  1. Same here with a monk. After the fight the BB priest would not recover from being unconscious too. After saving and loading I've got the black screen issue.
  2. The formations a wee bit off... This is the formation I set on the left and what I got on the right. That's how I modified the formation in order to get what I originally wanted. Minor issue that can be fixed later
  3. Check out Titans of Steel, it's a Battletech clone with deep character development. Earn character development points as you roll successful checks, assign them to attributes or skills.
  4. The best (classless) leveling system I've seen was the one in Darklands. You got better by practice, as in there was a chance that your skills increased after successful rolls or combat encounters. Darklands is a sandbox simulation where you travel through a country full of random encounters and few fixed quests. Initially I had hoped for someone to adapt this system but the way this goes could be fine too. I've been min maxing and save scumming all my life
  5. How about... FALCOOOOON PUNCH!
  6. Mentioned that. Should be easy to program but difficult to hack in unless inventory layout and functions are done through external files / proprietary scripting language.
  7. I think I remember a playthrough of IWD where melee and crossbows were swapped frequently and in a group. I can be wrong though. The party was called Dwarven Death Squad with good reason, crossbows nailing everything alive before axes split the remaining faces.
  8. Thanks. Yeah discussions derail really fast with opinions and such. I'm excited about what can be accomplished. There's many games of which I'd have thought it was impossible until someone just did it.
  9. I've tried to find out if there was a clear answer to the OP's question and stumbled through twelve pages of bull****, how I should do this and that or how something has to be tailored in a way so I explicitly cannot do this and that. I've gathered this much: There's no scripts that require a party of specific characters for the main plot (roughly according to dev post) Level cap is twelve. Late difficulty might be tailored to about six level twelve characters thus it might be a difficult task, but technically possible. I very much prefer multiple possibilities to play a game. Like, how I've soloed and killed each and everyone but plot NPCs as a rule in Fallout 2.
  10. Personally I've preferred the limited 2nd edition in AD&D computer games for it's simplicity. I never really minded dual or multi classing a PC into a fighter even if it was to reap the obvious benefits, which can still be in character.
  11. Divinity Original Sin has an option in the equipment window to toggle helmets on/off/combat only. That's prolly the best solution
  12. Helps with geometry but does not flatten transparent textures like TrSSAA or shaders do
  13. Depends on the scaling algorithm used by full scene SSAA. Prolly needs testing, if it was worth implementing at all. Dunno what options Unity supports natively. By FXAA I meant a full-screen shader that'd do antialiasing, perhaps even with border detection, while masking out the background and inanimate sprite objects with a bit mask, so it blurs as little as necessary - which is rather low cost in terms of performance usually.
  14. As seen in previous footage the backdrops are essentially a textured planar quad and as such would be affected from any kind of full scene upscaling
  15. My point was if you render the backdrops which are basically sprites at a fixed resolution at X times the render target you upscale a graphic and then scale it back down
  16. The backdrop is a real-time rendered plane and would be affected. SSAA renders at x*resolution and scales down and thus might blur details
  17. Wouldn't SSAA degrade the high res backgrounds? Some post processing AA that's applied to the character and scenery meshes like FXAA should be ideal. Shader based
  18. Yeah that exactly. You have Stamina and Strength in that game. Stamina is your temporary hit points, Strength your permanent that mean death and limit max stamina. When you rest you regain all your stamina and 1-2 Strength each night. So strongly hurt characters need to rest a whole week with all the dangers...
  19. 1. Nude mod2. Romance mod3. Healing potion mod4. Rest anywhere5. Inventory anywhere Ive got my fingers crossed that one of the people that ponied up for Beta access is also a modder. Maybe a rest anywhere fix can be made before the game is released to the public.I'm trying to work out if you are being serious or joking?? A rest anywhere mod would immediately devalue any sense of challenge or achievement. I'd have zero interest in this game if you could rest anywhere anytime. I wouldn't even bother to download it for free if that was the case. I presume you are being sarcastic and laughing at people who'd need a silly feature like that? If not...words fail me.Im serious as a heart attack. Hell, Ill toss somebody a crisp new fiver to make the mod and teach me how to map it to the "R" button. The rest mechanic sounds like a major imposition to me and just off the top of my head involves the following other mechanics: to replenish per rest abilities, to replenish per rest spells, to replenish Health, to get un-Maimed, to access the "deep stash" inventory, and who knows what else by the time the game is done. I don't mind resource management, I just don't want to have to trek across the damn map to do it. But with that in mind, a "pop tall after every battle fully healed and with all abilities" mod that doesn't require me to press the "R" button is an even better idea! Also, FAST TRAVEL please, oh god please. By the 50th time Ive schlepped back to a rest spot Im going to be ready to punch kittens. You have my full support! On the contrary, Darklands resting mechanic is despite being complicated the most interesting one I know of
  20. I don't understand why people are so hostile towards programs that do exactly what they want but insist on wasting dev money
  21. Instead of writing up an entire book of how butt hurt you are, researching that matter would have come up with programs like joy2key or xpadder and such which are brilliant! Especially joy2key is shareware without much limitation nor a trial period and can do what you want. It allows you to map your entire keyboard and mouse to controllers, allows for dead zones, auto fire, shift keys to switch between multiple controller mappings for even more buttons, individual profiles and so on. http://joytokey.net/en/ Older freeware version: http://freewarewiki.com/f/jtk379en.zip
  22. While I do remember good times back in 92 with consoles of that time, I can tell that mouse and keyboard never was a popular choice on a console. The average console gamer plays their duck and cover shooting games so I believe the market there is limited for a game like this.
  23. Interesting read and nice to hear that durability is cut
  24. Then the faster weapon still has it's advantage of being faster and therefore having more chances to hit, to do critical damage and apply any on hit stuff more often.
  25. Dark Sun's psionicist Thri-Kreen make a comeback it seems.. It'd be nice if you could play this class like an upfront fighter that isn't flimsy to begin with or being able to multi class into fighter like in DND2E
