Im getting Dungeon Siege vibes from this.

Well the silver lining to this is that it serves as a warning signal to developers worldwide that cutting down on QA can have very serious consequences indeed. If we're REALLY lucky, it might even get some publishers to stop pushing studios into releasing games prematurely.

This is me and my hound, Leo (yes, being a good old proper rhodesian ridgeback, he does qualify to be classified as a hound) Leo likes to be entertained. He does not like people sitting idly in comfortable chairs. He does not like it when they are occupied with that screen and the little thing in their right hand that clicks, especially if it means they're too occupied to play "tear the head of helge the moose". He doesnt like it at all. But Leo is clever, he has identified the mean of which the humans can be cut from their preoccupation. They must be distracted from the screen or prevented from using the tiny clicking device and the larger, flat one. So Leo gently sneaks up to the human and very gently places his large nose upon either of the two devices. If that does not help, he will simply bring his entire body with him into the armchair on top of the human that resides there, effectively stopping the human from all othe activities. From there he is also free to wreak havoc with the two before named devices, sometimes generating mysterious things to happen with the screen which the human was looking at. ...he just managed to negotiate a satisfying agreement with a Twi'Lek in K2 so its not always a bad thing..

A game can be easily made more challenging by choosing not to take advantage of all the tricks offered. Dont make a carefully built character, dont use magic thingammabobs, take the weakest least useful henchman and so on.. When I make my first RPG, Ill be shure to inlude a good old DooM-esque nightmare mode that isnt really playable...

ATI video cards with KotOR2
Kaftan Barlast replied to Pulverizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Im currently running 5.1 with my 9700 and I just cant shake the "split-face" (a vertical black line is visible between the sides of the face when seen from a distance, disapears up close) bug. This happened in KoTOR also. All drivers Ive tried(4.9, 4.11, 5.1) had it except 5.2 where the whole face disapeared... -

best to repeat this again: ATTENTION: The best working driver is Catalyst 4.11 it is if Im not mistaken the driver that was used to bugfix K2 during development. -

note: If you're experiencing problems with AA, you must manually configure your settings in the Catalyst control panel instead of letting the game handle it. edit: although I do not have K2 yet, the 4.9 Catalyst drivers work excellently with older series cards. IMPORTANT: Can anyone confirm compatibility using DNA drivers? -
Everyone knows nVidia's got the game market by the balls. ATI has tried to get in on the whole "sponsored development" foulplay but nVidia spends more cash on making shure developers make their products primarily compatible with nVidia tech "the way its meant to be played" ...and ATI used to have incompetent driver programmers but I hear thats been fixed.

Well, the only serious thing Im going to say is that alcoholic beverages can lead to experiences worthy of rememberance and to completely abstain from drinking alcohol isnt a very good solution. A couple of glasses of nice wine to your lambsteak is great and so is a night out with your friends, what isnt alright is to chuck down half a bottle of vodka alone on a tuesday night or to constantly sip from that bag-in-box you keep in the fridge. And if your mother/father is an alcoholic you shouldt touch alcohol because its hereditary and youre virtually guaranteed to have problems. But if yer 40+ you should drink one glass of red wine every day, its medicly proven to help against heartproblems aswell as senil dementia. The damage done to your liver is acceptable.

Snus. Beer. Swedes.

Lead designer actually (and writer?) Ivan> That was hillarious and Ive noticed most of them too. But what do you think about character concept and interaction?
-
You dont have Snus in Denmark?

Our defense is excellent and deviously planned, we simply lack anything of interest or gain for an eventually conquering nation to invade us for. :D FInnish, bleh.. its on my top ten ugly language list along with afrikaans, dutch and hebrew. The only scandinavian(although theyre only scandinavian on paper) language worth investigating is Icelandic

I agree that my preference of KoTOR over PsT is a little like choosing pizza over a three-course dinner. Or comparing apples&oranges, but in any case- personal preference determines everything. But if youre as bored as me please go ahead. I always welcome a good debate.

I read those to verify that I had not missed anything vital.
-
Most people would probably call me a whore for saying this but in all honesty, KoTOR is the best, most involving cRPG Ive ever played. ..I read some stuff, synopsis, transcripts etc. of PsT and It appears I did milk out all the characters, and still I remain unimpressed.
-
I did talk exstensively with the PCs repeated times just to find out if I could trigger more chatting. What I got our of Morte was: Now Im pretty shure I milked everything I could out of my NPCs and I still didnt feel as close to them as with my NPCs in BG or KoTOR, ad Im one gets really invovled in games. oh, and how far can one go with Annah? I got as far as kissing her so she turn red hot.
