  1. We finished cleaning out our old house yesterday and gave the keys back to the landlord. There was an awkward moment where he asked us if we were going to clean the fridge. I told him he needs to have a cleaning crew come in. He acted put out. I just ignored it, but I was trying hard not to roll my eyes. We lived there for 5 years, we aren't going to scrub it down for you. He needs to paint it and clean it. We paid his mortgage and took good care of the property, but we are moving on. I'm excited not to have to worry about a landlord anymore. Now it's time to unpack the new place.
  2. Iron Oath is releasing version 1.0. It sounds like a good Battle Brothers type game, so I'm picking it up. It's quite a good price. https://www.gog.com/game/the_iron_oath
  3. So. Much. Moving. I miss the days in college where I could pack all of my belongings into a compact car. Getting married and having kids comes with a lot of baggage. That being said, the new house is great. My fridge communicates with me now and can tell me when the kids leave the door open too long. I'm exhausted.
  4. Surely that would be a poor use of the word. Atheism is a very specific rejection of beliefs. It's a fairly hard-line stance. Technically the US doesn't have a state religion.
  5. This comment seemed odd to me, so I looked up the top irreligious countries. In my mind, there really isn't any country that is atheist. There are countries that actively crack down on religion, sure, but are there countries that just lack a belief in some sort of religion? Wikipedia results are murky, so I'll have to do more research. Also I'm pretty sure Lexx must be Swedish with that statement, but he could also be Vietnamese.
  6. Miracles and Magic would seem to be inherently different. Magic, according to fantasy rules, can be reproduced. There is typically a method or a system to it. Miracles are, by their very nature, unusual and unpredictable. Jesus didn't turn water into wine at every meal, I'd imagine. Herb Brooks wasn't a wizard, beating the USSR was a one-time deal. As for WoT, the show sucks and the people are all unlikeable.
  7. I've actually started to take the train with my bike, which cuts it down to 10 miles each way, so that's been great. I am moving further down the tracks, but it won't change my commute time by much.
  8. We bought a house. Well, a townhome, but it's pretty nice. We have been renting for about 15 years, so it is a big deal. We just cleared to close, so sometime next week we will get the keys and start moving.
  9. Yeah, the story in NMS was a big nothingburger for me.
  10. So Florida spent 1.5 million dollars flying Venezuelan refugees from Texas to Martha's Vineyard as part of a political stunt. How do people vote for these clowns?
  11. It also seems incredibly early to write off a medium sized game like Lamplighters. It's been a week, give the game some time to grow.
  12. I've downloaded it, but haven't played it yet. Bummer.
  13. It is a big deal. An active sitting president showed up at a picket line. That gives the UAW a tremendous card (maybe not a trump card) in negotiations. This whole statement seems dismissive of the picket line as an important part of the labor rights process. If you have been sitting on the picket line for a month and the President of the country shows up in support, it's a pretty big deal to you.
  14. But it ends with such a zinger! I'll never understand how the working class can think Republicans represent their interest any better than dems. Heck, Biden actually showed up on the picket line recently. I can't imagine Trump siding with a union in any universe.
  15. Started playing Wartales, despite having a ton of other games on my docket. But they added helmets and it does make a difference!
  16. Didn't there use to be a poll feature? He needs a ring before that comparison works though.
  17. I think we've established that we have different tastes.
  18. I think it was Troubleshooter, but I checked into it, and you've reviewed 51 games! You are prolific. @Tale Might have you beat. He's reviewed 90 games. I see him a lot too.
  19. Yep. Most were over an hour, so it still took me awhile to get through it.
  20. I finished season 4 of Jack Ryan, which I believe concludes the series. It was pretty well done overall. Good performances and great looking scenes. It did feel more Michael Bay than Tom Clancy in a lot of spots, but I got over that in season 2. Season 1 and 3 are still the highlights, but it ended on a high note. Mike November and Greer are the real stars of the show. Ryan is still a bit too much of a James Bond.
  21. The only difference between Obama's, Trump's, and Biden's immigration policies is advertising. All three are human rights travesties. Trump is just the only one who is proud of it.
  22. I like that Steam reviews put people on my friends list at the top. @melkathi has reviewed everything. But seriously, I usually just read a few and can get a pretty decent idea if the reviews are any use. Of course the AAA just gets a lot of random haters, but it's not like those games don't have enough exposure to overcome that.
  23. Finished up Mandalorian Season 3. It was pretty great and I'm enjoying the focus on Mandalore. There were also a few really good standalone episodes in this one. There is an entire episode on Coruscant that really focus on two characters, and it was phenomenal. There was also a fun one with Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd.
  24. Dangit, I'm playing LotRO too. Must be something in the water here.
