  1. Project Nevada and a bug fix mod (Mission Mojave or YUP) is all you need really. And if you're nitpicky I'd recommend Fallout Character Overhaul and Redesigned 3 - they make the game characters and NPCs look much better. Everything else is merely topping.
  2. We have tempered with age, I would say... Like fine wine. or Tequila..
  3. My favorite dlc actually, I really liked the shift in tempo. While the main quest was completely forgettable I agree, I really appreciated the backdrop it provided. From tribal life to the very personal account of the war from 'The Survivalist' and Graham and Daniel's musing on the future, redemption and sin.
  4. Hah, a good fit for how I imagined most of you actually.. I got: Personality: ENFP ("THE CAMPAIGNER") Variant: Assertive Role: Diplomat Strategy: People Mastery But yeah, eerily fitting actually - I scored as INTP 10 years or so ago, seems I changed... and love that people (myself included) are this easy to fool/quantify.
  5. I got a lot of lag in that part, so I just sprinted through... Of course it helped I remembered the route. So pretty ok actually. Hated it back the first time though, but mostly 'cause it's a DLC that doesn't hold your hand at any part. I found accepting that helped my enjoyment immensly.
  6. The 'Rare Earth Hypothesis' pretty much builds on that thesis, as in Earth is simply in the right time, right place, right orbit, right galaxy, with the right laws of physics to allow life.. And most likely pretty alone because of it. The reason why it's often disregarded is that it's a fairly human centric reasoning - and it's generally not a great idea to conclude that what you're observing is unique, without a sufficient sample size.
  7. Circle, a new one on Netflix. The old 'stuck in a room and figure out why you're being killed' routine we've seen a few times.. Does well for the subgenre, nothing fantastic, but a good option if you got nothing else to watch on a sunday.
  8. So it turns out, Jar Jar was not just a lucky scmuck, but rather originally meant to be the true antagonist.. The real "Phantom Menance" "These (...) Inadvertent, seemingly comical bumbling that just so happens to result in astoundingly positive results. But what if it isn't inadvertant, and what if Jar Jar's meteoric rise and inexplicable influence isn't the result of dumb happenstance, but the result of extensive and careful use of force mind powers?" A Reddit user explores this crazy theory with carefully constructed arguments; https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/3qvj6w/theory_jar_jar_binks_was_a_trained_force_user/
  9. Well makes sense he would travel with shadow contingencies.. Getting assassins after you that early is both somewhat of an obstacle and a boon. They can be pretty tough, but so is their gear.
  10. Although Old World Blues + Dead Money and Honest Hearts + Lonesome Road are very connected as the main antagonist in DM and LS respectively have been through the other area first.
  11. Looking to visit a friend in Bruxells, turns out I can get a ticket there for 12$ ... So flying there and back again would be around 30$.. Whereas visiting my parents, 150km from here via train would cost me over 300$ The world is weird.
  12. Rick and Morty, what an absolutely insane show.. love it..
  13. Hmm yeah, I think I was lvl 5 or something when I reached AG/High first time - didn't you do the Ace investigation? I believe I got at least 2-3 levels doing that.
  14. Finished New Vegas! It felt a little like a chore at the end there, primarily cause I went for a somewhat completionist ending, so I can finally put it aside . Great game, although you know you're getting old when you're thinkging "it would've made a better isometric game" all the way through... This is actually one of my main gripes with Wasteland 2, I felt like I was being punished severely for exploring and some fight were arbitrarily made much more difficult without proper in game explanation or representation. How come a raider of the same size, equally dressed and armed can be almost 10 times as difficult to beat as someone a days walk in the other direction? Is he more badass because there's more dangerous enemies in the area? Show me that! It's just boring and frustrating to assume you have a chance only to get beaten because the game doesn't provide adequate information. Of course this was pre-DC and early release, so that might've changed.
  15. And by french developers as well - wonder if the last few years have seen a sort of "romantic" movement again in francophile art and litterature to facilitate this...
  16. Even better, the last one is a legislator as well.
  17. His beef was two fold, against you for bearing destruction on The Divide - a small growing settlement caught in between the conflict brewing in the Mojave - The Courier brings an Enclave package there, unbeknownst to him/her however its an activator for all the nukes in the area - almost all of which blow up, killing most of the residents and almost Ulysses. He survives with a vengeance, hating the NCR and the Legion both of whom wrapped themselves in legitimacy based on Old World symbols and through that 'ethos' and power they legitimize violence in the extreme. So he starts a personal crusade against that kind of symbols, against the old world and against using it for your own means. He wants to create a new world independent of the failures of the old and punish those who killed "a nation drawing it's first breaths" (ie the Courier, Legion and NCR is responsible for killing The Divide and in the process took away his chance of redemption)
  18. On this auspicious day! the pre-anniversary of the world's end (23rd oct 2077), Fallout 4 is gold and ready for launch. https://mobile.twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/657572737364398080
  19. Finished Lonesome Road. Great atmosphere, but I didn't really feel Roger Cross (Ulysses) or Obsidian did a particularly great job with his character.. He was obviously build up to be the real antagonist and antithesis of the Courier along with the question of wether the messenger can be blamed for the message - letting go/moving on and the whole overall dialectic / synthesis vibe of fnv. But too little screen time and too little exploration of that theme made it ring kinda hollow. And makes Ulysses come across as yet another tick off the list of obstacles to your ambition. It reminded me of Saverok in Throne of Bhaal though; asking if he and the Ward ever truely had a choice or were the product of their offspring and therefore forced to be in oppossition. Could've been done better... Tunnelers were freaky though! Also a guy muses over the fact, of what would've happened if the Waterchip never broke down in Fallout 1 and how that would change the story of the region.. Good read, if a bit long. https://www.reddit.com/r/falloutlore/comments/3pr6ku/discussion_if_the_water_chip_hadnt_broken_down/
  20. I think they're meant for the kinda player who liked doing speed runs in old school platformers.. All about overcoming the challenge through concentration and repitition.
  21. Confirmed to be Adam Driver
  22. Skyrim ReDone And generally the Skyrim GEMS are pretty good. http://skyrimgems.com/ (they link to nexus) For instance: Alternate start let's you start as a vampire for instance or even lowly peasant. Immersive loot and/or Scarcity - makes rare items extremely rare, you'll only really find steel weapons. Daedric, Glass and Dwarven basically have to be forged or fought for as they are not really present in the game world containers. Deadly Combat for less arcadey fights. and so on.. Edit: Although it's a little complicated, making a merged patch when you're done is very recommendable, using the TES5Edit. It'll make mod conflicts, crashes etc a lot less likely. The GEMS however usually play well together, if you stick with them.
  23. New Vegas, I have the week off so I've been on a bender.. 50 hours so far and I'm maybe half way through. This is gonna take stamina. It's a good game even in spite of the Gamebryo Engine's age and I'm finding myself liking it much more than I did on my first play almost 5 years ago . Even Dead Money, I like the story, but just couldn't stomach the mechanics of that section and haven't tried it since, but now that I knew what to expect and how to prepare for it, it was actually a really awesome DLC. Now onto Lonesome Road (the reason for this marathon) since I never finished it - I'm looking forward to meeting Emo (so I hear) Ulysses.
  24. Of course, but I was thinking more of next platform, not so much upgrade on current. Tanks, Aircrafts, Helicopters and Ships slowly moving over to rail, coil or mag guns seems obvious yeah.
  25. With current tech I think the next step in big weapon platform is gonna be orbital or some kind of high altitude glider/VTOL. For future tech, gravity manipulation is definitely where I see us going.
