  1. That movie proved however that Chris Pratt would make a pretty great Indiana Jones if they should ever wanna reboot the series (please don't).
  2. What do youmean- the thematic style?
  3. Hitler was a pretty firm believer in solutions and getting things done though.. Unfortunately more so than most politicans today. I wish he had been as ineffective as our contemporary lot. No we need to recognize that populists are neither socialists nor fascists, they are however a huge problem for any democracy- and have been since Antiquity... As for fascists comparisons, Wilder is more akin to 'Il Duce' - all talk, loves propaganda movies, full of wannabe bravado and with an unhealthy fixation on irrelevancy.
  4. That's because it isn't a fair comparison - there are plenty of ways to shoot down his arguments rather than always appealing to the vilified past. A guy wanting to close his borders and kick out a religious minority is very clearly a bigot, but being a bigot is pretty far from being a radical fascists that will start a genocide first chance he gets. Cry wolf and all that.. What do we do when the real facists come? Because they are coming and it's a little easier for them each time we call a bigot a fascist.
  5. We get TN you're a bit bitter, but the whole "only a fool would..." argument is not really conductive to a good argument. Especially since there's obvious a large portion of well educated 'well offs' who voted against as well. Many in Europe want more transparency and more democracy and when the establishment again and again tell them that they are stupid for questioning what's being done with their votes... well that usually doesn't turn out that well.. for anyone. We need to give up on the notion that 'our side' has all the answers - especially since that arrogance is a root cause (and symptom) of a lot of the political stagnation we've been seeing- if people are not willing to stand down and talk it over, then we'll see more and more radical demagogues finding their way into office. edit: But maybe we should listen critically to the old British Bulldog..
  6. It's good to see at least that it has kicked the hornets nest here in DK, where the pro camp (which is the vast majority) is actually starting to look at and talk about the positive sides of EU, except just rehashing the same ol' and look more reflected at the critical side. So thanks for that at least Britain
  7. It's kinda sad that they include all Nordic countries except Denmark...
  8. Interesting as well that it was primarly the elderly that voted exit, while the young voted stay. Seems pretty selfish that the old vote for a future their children don't want.
  9. One step closer to replication technology!
  10. Each nation elects national members into an EU parliment- which then organises into larger pan European parties- that selects a prime minister in much the same way a national parliment would (with vote blocks). There's a 2,5 year term limit for the President of the council which is renewable once.
  11. Eh, your current form of federal government is arguably even more removed from your citizen than ours, but sure...
  12. The EU is, for better or worse, still one of the most impressive pieces of diplomacy and statecraft .. It's developing in a way I'm not appriciating and that is certainly reason to voice concern - but the whole "it's done far worse than it's done good" is a bold-faced lie... The problem is this dichotomous view of everything that we humans are proned to. I just wish that this election will give the citizens a chance to reflect on which way they actually want to see the contient go.
  13. Jon has never really shown tactical genius- he's lost pretty much all engagement he's been in, except those few where another force (lead by a superior commander) has come to his rescue.. so in that regard what we saw was pretty consistent. Ramsey was similarly a subpar commander and his weakness was indeed his need for cruelty as the tactics he used were only really psychological. Which in the end also cost him the battle when they backfired.
  14. World war 2 would've been nr 5 and a lot bloodier.
  15. We're all for cooperation and equal rights - just not the byzantine style politics that all too often plague south and central Europe.
  16. You shouldn't stay in an abusive relationship simply because you're too afraid of what will happen if you're single. Democracy has taken a serious back seat to corporate interests - and while there are great examples of EU citizen rights trumping buisness interests, the endorsement of TTIP alone should be enough to send anyone running for the woods screaming.
  17. I was nine at the time, but would probably have voted yes at the time if I could (not today though).. it's fairly recently that I've become more sceptic towards the EU - simply because they've proven themselves inefficient too many times. I do share the ideological goal they peddle though, I'm a big fan of a strong government working FOR the people against selfish monetary interests, but EU isn't that and won't be in it's current form. A Scandinavian union though - sign me right the **** up. I could even live with the political capital being in Sweden
  18. Here's to hoping that it will show the growing federal bureaucracy that nations will seriously consider leaving the union if they don't tone it down. And maybe we can get back to a trade union rather than a social and political one.
  19. Yeah I never got around to finish Blood Dragon either - the atmosphere and presentation was great, but the gameplay was super boring.
  20. Anton Yelchin died today, age 27 - pinned by his car in an accident.
  21. Judging by the trailer that seems to be the rebel army sign and the guy at the execution is wearing an armor with it as well, before he's recruited to Kyos side.. So the PC might be a turned rebel?
  22. Well see you in 4-5 days then
  23. We are however expexted (at least outwards) to rise above the selfish need itself and attain it for a higher reason- it's all about the willingess to do the part/theatrics.
  24. This looks pretty scripted - I doubt the AI is significantly improved to be honest, although from other videos it seems like they've improved formations (as can also be seen here). So I'm sure the lemmings will be back
  25. New siege footage from Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord.. Yum!
