That sucks, but an nontraditional Christmas can actually be quite fun. There's a lot of people in cities looking for kindred spirits, both for parties and just generally hanging out. Especially around family oriented holidays. Some of my strangest adventures have been on nights out in the days around Christmas.

It's interesting that so many Scandinavian/Germanic elements have seeped into Christmas.. but then again culture mixes, there are after all so many English/American tradition in our holiday now. Especially the tendency to start in October As for what we'll be doing, Purple hair will come with me to the country and celebrate it with my brother and close family. Should be nice and as we say "hyggeligt".

I enjoyed 3 far more but I was less critical back then so I dunno, maybe it's me? I think the combat and world design are excellent but the disjointed conversations are frustrating and major characters don't react in a believable way to events, very often they don't react at all It feels to me like Bethesda have abandoned internal consistency for the sake of epic ****, I know many people will say they've always been this way but I felt Skyrim was a step up and I had high hopes for Fallout 4. So that's probably my problem, dashed hopes. No doubt I'll come back to the game in a better mood next year, with my expectations suitably adjusted. I'm actually somewhat optimistic that DLC might fix it, if only because it seems Bethesda has focused alot on player feedback in the development of F4, by adding some of the most popular mods (and concepts from New Vegas), but obviously thought consistent story was an auxiliary strength to open world gameplay, rather than a main asset. Hopefully they'll take the criticism to heart and try to add some general reciprocity to the game in future updates etc. But I'm certainly happy that I'm seeing across the net that people are openly criticizing the lacking story consistency/strength. If only because that might mean the next game will have more focus on a cohesive story. In any case however, I will certainly wait to buy that until at least a year after release (and maybe steal a friends copy to try heh)

The ending was weird though, I had to look it up to see if they had diverted from the book, because it just felt so out of place. Turns out the did of course. Don't know why screenplay writers have a tendency to do that, it often destroys the flow of the narrative because they will reinterpret a central theme at the end, instead of building it up.

Yeah that's a funny feeling, I joined when I was 19, now I'm 31. I think we know more about each other here through these kinda threads, than most of our extended families do heh. (If we cared to remember it that is)

Fallout 4 is coming soon.. is there a new OB Fallout Scheduled?
Rosbjerg replied to dava4444's topic in Computer and Console
I agree in general, as I don't actually think any main story should be time sensitive, unless that's the overarching pointe of it it, like Fallout 1. That said, I completely ignored all faction quests and it didn't seem to hamper my game in particular. Although it was weird when people kept calling SH "your settlement" and I could recruit people to go there - when I had declined the offer to join the minutemen and had never even been there. So you could hurry through the main quest and then do all the settlement-mucking-about-stuff later. It's open enough for that after all. -

Didn't expect from them? That's pretty much the standard with patches, they have a tendency to screw with savegames too. Nothing new there. -
Well I did feel the weather would change, in my lower intestines. or was it knees.

Don't know if I should be proud or offended.

Turned up the heat for the first time this half of the year. Which is unusually late. The winter here is incredibly mild, worryingly so.. about 10-12C (+50F). For one it's not a good sign in general and it spells a wet and stormy year to come.

^ Yeah, this is the point. You can do some stuff with the Assembly Kit, but as far as my knowledge goes, you are still limited to the existing worldmaps. If I remember correct, 3ds max plugins were released for Shogun and people expected the same to happen with Rome 2 after all the DLCs are through... it has yet to happen and it probably won't happen at all. No idea how modding is with Attila (probably the same as Rome 2, because the games look nearly identical). I've been so disappointed with the little stuff they did for Rome 2 (mostly shovelware DLCs), that I still haven't touched that game. Maybe I'll buy it when it costs like 5€ in a sale... or maybe not even then. This thing should have been a big expansion for Rome 2, really. The only thing you can mod in the current engine is data entries, such as buildings bonuses, general traits, unit range, damage etc - and limited 3d modelling, but mostly 'switching' existing armour and unit models around. The most comprehensive mod (Divide et Imperi) is basically new units with existing skins rearrenged + new traits and building bonuses.

Yep that was cringe worthy, in fact every time he tries to play anything but the somber neurotic, it comes off as wrong. Might be a director problem, Snyder hasn't really shown an aptitude for multifaceted direction so far.

Yeah, I can totally see what Mkreku and others love about the game - they nailed gunplay, graphics, environment exploration etc. I can totally see the good comparison to Rage and Stalker. Had some great battles in Boston, running from cover to cover from Raiders and mutants. I'm just the kinda player that values all the other things higher, so I think this is gonna be the last Bethesda game I buy if they keep on this track. Shame, but oh well. I'm quite sure they'll live -
Heresy, there's is only one true Power Armour worth having..

This is what caused me to quit playing actually - it felt so weird.. You wanna recruit me? all right, who are you... "that should be self evident", erh not really, no. I mean sure, I as a player know you, but my character doesn't. After about 2 hours, I had to alt-tab out of the game to look up "The Commonwealth", because everyone spoke to me about it, but no one ever explained what it was. I assumed correctly, that it was the region, but come on, give me something! anything. It's the exact opposite of Skyrim where everyone would walk up to you and give you a lecture on their life, political affiliation and sexual problems. Can't we get a happy middle ground? -
I think the movie tried (and failed) to establish that this had become the prevalent norm at the time. That only a handful of Jedi were actually any good, the order suffered with complacency, arrogance, extreme orthodoxy or downright heresy - mirroring the equivalent development of almost all real world religious warrior cults.

Actual tools and not just the Assembly Kit?
-
When did that happen? They stated repeatedly since Empire Total war that the engine is "too complex" to add proper modding tools, which is why we haven't seen any mods that truly change the game since Medieval 2, beyond some altered units/buildings and slightly better AI.

Amen brother.. I used to be immune, could go 4 days of drinking, with cheap booze and women and do a few exams on the down time.. Now I'm lucky if my week is productive.

So black friday have reached here as well. Which is weird, since we don't have Thanksgiving.. But all right since I just saved around 100$ on gifts for Christmas. Of course had we stayed Norse I wouldn't have to buy Christmas present to begin with. In short damn all of your foreign ways.. But thanks I guess.
