  1. Calax being brutally murdered.. In F:NV http://i.imgur.com/ObFp9ow.webm
  2. Purple Hair is playing Wasteland 2 and I'm kicking butt in PoE as a druid with a short temper. Great game so far - interesting npc characters although they do suffer from something Obsidian tend to do.. making them all a little too interesting. Of course that just calls for replays, so that's not really an issue.
  3. I thought it was perfectly clear - I refused the quest from the crucible knight because he downright said - this'll make you unpopular with the 2 other factions.. The dozen said the same when I took their quest. In political reality (which this somewhat tries to represent) if you clearly allign yourself with one group (which you did), who are opposed to others, then it's hardly a wonder that the other groups can't be seen with you.. It would hurt their own political agenda. I'm seriously not getting the outrage here.
  4. One way to interpret that is; that it's easier to aim/stabilize a heavy weapon when you're strong - better aim means hitting where it hurts. And why is it inconsistent that might is required to cast spells, if the lore explains that magic requires strength? That seems perfectly consistent to me....
  5. Thread pruned (and pruning in progress) Let's try to keep it civil here folks. I'm slowly losing patience...
  6. They stay for a day or two, unless you rest in another inn. At least they did for me in the previous patch too.
  7. I might see the fan edit everyone talked about, editing out many scenes, some of the silliest CGI and all of the romance. Keeping it much closer to the book and a just about 4 hours in total.
  8. They removed the sound....
  9. Most of you have probably already heard this - but for those who haven't try listening to this article on Bhutan Passports on Wikipedia (press play on the far right).
  10. Haha, Raithe.. of course I totally got that joke... but if you could explain it for... my friend.. that would awesome.
  11. It's certainly interesting, I've been very sympathetic to many of the grass root organisations that have talked about this issue. Like Occupy, Zeitgeist etc, but now they are slowly creeping in to mainstream media and politics. A political party recently formed here, it's political policies are all completely open source and they very openly disagree with the current growth paradigm, something that was unthinkable just 5-6 years ago. I wonder if it's the Marxism of the age, or if it is indeed the signs of change..
  12. It seems to be focused on the influence on kids, so they probably don't have an issue with GTA.. But I'm guessing the issue is because it's possible / easier to make seditious messages as part of the game world and Turkey is pretty anti 'antigovernment'.
  13. Replaying it on the tablet and I have to say though - it's a tight game, the areas are just short and full enough of content, that you never really feel they are dragging on (except Taris if you replay too soon of course). But I also find it interesting that there is so much underlying complexity that is never used, Juhani could easily have been a complex character like in KOTOR2 - they way they just brushed off the destruction of Taris with her and how angry she really should've been with you. With an influence system and more complex consequences to dialouge options, she could've been really awesome actually.
  14. Contiuing from here. For the uninitiated: The 'Gamergate' controversy started in early 2013, as the release of Zoe Quinn's "Depression Quest" was criticized from gamers who believed that the game had received a suspicious amount of attention in relation to it's quality and scope. Eron Gjoni (Zoe's ex boyfriend) wrote a blogpost accusing Quinn of having had an affair with Kotaku journalist Grayson, prompting the critics to conclude that the attention and success of "Depression Quest" was due in part to unfair bias and nepotism in the industry. Several articles from both sides of the issue has highlighted inconsistencies in the stories of both Grayson, Quinn and Eron as well as the many other examples that have followed. Gamergate is wideley seen in the public, as a culture war over the diversification of gaming, artistic recognition and social criticism of video games and the gamer social identity. For the posters in this thread: Many bloggers and populists have tried to steer the discussion into areas they feel are the underlying issue - ranging from simple bias, to widespread misogny or misandry. I would however prefer that we keep this discussion as objective and clean as possible and so I will be keeping an a extra close eye on this thread. This certainly does not mean that you may not discuss any issue you feel, but rather that you should be thoughtful of how you discuss it with those you disagree with. Especially in regards to these three guidelines: Discrimination: Obsidian has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to racial, ethnic, gender, religious, disablement, and/or sexually discriminating remarks. Harassment: We ask that the users of this board treat one another with respect, even when opinions differ. 15. Closed due to length, new thread here.
  16. For the console crowd who wanted pc prices and mods, I imagine its something of god send.
  17. Those a basically European prices, of course that means we'll be getting 'Rape & Pillage' prices. As $ = € for valve.. So ~800€ for the cheaper Steam Machines. Yeah, definitly gonna make my own
  18. Yeah I think I'll probably end up building a rig myself in line with one of the Steam Machine's specs, that way I know that games will generally be better optimized towards that build and hopefully the components will be a bit cheaper too with the likely higher supply.
  19. As per the last installment. Romance in PoE Thread Rules - This thread is for people who wish to actually discuss the roleplaying merits of romances (or lack thereof) in regards to Pillars of Eternity. You can lament or celebrate that they are not included, argue why the game would have been better or worse, give examples from games that did it well or did it poorly, talk about modding efforts to add it in, or discuss how it might be included in future expansions or installments and anything related to those subjects, etc. - Anyone posting simply to make fun of or abuse people who like or dislike romance or to point out how often this topic has been done before will find their posts deleted. If the thread goes off-topic or gets very hostile, it will get pruned. - Other romance threads will either be deleted or merged into this one. Knock yourselves out.
  20. Please discuss the topic, rather than the posters - I see a little too much implied hostility towards disagreeing parties. Also closing this thread and staring anew here, sans derailment.
  21. yep, a lot of thr critique is that they havent changed at all and are just rehearsing the old cliches (and adding new bad ones)
  22. There are certainly cases like that, but we get a load of benefits not seen many other places. From restrictions on chemicals in foods and other products to privacy laws (which could still be a lot better). All in all I feel the Eu works fairly well in my favor. Corruption is unfortunately a part of the game of big government and we have to be vigilant. But I see no Eu conspiracy here.
  23. you're right, Twilight and 50 Shades og Grey are literary masterpieces..
