outdoor pool. At least it is heated, so once I get out of my car, there is a lot of motivation to get into the water ASAP. I have a half ironman in Morro Bay in May, so I really need to stick with the schedule for the next couple months.
  19. Maybe during the Vietnam war, but without a draft, most US recruits are coming from the middle class and are predominately white. https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/demographics-us-military#chapter-title-0-7 So uh, no. Your statement hold no merit.
  20. Honestly, looking back over the last year, Rings of Power was the only show that I was excited to watch every week. I have a bunch of unfinished seasons of other stuff. My wife and I just finished Vikings Valhalla and it's good, but wasn't must watch TV. I guess Reacher might be 2nd place in that list. That was a pretty fun show too. Surprisingly both of those are on Amazon Prime. Nothing on Disney+ or Netflix stood out to me this year. Peacemaker on HBO was pretty good, but it's another one where I'm not dying for season 2.
  21. Friendly reminder that if you posted on the Interplay forums, it's time to get your colon checked.
  22. That's quite a clickbait-y title. It should read "Movie may come out in 3-5 years covering similar Tolkien material." I doubt it conflicts at all. Either RoP will be firmly established, or it will already be cancelled by the time a movie comes out.
  23. Mrs. Hurlshot definitely phoned it in a bit on the competition. She has always been really good at cooking meat (I tend to handle vegetables) but I'm pretty sure she was throwing it. She was also a couple glasses of chardonnay in. Morgan Hill and Gilroy are pretty decent agricultural areas, even with all the development in recent years. My wife grew up here and can do all the weird farm stuff like strangling chickens or whatever. I'm a city boy compared to her. The High School has a functioning farm with livestock. I was surprised my daughter joined up, but her options for chemistry this year were a teacher she already struggled with or Soil Chem on the FFA track. She is getting good grades in Soil Chem, so I think she made the right choice. She also seems to enjoy the competition side of it and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. We have plenty of friends with livestock on their property, so she is getting her animal husbandry credit there. I'm not building a chicken coop, no matter how much my wife and daughter bug me about it.
