Experiences my first complete breakdown in communication today. To the point where, asked later by third parties if I was interested in reconciliation, I could honestly say "nope....". An interesting experience to say the least, but goes to show what can happen if you loose perspective and fail to catch something like that early on.

My point as well, they respond to consumer behaviour, if you don't expect anything but greed, don't expect change. Treatment of employees for one, but this is a longer discussion of course.. I'll simply concede that I was indeed exaggerating for the point.

EA is a business. You can trust their priority will be to turn a profit, and the market will dictate their business model. Not sure why you would expect anything else out of a business. A buisness is made of people for people and I expect more from my fellow man than (borderline sociopathic) greed.

So, I gotta admit I'm kinda impressed by the new Steam sale, using a choose-your-own-adventure to apply filter bubbles to their ever increasing game library is quite ingenious. Making a sales platform and user interface into a game is an interesting idea.

You should never come to northern Europe Gromnir, we're worse than the Canadians. Like the Norwegians - French Fries and Bernaise pizza: it's the cold you see, it messes with the brain...

I was deadly sick as a kid, around the time they were forming so it destroyed my wisdom teeth in their infancy, so they never developed. Easy peasy.

You don't say... Especially seeing as a good number of those are also from the Balkans and will, according to your own Federal Minister of Foregin Affairs, be sent right back.[1] Even so, mass migration have in the past not resulted in the mass outbreeding of the native population, especially not when both have a fairly equal standard of living. Unless you start murdering them as well of course.

And interesting hypothesis for sure. Is there data that correlates? The problem of course is, for both of us, that almost all research comes with a normative bias. So we're likely to both, fairly easily, find data to prove our points.

In this sense I'm not marxist, as I think the materiel is somewhat - immateriel. But rather that the perception of wealth is key, that being spiritual or materiel. I do not agree with the assumption that the spiritual plane is essential, but even if that was so there is a huge difference between spiritual and religious dogma. As the moral relativism (or nihilism if you're so inclined) of the west is a pretty clear indication of. In fact I'd counter argue and say that you seem to be looking at these issues with a sampling bias - trying to find evidence to support the Clash of Civilisations.

Or... you could look at the birth rate development of the entire world and see that it's doing a free fall as education is spreading. Or base your conclusions on whatever you feel like, without any data or in spite of it, to justify your assumption. It's a free country... But to answer your question less sarcastically, yes immigrants who arrive from basically anywhere but the most developed parts of Asia and Europe, irregardless of religion, will have a higher birth rate than native women - what's much more interesting is their children. What does our data say there, if you should harbor a guess?

Then I suggest you re-read my reply and the sources provided. That particular assumption has been made throughout history in so many variations that it's almost embarrasing that it's still used today. Have you seen "Eternal Jew" for example?

I'm taking offense to the underlying assumptions.. rather than the blanket generalizations, although they are pretty bad as well.

.... ugh... That is probably the most tiresome argument ever conceived. Immigrant birth rates are dropping more than twice as fast as native ones. Birth rate has been linked to level of education again and again and again.. Not "lack of control" or "inferior culture" or "a desire to invade us from within by outbreeding us". It's actually a concern for many who want a booming western industry, as the the declining birthrates of Europe and even immigrants, mean that immigration is not gonna help our age problem. [1] [2]* * a study produced by a pro-immigration group. Not particular surprising, or out of line with my own observations - how does this hinder me in seeing the situation correctly? Do you think strict Legal Moralism is reserved for Muslims? Most conservative Christians will also tell you that laws should be based on Christian morality.. and not long ago the vast majority would go a lot further than that - you found similar desires for similar laws, curtailing sexuality and repressing women, also based on religious creed. How did we combat this? The answer to that question is how we successfully integrate immigrants from similar backgrounds in modern society.

I live in the most multicultural part of Denmark, smack in the middle of what most would call a "ghetto" - so I have front row to this crime - and see how utterly exaggerated it is on social media and in the news. The thing is however - it's precisely the same as when I lived in a predominately poor white neighborhood, except without the media attention. Most would say it's very marxist of me, but as a result I see it much more as a monetary and socio-economic issue than a racial or cultural one.

Double post - but try travelling to Istanbul, Marrakesh, Cairo or some of the progressive metropols of the Muslim world and you can see how the traditonalist authority culture is slowly melting away and women are seen much more as equals, both literally and sexually. Very similar to Europe in the early days of the 20th century. There are small anti-establishment cultures emerging, from punk/rap/young adults movemnt to women rights groups. With all the progressive art and all the clamp downs you'd except too. It's very interesting to witness actually,

As we have historically seen with any mass migration, especially from countries troubled with war and/or famines irregardless of religion or culture. The massive clashes in New York for instance, between European immigrants flooding in in the 19th century. The real failure here was both that these men failed to realize they were in a different country with different morals, failed to deal with their own trauma and 'emasculation' of having to depend on others in a culture that teaches heavy male independence and deciding to take it out on their host country - and a bigger failure from authorities that utterly failed to understand that this was basically bound to happen if these men were allowed to go out unsupervised into a culture they have no understanding off, except by their exposure from mass media. Which as we know, is heavily sexually saturated... In short a complete recipe for disaster. One of the reason it didn't happen here, was because we've essentially locked up any immigrants in barracks, under heavy supervision, until they've received several courses in both our culture and language. And have been lightly cleared and background checked. The way and reason for doing that here however is a bit too draconian for my tastes (and pretty openly racist), but the rationale is not wrong. It is however still important that we do not blame an entire culture for this or take this ****ed experience as proof that we can never coexists. We can easily assimilate immigrants, as long as we understand where and what they come from. edit: and you don't really have to go back that far before you'd see similar situations in western culture. With rape gangs terrorizing London's parks and women travelling alone or in small groups. This type of criminal behavior is a byproduct of a heavily traditional, suppressive and authority dominated culture, that stigmatizes sexuality. The only exception I've seen is Japan and it's surprising that they are as good as suppressing it as they are, of course it bubbles over in popular culture for them, with rape games etc, but that's certainly manageable.

Oh man, I've had Changes going for 3 days. It's funny sunday I put on Ziggy for the first time in, I don't know years, guess he's haunting us all

That's exactly how I would describe it too, except I just could'nt stand the All American High cast. Too 'plastic' for my taste and the show was a little too saturated with tired fantasy tropes. It's very Divergence, Maze Runner, Hunger Games teenage-drama/angst.

Just learned as well, what a shock. In the middle of a comeback too. Hope he's partying on with Freddie now.
