Plenty of "intelligent" gamers are also Communists. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey!! ..no, wait I forgot Im not a communist. I just finished playing PsT and I did not find it to be the undisputed aphex of CRPGs as many of you would like to belive it is. + good story + well written dialouge + intelligent roleplaying options - character interaction was not deep enough, Bg2 or KoTOR both offered deeper and more detailed interaction with your companions. Also many threads never got proper closure - many story elements(even essential ones) were difficult to access or had very high requirements to pass and countless other examples. Your average gamer wouldnt get half the full experience of PsT without a walkthrough+cheating and thats pretty bad. - many story elemnts lacked any real sensible explanation- like why TNO was condemned to fight the blood wars forever. He was just generally evil? What? Why wasnt he just sent to some prison or limbo or whatever instead, I cant see any connection here? And on a more personal basis, the mood and setting didnt do it for me at all. It was beyond dark, it was downright depressing. PsT is not an adventure, its a journey into darkness and suffering. I dont mind this usually but PsT has a really stiffling theme to it that really lacks any positive side. Still, its a pretty unique game that really needed to be made.

Gah, when will those silly people learn how to read subtitles? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh there are subtitels. It's completly dubbed. Subtitles as well as voice output. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Horrid. I live in a civilized country so they dub only childrens movies(which are usually offered in doublepacks along with an org language version). If they started dubbing games, Id order from abroad. If you now how silly "jedi" is pronounced in swedish.. heh sort of "yee-deee" Would you play a game where THESE men did all the voiceacting? -DU m -

Kaftan Barlast replied to NeverwinterKnight's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Gah, when will those silly people learn how to read subtitles? Official Swedish release is Friday but my copy is due next week because of the idiot bastard retailer is busy shipping out copies of WoW to the horde of mmorpg-monkeys. -
WoW vs. K2 premiere collision
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
But when soemone else's drug of choice ruins the aquisition of MY drug of choice, heads should roll. They sent me an email today saying I should get it by friday, but their order status system says its not even in packing yet. -
But this DVD bussiness seem a litte outdated now, I have digital cable and they air all films in glorious HDTV resolution so my DVDs appear grainy and less fluid in comparison.

WoW vs. K2 premiere collision
Kaftan Barlast replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bt what pisses me off the most is that I wont get my K2 in time because they prioritize a bunch of snotty MMORPG kids -
This is nothing but a complaint thread that my usually very speedy and cheap retailer is overloaded with the upcomming WoW euro premiere that coincides with K2, resulting deliveries of K2 will be delayed  Ive had it pre-ordered since november and THIS is what I get?! I could have just gone to the store and bought it if Id known itd be like this.... <_< so no K2 on friday for me *grinds teeth*

Need your help w/ my homework!
Kaftan Barlast replied to Conspiracy Theorist's topic in Way Off-Topic
1. Where did we come from (how did we get here as human beings)? Evolution. 2. What is the purpose of life (How do we know why we are here)? Each man has a different purpouse, a specific fate. Life in general has no purpouse but to continue. 3. How should we live? In peace and harmony with all around us. 4. What happens we when die? Other than what can be seen from the outside, none knows. 5. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Logic 6. What is your impression of Christians? Some are decent people, a lot more are not, as they use their misconception of Christianity as a tool to enforce a specific world view 7. What, if anything, would change you views? Being proved Im wrong. I liek tests. Forums are great for surveys. -
Since its always fun to fill out forms on the internet I thought we'd get in on all the hype of the famous Myers-Briggs personality test, a version of which can be found here I did a swede version of it and was found to be a INTJ- Mastermind huh huh.. ..they tend to be much more self-confident than the rest, having, for obscure reasons, developed a very strong will. They are rather rare, comprising no more than, say, one percent of the population.. ..Masterminds are the supreme pragmatists, seeing reality as a crucible for refining their strategies for goal-directed action. In a sense, Masterminds approach reality as they would a giant chess board, always seeking strategies that have a high payoff, and always devising contingency plans in case of error or adversity.. ..Masterminds are natural brainstormers, always open to new concepts and, in fact, aggressively seeking them. They are also alert to the consequences of applying new ideas or positions. Theories which cannot be made to work are quickly discarded by the Masterminds. On the other hand, Masterminds can be quite ruthless in implementing effective ideas, seldom counting personal cost in terms of time and energy. Famous people; Julius Caesar, Hannibal, Nietzsche, Stephen Hawking Now, these tests arent actually all that, IMO. Many questions are flawed and theres always the fact that human minds are far too complicated and diverse to organize into simple groupings like these.

What era do most of your favorite titles come from
Kaftan Barlast replied to Zach Morris's topic in Computer and Console
Although the cleverness of the logarithmic, I dont like this poll one damn bit. Where's Commodore? Amiga? You dont even mention the haydays of early PC gaming that are so dear to me -
ATI video cards with KotOR2
Kaftan Barlast replied to Pulverizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If you want to make shure you have drivers that work, use the ones that were new during the bugfix/tweaking phase of the development of K2. That is november-december 2004. KoTOR was compatible with the drivers for its time, the problems started with the newer ATI drivers along with patch 1.03 -
whats the most important part of making a game
Kaftan Barlast replied to anakins revenge's topic in Developers' Corner
If you really want a member of the devteam to answer, you should make it clearer in the topic, that its their attention you're asking for. -
NWN2 might contain some element of ideas hatched during the pre-production of Jefferson but I doubt itll be more than that.

I loved KoTOR, it just fit me like a glove. my own personal great PC games list would probably look like this(somewhat chronologic) Alone in the Dark Sim City Maniac mansion 2: day of the tentacle DooM Sam n' Max hit the road Beneath a steel sky Neverwinter Nights Arcanum Planescape Torment Baldurs Gate 2+ToB KoTOR but my memory is selective

Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
Kaftan Barlast replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
Immaterial theft is still theft. However, I dont think there should be the same punishment for clicking a few buttons as going into a store and actually taking something from a shelf. Btw, is lending games to people illegal?(to your friends just like they borrow CDs or a cup of flour) It just struck me that it probably is. Di> what genre are you in? any chance one could check out your books on amazon or similar? -
I know a guy who actually said something along the line of "Why do they have those black bars? Why cant we see the whole picture?" he wasnt exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.. I tried to explain but he just didnt get it Fullscreen really stinks, especially when they do edit in annoying forced horizontal pan to show things happening by the edges but whats worst is locked aspect ratio widescreen films that are only watchable on a 16:9 TV because otherwise everything gets compressed long the horisontal

Kaftan Barlast replied to iamthelorax's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion

I just read the mindnumbingly simplicstic "Darth Maul" 4part series comic. Its among the most uninspired comic Ive read.. Maul is given a mission to kill the leaders of Black Sun, and so he does. Nothing more, no twists, no tension, nothing. gah.

40 min to take a damn test? These things are supposed to be fun & relaxing... a random speed clicking gave an astonishing 80, which proves my right index finger is a rather daft person...
