  1. Course we want both and then some(sequels to AP,VtMB,KOTOR,ARCANUM) but apparently publishers don't agree and also Obs seems pretty occupied. Maybe one of the said games or their spiritual successors in the works tho, if its not a new IP. A Fallout sequel would require 60-100 devs, ıf such development had started it would have been pretty noticeable to some of us. Also apparently Pillars was more profitable than developing an AAA game for a Publisher. So Obs could have declined some offers, tho its still a pretty big company, Pillars can only sustain so much.
  2. I actually think the returning companion teasers are over now, and now they're teasing other aspects. I reckon this might be teasing a new faction. The quote uses 'we' instead of 'I' and talks about bringing law to this land. I think his might be our Knights of the Crucible kind of faction. At least One companion teaser is still "missing" for sure... I can't belive the good old Durance will have nothing to say about the return of the god he slayed himself! Durance was the one[of the 12] that got away. In PoE 2 it'll be revealed to us that Durance was one of [vengeful]Eothas' first victims but in fact Eothas had found & forgave him. There will be quest for us to find a Priest of Eothas, when we find him, we'll be SHOCKED! Yes.
  3. They'll change it when/if ever they'll get the budget to make Skyrim of Eternity.
  4. This didn't scream Kana, unlike the prev. pics screaming Eder, Aloth & Palla. Kana has a sister? Maybe its her. Kana seemed like a guy that has a hot sister. She'll be in charge of our ship's artillery. Yes.
  5. Yep that's a mystery worthy of curiosity.
  6. It won't be 3D/FPP-TPP.
  7. Call me crazy but I'm having a weird feeling that Obsidian will announce some game in a week. I know this is a little out of the blue but yeah...
  8. Yeah moar details and we may even see a gameplay video, maybe, cos apparently "a still image doesn't do it justice". https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/796047431360081920
  9. It won't have romances. Obs still think they won't be able to do "good romances" with the resources they have... which will lead to them outright ignoring players' sexuality; because travelling with possible romantic interests for a long time and not even having the slightest sexual tension between player & companions or between companions is perfectly natural, right. Anyway I hope they don't see Bioware-dating sims as romance done right.
  10. Well of course they'll close the studio; too proud to change the way how they name projects, they won't be able to work efficiently on nameless projects, confusion will be Obs' epitaph.
  11. Given its Deadfire Arc. Sagani should also return... ...as main villain!

  16. The wheat symbolizes Goodsprings' crops and dats Easy Pete's pipe. New Vegas 2 is confirmed :D
  17. Threads like these remind me my memory is ****. My latest greatest moment would be in Witcher 3 in the isle of mists, a scene from the books recreated, almost shed a tear. Also another about to cry moment after "the play's the thing" and the third one from the bad ending; so masterfully done; every line, every action speaks volumes, driving a spear through Geralt's and my hearth that's blackened by then..."maybe once, in a different time, I'd have helped..." In one of ME3's indistinguishable ****ty endings; seeing Liara's smile in the flashes as Shopardo destroys the machine-thing... Again in ME3; Wrex's sudden confrontation in Citadel was hilarious... it was so evil, soo comic-book evil, felt like a jerk but hilarious nonetheless. It was worth intentionally building up certain choices through the games to see dat scene that maybe less than 5% of the players could have seen. *searching through memories* In my first playthrough in Expeditions: Conquistador, my character's name was Joey Tribbiani and normal dialogues became hilarious jos cos NPCs says the name, so I decided to name my second character Chandler Bing in the second playthrough and in the first conversation one of the dialogue choices was "Does the name Bing ring a Bell?" himnnn... yeah dat Revan thing for me too... From DAO: the ultimate sacrifice ending and Alistair's speech before the final battle...and Ostagar battle cutscene. In New Vegas; after following the intended path to the Strip, taking my time doing everything. getting done with Boulder City and finally heading to Strip... walking on i-95 north of Helios One, seeing no obstacles between me and the Strip then suddenly Victor appears out of no where threading alongside me towards the strip... the whole experience. Listening chief Hanlon talk for 20 mins straight. aand too much ram usage in my brain, need a restart.
  18. That's not my statement. I said there are more shorter games than longer games nowadays. With increased cost and time to make those big lengty RPGs we see them less often these days. If I had claimed that old games were longer tho why would I argue F4s being lengthier than previous ones? It shouldn't be longer than NV anyway if we'are not counting "infinite quests".
  19. Just saying, if you(anyone) don't have the time anymore and can't finish a rather lengthy RPG therefor won't be able to enjoy it; you should try other genres since they tend to be shorter than RPGs: I didn't/wouldn't call anyone a noob cos of playing cod, they say its campaign's very good this year, goes for BF also and Hıtman is also pretty well received. I don't like telltale games personally but especially game developers love it for some reason etc. Or don't play any of these but just don't try to make few big games smaller just cos you can't enjoy it like you used to. I mean if you please. Why? It could be considered old maybe but I usually can't retroplay "old" games, so I don't consider it old, Planning to playing it again soon. When there'll be projects like "New Vegas in F4's engine" like there is for Morrowind atm it might be truly old.
  20. I don't know, I don't look for short games but most crowndfunded indie RPGs are rather short and there are many of them, supergiantgames' games are short also. People say Deus Ex: MD is short, I didn't like the game and stopped playing. Tyranny was short. My logic is there were no lengthy RPGs in 2016 so there must be good number of rather shorter ones. And my point is when you break it down there is only 1 or 2 lengthy RPGs coming out per year and I don't see the reason for complaining. Or maybe I'm drawing the line too high for a game to be lengthy. RPGs need to be longer than most other type of games that has storytelling. Maybe if you have less time you should look into other genres, play 6 hours long battlefield/cod campaigns, play an episode of Hıtman, telltale games or watch a movie or don't. Also show me the grind and meaningless collectibles and whatnot in New Vegas. Every open world game should take notes from NV and all Obs employees should replay it in a yearly basis to remember how to make a good game.
  21. This might be a point of debate between the younger generation and the older one. Once you have a 9 to 5, a family and all the other obligations, your time becomes very valuable. Rather than play a 60 hour game that's been padded with grinding and meaningless collectibles, I would much rather have a shorter game that really delivers. Since it is very likely that I won't finish the former but will definitively enjoy the latter. I'm not debating... questioning anyone's preference. Just saying there are more shorter games than longer games nowadays. When/if I have all that, maybe I'll also stick with the crappy telltale interactive storytellers while hoping quality rpg developers to make shorter games but that day has not come yet(<in Balgruuf's voice).
  22. I prefer long games, as long as the game's good and keeps me entertained the longer the better. That said there are games in all sorts of lengths and if you want shorter games there are much more options than the handful of "big rpgs" every year. f.i. there wasn't a lengthy rpg(60-100hrs) release in 2016 if I'm not mistaken. So demanding shorter games from CDPR, OBS, Beth etc. seems greedy to me.
  23. I also could never see the so-called superior beauty of 2D backgrounds over 3D. From what little I've seen of Expeditions: Viking, the game looks beautiful & atmospheric more so than PoE(or DoS) to me. As for why Obs sticking to it, besides what I posted earlier I guess they chose this style cos of budget and nostalgia and maybe they think its more beautiful also like most backers I guess. But now "distinction" could also have become a factor; Obs can't make the best looking game atm but can make the best or one of the best looking 2D-ish game and apparently they are innovating within that style with some destruction scenes seen in Tyranny and hints of expansive weather effects for "the future" and the talk of more dynamic backgrounds. And yes animations needs some love; its improved in Tyranny but TToN's walking-running animations look way better, maybe Obs can pull some tech back from InExile in exchange. My overall problem with 2D style is that as it is atm its not immersive for me. I'm hoping better LoD for characters, more dynamic backgrounds, weather effects etc could help with this in "the future". Which basically means don't change anything since Obs already using a licensed engine(s). I disagree; game companies who make and use their own engines are growing faster. Risk-reward tho, maybe some went bankrupt trying to do so. And Obs has Tim Cain for 5-6 years now, the guy.. the legend was building game engines just cos he felt like it back in the olden days :D
  24. Some people makes their own engine from scratch on the verge of bankruptcy(CDPR) and some choose not to use & improve their own engine(Obs) to save dev. time, guess on the verge of bankruptcy also :D < Not really related to 2D/3D. Unless they have very good reason, it would be stupid to change the engine now that they know the engine better and made more tools for faster development etc. Guess it would also be stupid to change the style of the game in the same engine atm(Unity is a 3D engine). We can see a different engine when/if PoE goes Skyrim-style in the future: Feargus' dream.
