  1. Interestingly, a new political part is gaining grounds here rapidly (just formed this year and already looking to take 2-8% of the votes in the election in 2 weeks) - Ominously called "The Alternative", which seems to wanna take the first step towards a post material society. A "Citizen's Pay", heavy focus on social entrepreneurship, a gradual shift away from industrial jobs, a redefinition of the industrial and economical growth paradigm.. Instead making society focus on the growth of happiness, renewability and ecological harmony. Open source democracy with Political Workshops open for every citizen to attend and completely open books as to how they get funding etc etc. I hope it gains grounds, it would be cool if Scandinavia could spearhead the way into a 21st century economy. Edit: of course at the same time we have 20% voting for a party which actively seeks to deport an entire immigrant family if one of the kids is convicted of a crime - even if he's 3rd generation Danish. So yeah...
  2. To me the best fallout game ever made would be a cross between Red Dead Redemption and New Vegas. American Post Apoc is inherently a western and sci fi subgenre, I really wish they'd explore that more fully. Especially looking at the source materiel of Wasteland and the original fallout, with its inspiration from Mad Max (wish is sort of an Australian western), A Boy and His Dog and campy 50s sci fi. It needs a little more open world roaming, with cars or horses, and a little more campy 80s crazyness. edit: And in that vein I'm hoping the Mad Max game delivers...
  3. Well, I don't know there's been some pretty good open world games.. What constitutes "satisfying enough" for you?
  4. Mad Max Fury Road - hot damn what a ride. It gets a little boring in the middle, but then it picks right up again. Gotta love a movie that dares to be limited by what it is and then excel at it.
  5. They were nuclear fuel cells... but I can live with that, I can live with pocket lasers and orbital bombers and Liberty Robots. It goes with the setting, it's sci fi gone wild and free of restrictions. But a postapoc junkie still needs food though that part we can agree on. They did add the obligatory farm outside each skyrim hold, but learned their lesson? meh, not really. Perhaps they will in F4 though, would certainly improve the game drastically... I doubt the characters will be more interesting though.
  6. I can agree on that, but I really wish they made more logically consistent worlds - as one youtuber kept asking (someone posted a video of him here)... "What do they eat?" .. This is really the only gripe for me with Bethesda's world building. They don't really consider details all that important except for the atmospheric ones.
  7. I think open world post-apoc is one of the best genres there is - so that's great. But I didn't really enjoy Bethesda's handling of Fallout as much as I wanted, so I'm cautiously happy. It'll of course be a rather bland, but very atmospheric game, like they always are.. And those are fun enough.
  8. Kung fury as well. That's a crazy movie right there..
  9. I imagine a plate mail would be valuable to them, but yeah seems very excessive.
  10. We'll always have Xenonauts
  11. Coherence, in the vein of Primer and other mind bend movies. Interesting indie flick, who sticks loyaly to its gimmick.
  12. Its funny how the formulaic approach can be fresh when on a new medium. But yeah, interesting.
  13. What is this, invasion of the body snatchers? I don't trust you guys unless you're cynical and world weary..
  14. I tried as well, I couldn't get past the rat king thing .. the combat and interface is sooo clunky.
  15. I've actually always thought level restrictions for armor and weapons was such an arbitrary restrictions that is hard to qualify within the game world - unless it's a straight loot-em up.. I mean why can't Geralt use this almost identical chainmail armor? What makes it so much harder to use?
  16. Tis' the point my friend - to laugh at how much of prick he is, among other things. North European humor in general requires you to understand what is going on, how it's satirically handling the subject and how the humor is often actually satirically handling it's own interpretation of the subject. In short - unless you get the culture, it's gonna be ****e.
  17. Well there's alot of very desperate people out there and Ive heard NY goes alittle extra on the crazy. So not that impossible, but good on him for wanting to change. I imgaine he must've done some pretgy shameful things.
  18. Or if you play on mobile devices.. Also like your comparison so far and agree with some of your points. But I will say that I think PoE is the better game, simply because it explores some of the prevalent cultural themes of it's contemporary time better imo. Will be interesting to see if it ages as well as BG however.
  19. U WHAT M8!? Why the game didn't give me the chance to throttle the guy then and there for asking my help to seduce my wife.. I'll never know.. I do know that he died very, very, very horribly later.. in a completely unrelated accident.
  20. I'd help you out, but I ain't a native.
  21. Went clay shooting today, first time and had an accuracy of 80% out of 30 shots - pretty good for a pacifistic scandi-socialist.
  22. Moved to the appropriate forum.
  23. It's mechanically turnbased, in the same way Baldur's Gate was - seemingly real time for the player.
