Darth Nihilus. Pathetic.
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Funks's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Neither of the KOTOR games were made for Hardcore gamers they are both easy. KOTOR II however gives you more room to make the game more difficult than KOTOR I does. Likewise by fully utilising the crafting system you can make the game a whole lot easier too. Balancing a game where you have a choice of 4 planets isnt going to happen anyway. Even if you scale up the difficulty your still going to smash everything in your path with forcewave just like you could in KOTOR. The major difference is that in KOTOR you only had 5 levels of it. But in KOTOR II you can have it as you arrive on the first planet. It's quite evident that KOTOR rules are not designed to go above 20. Your choice if you want to play the game that way then it's upto you. -

Open Request to Obsidian
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Mosaic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There are a lot of man hours in those extra three months. Because there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the game that extra time would have been a huge benifit. I enjoyed it a lot but the lack of a decent ending left me cold. Granted I play many JRPGs so I'm spoiled when it comes to endings, but even so KOTOR II's was poor (even worse than KOTOR). -
Thinking about Playing NWN
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Zach Morris's topic in Computer and Console
NwN has a couple of difficult moments but it's mostly very ho hum walk a bit fight a couple of things walk a bit more fight a couple more things. No great need for any real tactics (not that you can really with the AI). NwN is less open to "cleverness" because it dosnt have the range of upgrade options that TSL has. Abuse those and the game is going to be easy but common sense should tell you that anyway.. -
I liked the ending!

He's a projected hologram. Presumably programmed to trigger when a certain set of circumstances arrise. Had he been alive and on the hawk It's very unlikely he would leave such an important mission to a remote. Unless they stayed on Telos then everyone is on the hawk and it's on the planet. Whats missing is some sort of explanation of how you get from Telos to MV and what happens to your companions. Whether they stay on Telos or whether they travel with you. -

They scale up with you so the higher level you are the more powers they have. They havnt been scouring the galaxy for equipment like the player so that makes no sense. If you want to fight them on an even keel dont upgrade anything. It's no different really to fighting Malak with a capacitance belt. The differences are not very extreme but again that down to the rules. The forms would have had a big impact at low level much like a Jedi Weapon Masters + to damage would. But at level 30 +6 to damage is negligable when you consider what sort of enhancements and crystals you can put in. Use the highest saber form, a keen saber *2 and master critical strike and you can take down Sion in a single blow. I think the hardest battle was Vrook though. Assuming you do Dantoine first you dont have a lot of powers to choose from and most dont work on him at that stage. -
I liked the ending!

It's doable but takes some timing and a little bit of luck. I just stealth ran the storm beasts (except for the big one) didnt really need any more levels by then. Which made the remote part interesting When I asked her she said she couldnt see him. Which kinda implies he dosnt have a future. -
Talk to the Gommorian by the console.

From the Mandalorean wars to TSL *BIG SPOILERS*
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Zilod's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
She taught Revan while still a Jedi. But her teachings were not in keeping with the views of the order. It seems likely that they did something pretty bad to her. When you talk to the masters they say that they have only cut one person off from the force. That person is likely to be Kreia. Which is perhaps why she sought out the Traya academy as an historian she would have likely known about it. And why Reven returned to her there and drew the Jedi there to convert them. I doubt she would have given Malak the time of day. Kreia is using you to get back at all those people who betrayed her, the Jedi masters and her former allies. But ultimately she is not happy about the "destiny" the force imposed her and she wants it dead too and you are the only instrument capable of that. -
I liked the ending!

Depends on how well you cleaned out the storm beasts. If you didnt clean them out then the droid bit was far from easy. Mira was another one with that giveaway Jedi vibe so she just smacked him into the wall repeatedly with force wave. I was expecting your love interest to come along for the final showdown. But I expect most of the others would have been occupied by either keeping the ship from falling to it's doom or been killed. Seems likely that Bao Dur was killed given how the orders were given and that Kreia couldnt see a future for him. -
I liked the ending!

You need the droidball for the blow MV to bits ending. Mira , no idea why she crops up. Perhaps they planned on giving you a companion for the end game or something. -
I liked the ending!
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Falconhurst's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The force exists in all life. What would be funny is if Revan and the Exile came back leading the old Sith. They would make pretty good villains and you have the bonus of having them already fleshed out. -
Darth Nihilus. Pathetic.
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Funks's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Try it with Atton as a Jedi :D The flaw isnt in the game, it's in the rules. Exactly the same with KOTOR except it didnt kick in quite so soon. Fast leveling dosnt help, but it only brings things forward. -
Darth Nihilus. Pathetic.

Think of Nihilus as Galactus and Visas as the Silver Surfer and everything makes sense :D If your looking for more of a challenge dont use any of the upgrades. -
I liked the ending!
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Falconhurst's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The big mistake with the ending was having it as part of the battle. It just dosnt feel like a closing scene at all. Why they didnt put all those elements into a cinematic is a mystery (time/money comes to mind) but it just felt totally anticlimactic after what was a pretty epic adventure. Granted Sqenix spoil you rotten when it comes to the endings but even so I expected more than a ship flying off into the "sunset". KOTOR II was much better than KOTOR although it really showed up the weakness of the ruleset too. In KOTOR you dont get the big powers till late on. In KOTOR II you have them on your first real planet and the FP's to use them pretty much non stop. I quit playing a consular because it turned into walk forward a bit shoot top force lightning , walk forward a bit more, repeat. The last 1/4 of the game had many similarities to LionHeart.. -
Finished the game for the first time.
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to bliss000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The ending feels very disjointed like as if they were planning something but either ran out of time or changed their minds and left the bits in. Having seen Mira I left the Traya Academy and expected her to be on the doorstep, of course she wasnt. I think there is some way to destroy the planet but I'm not sure how. In my game the Iridonion stopped talking quite early on. Probably something to do with needing more influence but he mostly did bench duties. -

ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Darth Reven's topic in Computer and Console
This is going to be short because I need to get ready to leave. But I've been playing KOTOR II most of the day and I really cant fault it. Definately happy with the choice of going with the Xbox version. The character is so similiar to one I played in a SW PnP game it's almost scary. Needless to say it made getting into character really easy It's VERY obvious who was lead designer on this too. The writing style is very distinct. It's fixed every thing that niggled me about KOTOR. Like on the fly changing on AI , being able to switch weapons without having to dig through the menu every time. The characters also use their special skills a lot more which is nice. The prologue is also really well done and they have done a great job giving the little guy oodles of character this time around (the T-3 unit). Might change when I've played some more but so far top marks across the board. I suspect over crafting will make the game rather easy but most if not all games with crafting require some restraint. Really glad I didnt go dual weapons for a certain individual. I thought about it for a while though -

Mine should arrive in T-10 minutes I went with the Xbox version so I'm not too worried. -
Dont need much more proof than that that PST is the ultimate spoonfeeder. If your characters have no personality or motivation it's because you dont or cant give them one.

I know a couple of people like that. Sorry about your game not working anyway. Maybe you can buy it again after it's patched up or something. -
Even so, it's unlikely in todays society that any millitary leader would be considered great. Britain does have a soft spot for the Iron Duke though. Although I'm not sure where he placed in the 100 greatest Britains thing.
