  1. Pretty sure he'd be contractually obliged in any case.
  2. Hah me too on monday as well - a much much better film. It is however extremely anachronistic and I wish he didn't bring such modern mindsets into the setting (I think it would have been an even better film without them) - Like Baldwin upholding the peace, although in reality he was the one who broke it and Bailin being a lowborn bastard, when he was a hignborn skilled cutthroat politician irl - but its no biggie, its a great fairy tale in the Crusader setting as it is and if approached as such. And yeah it was fun seeing Kevin McKidd, I remember him from Rome though - and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister) as the counts son
  3. Trying Fallout Shelter on my tablet - addictive little game, but fun and well made. It's very casual, but nice for keeping you occupied when travelling etc. Really making me wanna replay Evil Genius though.
  4. Its a marketing ploy, nothing wrong with that
  5. Refund.. Generally can't refund a game with more than 2 hours played. Guess some games are taking advantage of that.
  6. Sid's Alpha Centauri with a Pirate playthrough (they are so OP).. And CK2 with horselord dlc and After The End mod (post apoc America). But I would maim several family members for a new Alpha Centauri game.. Considering becoming a billionaire just to make it myself
  7. I think in this case it makes a lot of sense, especially since they just want to write a main story that introduces you to the world (like in Viking Conquest) and keep the sandbox intact.
  8. I've always found that notion to be rather amusing. Languages evolve naturally over time, as does the need for them. Now if they were dismissive or demanding, sure I can see why that would be offensive - but English is simply lingua franca of the western world, no need to be upset about it. It used the Roman, heck it was even German here for a while.
  9. I suspect time is the main culprit, its a very finite resource in game development, so finer nuance often takes a back seat.
  10. Its a beauty - plus there's probably favorable tax laws for foreign films? That tends to help a lot. On of the reason why the Danish coast got super popular a few years ago for smaller indie productions.
  11. Yeah me too, I stopped half way through - kinda like Dead State, I felt the aesthetics were horrible. This looks so much better. I don't care about how modern the graphics are, but please for the love of god, make it pleasant to look at.
  12. And mods to make it fairly fun to actually play rather than tediously mediocre. Its a shame they took such a dive after Empire (or Shogun 2 some would argue), they seem very incompetent with this newer engine.
  13. Man, the series have really taken a different route than I'd expected back in the days of Shogun heh. Looks all right, but seeing this really makes me sad they've ditched modding, a Third Age mod would be pretty rad with some of these new additions - like heroes and spells.
  14. That has more to do with the fact that NV was a steam exclusive title and F3 was not. Although judging by mods made and activity on the nexus forums, it does look like NV is more popular today.
  15. I think it's more of a running joke/meme at this point, but they were good and I remember even as a teenager thinking that Half Life 1 was a complete game changer. The quality was very apparent and very well executed, it really is one of the best shooters ever made, if not the best... Not only that, but it basically created modding as we know it today, with many of said mods becoming instant classics in their own fields. Not something to be sniffed at.
  16. All the major dlc is usually wort getting, but I never played much of 3, I've stuck with arsenal of democracy
  17. Must've slipped through the cracks...
  18. Its one of those kinda games that gets better the older you get. Most of those gamers probably played it in their late teens and having replayed it over the years have discovered how different the game is, depending on your own maturity.. Much like Planescape.
  19. Pillars of Eternity, second playthrough.. I really enjoyed the first time through, but now that I'm a lot more familiar with everything I can enjoy the story without concentrating on the mechanics. Now that I'm reading everything, I'm especially enjoying how they've tied in pulp fantasy (like ghouls) in the setting and soul lore. Feels much more fleshed out than DnD. Hoping that I won't finish before the expansion (any word on when its due?)
  20. Well I did suffer brain damage
  21. To begin with my ability to form and recall memories, cognitive abilities and general consciousnesses were pretty severely affected. But by now it's just a few glitches in memory every now and again and some disproportionate stress responses. I can easily live with this for the rest of my life (and most likely will have to).
  22. Went through neuro-pshycology this week, quite interesting - as some of you might remember, I had a quite serious case of bacterial meningitis in the winter - since its so rare for someone my age, I've been asked to participate in many tests, experiments etc to help further the field. And to determine if there are any long term effects.. The mix of psychology, neurology, chemistry and active MRI scans seems so very sci fi. So Its cool to be a part of. The best news of course is that, unlike so many others, I've gone through this as well as I can - with no lingering side effects, some of which can be very disabling. So they are hoping to extrapolate if that is simply an age thing or if there something to be learned here for future care.
  23. On my list - I'm going for sci fi indies at the moment. Ever since Man from Earth I've developed quite a fondness for them. Saw Ex Machina, interesting execution, build up and tension - but they really botched the ending in relation to the rest of the movie, the ending was all right, but just quite inconsistant with the overall tone and expression of the movie. Causing it to feel anti climatic, even though it wasn't.
