The east germans were really good at marching in step too. They kinda had to be. Crowds of one mind ought to terrify anyone who gives it a second thought.

Didn't watch, won't until they instate some kind of mortal combat tournament where martial artists and WWF rejects fight it out to the death on a skull dais surrounded by a flaming lava moat.

Thailand bans Grand Theft Auto IV

I think internet cafes are still big there. Few people can afford the latest hardware. -
Thailand bans Grand Theft Auto IV

It's interesting to speculate whether the cops just basically slapped him around until he told them what they wanted to hear. Thailand isn't big on civil rights, and something, I can't put my finger on it, feels a little off about this story. -
Dictatorships employ the death penalty as a deterrent and a control mechanism for their own survival. In democracies, prison is the rational - and the death penalty the emotional choice. It caters to some deep seeded need beyond the principle of justice. Justice is the sense that laws apply equally to everyone. It has nothing to do with the extremity of the punishment once the need deter and ensure the safety of the populace has been satisfied. The US doesn't execute its citizens for any practical reason. However much bravado is behind it, it's something more sinister.

Incorrect, it fits neither of those categories as it does not harm or aid the host. Instead it is an example of commensalism (I think that's how you spell it ). I wasn't. That depends on whether the host considers procreation beneficial or not. the human emphasis on individuality can render us indifferent to the continuation of our genes. In any case it consumes resources much like, say a tape worm. Pretty foul analogy, but I suppose I'm being intentionally provocative.

Would it be morally repugnant to get rid of a parasite, no, how about a symbiote. At that stage thats the distinction. Personally I think it probably is questionable to repeatedly find yourself in need of an abortion. I mean, you would think one might be able to learn to properly use birth control after the 10th time. For some people that is apparently not the case.

Thats a bit like a firing squad, some of them get blanks. Really odd though, as if all these methods somehow make a difference. Spiritually, philosophically or otherwise. The guys who work the injectors call themselves technicians. They are executioners.

So **** hit the fan and my old box decided to die on me. Some builders working my building had been using heavy equipment and apparently used our grid. First the power was off in building, then it was on again, and then my old PSU started to trigger the auto shutoff everytime I turned the comp on. I guess the surge protector gave up or something. Anyway I can't get anything done without a comp, so I ordered everything on my list even though I prolly should have waited for the price shift with Nehalem. Anywho, can I install a 32 bit windows version on 64 bit hardware ?, a friend said he could fix me up with a 64 bit win xp, but its dragging out.

Why not just let him rot in jail, like in civilised countries.

BREAKING NEWS: NEW EXCLUSIVE FALLOUT 3 TRAILER
Gorgon replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Daggerfall was absolutely horrible. To prove it, try playing it again. I don't think you'll be able to. Sometimes this retro sentimentality just goes too far. You shouldn't try to make a 3d game with graphics that will make your eyes bleed. Just stay 2d. -
I don't get it, Port ?

If memory serves : If there is only one drive, remove all the jumpers and it will be recognised. Otherwise consult the diagram on the HDD itself, it should be near the connector.

Rip off artists

No statute of limitation on murder, seen enough cop shows to know that.

Check out this handy PSU calculator courtesy of Corsair, it has all the newest hardware data. Of course it will only point to corsair products, but it should give you a good idea. http://www.corsairmemory.com/psufinder/default.aspx

Part of the fun is having to chose when to let loose and when to use mele or run. Of course it's not much fun at all at lv 1. when you are done for the day after 4 spells, but having them just sit down for 2 seconds and voila all spells are memorized, that seemed just as silly as when your party members sortof dozed off instead of dying and woke up no worse for the wear after the fight. It sabotages the challenge.

I think it's mathematically quite unlikely that we are the only life in the universe, but why cover this up. Where is the gain, and more specifically, covering it up successfully through 5 decades, that seems unlikely.

Sins of a Solar Empire, although an hour into various tutorials I still don't know what I'm doing. The designers seems to have done away with convention and made the interface truly nightmarish and counter intuitive.

The fact that the big one is split in two, one 650 watt for the board and one 550 for the drives and accessories should mean it is power efficient at lower loads, no ? But then again theres two of them, like having two comps turned on instead of one.

http://www.antec.com/ec/productDetails.php?ProdID=09190 It's a 20 kg dual ps and case setup with a total of 1200 watt capacity. It costs about 15-20% more than what you would pay for a name brand 850 watt ps and case. The the case then is good value, and is reviewed positively on a few OC/ enthusiast sites, but the PS is definitely overkill for my needs. Although overkill = upgrade. Antec doesn't make a 850 watt variant with the truepower quatro PS, or I would probably have gotten that. The other Antec server case I'm looking at http://www.antec.com/ec/productDetails.php?ProdID=01565 - is 650 watt, but the PS ; 650 truepower trio is not on the certified list. http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex_components.aspx?p=3 I'm worried that there is some little difference in the specs that will render it a poor choice.

The Crystal shard trilogy was the first Faerun book I read, decades ago, after I had read the Dragonlance saga. I thought it was decent. Then I read the one where Dual wielding Drizzt was trapped in the underdark or something, the name escapes me. I thought that was even better. It had the Jhon Woo style encounter with the good guy, and the good bad guy, forced to work together. Then a year ago I finally read the last installment, and realized I had grown up in the meanwhile. The whole exercise seemed pointless, I dunno, maybe Salvatore grew up and lost interest as well, but still needed the checks.
