And Sega - they've got a bad case of the DLC micro transaction fever and modding makes people play your old games instead of the new ones on day 1.
-
Meh, still just the assembly kit - meaning that any modding is basically just reskins. Wake me up when they reintroduce proper modding, so we can see a LOTR mod in the new engine.

Never tried 5ed, but going polar opposite is always an option. Take your favorite character an reverse him/her.

I can honestly say I never thought Call of Duty would go to space.. Remember playing the classic back in the day, thinking we finally had a game that dared to show the grimer parts of war. and now it's Mass Effect. hah..

Fun games for people that prioritize fun, but they ain't smart...

They certainly tried new things, I'll give 'em that. We could use a new Maxis or Lionhead, shaking things up a bit. Although all that positive attention certainly did go to Peter Molyneux's head

Love that Apex/Apple is the ultimate villain tool though.. That said, yeah that was.. stupid.. but at least they're trying to make a backstory to actually explain their setting, something a lot of AAA games can't be arsed with these days.

We've been playing Arkham Horror for a few years now, I see Eldritch is inspired by it - what are the main differences?
-
That's the part Xenonauts got right - calling in the airstrikes if you don't wanna/can't do a mission, costing you the resources it would give you if you took the time.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that. Nobody likes surprises under a bikini. That excludes every woman person on the planet. There you go. We're not Vulcans after all.

It's stuff like this that wakens my inner socialist...

Did PoE lack memorable moments?
Rosbjerg replied to ComplyOrDie's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Hmm having thought on it, I can see that a lot of the memorable moments in BG was in big part because I had never seen anything like it before. The beautifully rendered 2D backgrounds, the exploration in a world that was clearly artificial, but still somehow managed to seem alive. PoE clearly went into it knowing that it couldn't dazzle the player with town criers, scripted scenes and voice acting - but you're right, there were missed opportunities that would have made the game more memorable. The commune with the god would have been great to have seen played out, in fact many of the interactions became memorable more so as a tabletop kinda experience rather than what you would expect from an interactive game. I think BG managed to bridge that gap a lot better, because they were simply more innovative with their technology, although I would say PoE had the better potential story of the two. -
Gotta agree with that, the concept of having a drink with strangers of any legal age is also pretty prevalent here (as long as the atmosphere is non-sexual). But of course for every ten of your years you're supposed to do with added class and composure. Hitting on people half your age is no-no.. (says the guy with a girlfriend 9 years younger than him)

That said, there's a difference between remaking a classic and retelling it in a different setting. A good story deserves to be explored through different media and in different contexts. Pure remakes tend to be lazy and full of contemporary irrelevancy though.

Rumors suggest it was a bad case of influenza and fever that simply overwhelmed his system. He was admitted 5 days ago to a hospital because of flu-like symptoms, but was able to perform a concert the day after. Not confirmed to be the cause of death though.

Sucks, any word on why? Did we piss of cancer last year or something? Also lost Guy Hamilton today it seems (the ol' 007 director)

Hah, yeah same here - I remember trying to hold my own in a discussion with Metadigital - and not doing so well... or just discussing politics as a young ideological Scandinavian on an American board heh

Pictures of your Games Episode VII The Screenshot Awakens
Rosbjerg replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Ugh, I can't get the hang of Necrophages, it's like playing Zerg- you have to be so aggressive. Nah, Wild Walkers for me. Twilek elves ftw. -
Worst part is that I'm hitting the big 3 0. And that I started on this board when I was 20. I joined when I was 20 too and I'm hitting 32 soon .. Funny to think, I remember most of you guys being in your 30s then, so you must be pushing the 50s by now

Not so much.. since the world is now so intertwined that should one of the G8 countries truely fail, all of them will.

Since it's Calax's birthday, I decided to boot up New Vegas and not kill him - as a sort of digital birthday present.. Also working on a dreadully boring project on elementary schoolers use of history.
