  1. Haha "And now for something completely different." What the f*ck do that have to do with anything, Volo?
  2. A good story demands atleast some railroading to properly immerse the player. but noone can deny that KoTOR is kid's stuff compared to K2
  3. First I want to say that one could argue that by starting to play a game with no good expectations, it can only go upwards from there. Despite the flaws, its fun to play. But that doesnt make it a good RPG. As for the grammar, I will give the following examples: from intro "...the barrier but he paid a high price for it" This is minor but you DO NOT add "for it" to sentences like that. Its just bad english. I dont remeber much more of what they say in-game but Ill take some examples from the manual to give you an idea "Massive fully lush 3D enviroment to explore" "Numerous ways to achieve quests giving huge replay value" "Storyline continuing from the adventures of the first game game yet able to be played.." Whoever tranlated this game wasnt exactly an A student. But this isnt really important, its just annoying and typical of that ilk of euro developers. What is REALLY annoying though, is that the voiceactor for the PC apparently has no idea of the context of his lines This far in the game, I fully agree with Hades opinion.
  4. I doubt the extra content will be that extensive. Probably just decoration in the peripherals.
  5. Juhani was probably the most annoying character in the game. But its true, it doesnt get worse than TotJ Im gonna make my own SW comic in which I will introduce an exiting new race The Squirrelthar- a primitive but kind race of treeliving beings who live in holes in giant trees. They have enormous front teeth and furry tails. Some rise to become great Jedi but they are haunted by their inherent desire to collect and store various edible items in holes in trees. Because of this, they are easily swayed to the darkside.
  6. That's probably for the best. Another thing just out of the blue? Is there anyone else but me who hates Cathar? I cant stand the feline motherf*ckers. There's just something about them that cries out for immediate galactical genocide
  7. Moral or not, Fallout is too old to be sold. It should be classified as abandonware.. which it, come to think of interplays downfall, probably is. So in fact, downloading it is practicly legal. And sadly, Feargie, Chris and the other guys who made it, wouldnt get a cent even if you did buy it.
  8. Now Ive managed to screw up their brilliant freeform way of designing the campaign. All the idiotic quest are basicly about slaying different monsters of increasing difficulty who so the PC wont get ahead of himself. Now, I hate grinding so I just lured the monsters to the city and let the guards hack em, thereby advancing to chapter 2 with only a level 3 character. But that just comes with the territory I guess. And this game wins the "single-player mmorpg" catgory without doubt. Everything reeks of moorpg-ness from the quests(bring X remains of critter Y to me and Ill give you Z gold and let you join my guild) to the look and design of things. Its like they made this to show future investers what a brilliant Everquest-clone they could make if they were only given the funds. ..but its quite fascinating they took the time to make a rendered intercourse cinematic. strangely, the guy remains fully clothed the whole scene.
  9. Im really curious to see what all the hype was about. (and I like nice happy RPGs where you can stroll around in wonderful green forrests and just relax)
  10. Does the book version differ from the comics? Because there he just throws some sith spell that unfortunantly looks him in Naga Sadows temple for the next 4000 years.
  11. It's a bit strange that you are locked to that one character, I cant see any real reason for it other than pure laziness from the devs. And when I think of it, there really is no roleplaying. Its an action/adventure game where you can choose in which order you say what you say. and the grammar.. "I sell magic sword, do you want I show you it?"
  12. I have rock-hard information that the next game will inlcude gold pirate ships and lightsaberwhips.
  13. First impressions: -inane intro with bad english grammar(bloody gerries) -really thin story -definite mmorpg feeling -lots of pointless killing of various critters with the sole purpopuse of grinding exp -the combat(altough pointless) isnt very difficult or awkward at all IMO, its just basic twitch gaming. Attack, strafe, retreat etc. But the music and maps are very nice and gives it a really comfy atmosphere. Woods, green grass and blue sky.
  14. I managed to aquire it for the price of around 5 euro, and Im just now in the process of installing it. My expectations arent high, from what Ive heard this game is essentially a Morrowind-ish(a game I hated so much I only played it for 1 hour) single-player MMORPG. Its also made by a German studio which isnt exactly a seal of quality storywise. People who like this game also tend to enjoy Divine Divinity, which is another deepdive into the mediocre. Hmm, what is this? They've mislabeled the CDs. Impressive, I wonder what they've managed to do to the actual game? But anyway, does anyone have any useful playing tips?
  15. It si a +5 vibro-punchknife of death. Ive noticed it too, I came yupon the method out of sheer panic, it works from the front too usually. Most enemies like the trandoshan mercs(backpacks) have weakpoints you can shoot to take em down faster. The SBDs seem to lack any weakpoints, it seems like it doesnt matter where you shoot them. But for the damage ratios of this game, Battlefront did it a lot better, it felt like your shots actually had effect.
  16. Ive been a Star Wars junkie since I was 5 years old. That is why I have a C8 ESB-era Boba Fett standing by my right speaker and a MOC RoTJ Darth Vader in special collectors casing lying around here somewhere. But RPG's are also my favorite game genre, and buying KoTOR had more to do with that then my then-dormant SW addiction.
  17. I thought it was really good, except for the "the world was made by evil lizards" plot. As I hate multiplayer RPGs, I tend to think that focusing on that made the Devs not really putting in the effort to create a good SP campaign. I tried to play it co-op with some friends but having those clowns with me totally killed the feeling.
  18. The brand new trailer?
  19. I think they've beefed them up far to much for the game to be enjoyable. Your average grunt droid or trandoshan can take 10 round before they drop whic his too much already, and then those bloody SPDs and Droidekas are nigh invulnerable. There should be 5 times as much Anti Armour ammo available in the levels as it is now because I cant make it without ammo cheats, there just no way I can make the Hangars on the ship levels without it. I want prefer things to die when I fire at them. I hate it when I have to emtpy two full mags into an enemy to bring them down, it feels like hammering nails with a plastic toy hammer. Id rather get swarmed by 20 weak enemies than painfully grinding down a big one.
  20. It's not. Muahaha..Hahh HAHHAhahHAHHA!
  21. :D Female Computer: *locks up* Male user: -Now what's wrong? -Dont you know? -No, I was hoping you'd tell me. -That's just typical, my feelings mean nothing to you. -Wel..uhh..no, I was just... -Well, then Im shutting down and Im not booting up until you figure out what you've done and appologize. *shutting down* -No wait! Ah, damn. She's pissed that I forgot to defrag her harddrive again.
  22. And I thought I was doing a splendid rendition of an early 1900 Irish immigrant..
  23. But shennanigans there be, laddie! *grabs cricket bat* Well that's because: A. There's clrearly something wrong with you. B. You dont know how to pronounce
