What we can do about the state of TSL
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Dehumanizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The whole over the top gloomyness isnt the only reason I loathe the ending. Look at it this way. You have been training your friends turning them into an elite fighting force (the Handmaiden could quite easily kill my character) and then the writers decide well none of that matters because the story has to go this way. It's cheap and it's cheesy and if people want to do that sort of thing, well write books dont design games. Any one of my companions could have killed Sion one on without too much effort according to the rules as they are set. So unless there is something particularly special that makes you the only one in the whole galaxy that can do it the ending is non sensical. -
It's a graphic glitch the remote actually slides into the floor if you look closely. What happened is that GOTO ionised the remote and had a dig around inside it. Then he either found its armageddon program and changed it , or did that later.

Droid Merchant on Na Shada Droid Merchant on Dantooine After the crash on Telos After T3 destroys the 3 driods in the warehouse Protocal droid on Izziz And finally from Greeda after you establish peace on Dantooine and Onderon. But only if you choose her over her competitor.

Force mastery for NPCs?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Falconhurst's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes. Yours also stacks from your previous class although it wont show on the main screen you will see it in yout stats. You need good influence (high chr helps) and of course you need to have mastery yourself or close to it. -

What we can do about the state of TSL
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Dehumanizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually the proposed ending was much worse it had nothing to do with Star Wars and was just a tablue of gratuatous torture and suffering. Dosnt belong in a SW game and if LA pulled it they have my thanks. I was hugely miffed about the lack of an ending but having read the scripts I consider it a lucky escape and i'm considerably less miffed. -
Romancing the Handmaiden
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to justin20031009's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What plays out depends on how much influence you have with each character. -
That makes them sound like dwarves it's pretty much what Gimli said in TTT. It's quite likely that they have breeding colonies scattered around. Mira was a slave who grew to identify with her captors.

KOTOR 3 beginning script *Spoiler*
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Soulstar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I like it. Since the ending of KOTOR II was nice and open you could be trained by the people you trained in KOTOR II. Mira could actually go with you and die on the first planet (which would be in keeping with what Kreia said at the end) -
KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Vissas has a fantasticly suductive voice... But i'm a sucker for redheads so it has to be Mira Kreia ? Thats just creepy. Did you take a blaster bolt to the head or something ? -
On the list it says it can be worn by a male PC which is just ever so creepy(and something i've not tried). Looks good on Mira and the handmaiden though. Got to love the Handmaiden. "Honey will you dance for that slimy slug" "Of course" "You have to wear this" Ask Kreia to dance it's priceless

Bao-Dur's family?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Whitemithrandir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Sha stuff. I know that the energy underlay makes them go green. I really havnt done much experimenting otherwise. Green with a veridian saber looks really good. -
Bao-Dur's family?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Whitemithrandir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You can change the coulours with some underlays. Got to give them a bonus for making the headgear a lot less geeky too. He's tough to influence which is why he dosnt appear to have a lot to say. But he will open up if you manage it and he will tell you that he is responsible for the destruction of M5 (or rather something he made) which is where the remote scene on the planet fits in. -
Kreia's goal?

"You expected some grand revelation" ? "Well there is none". -
ummm..did I miss something?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Kurous's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Whew thats a lot. Ok I can clear some up for you. In order to get a prestige class you have to pick a side. Grey Jedi cant have one. What triggers Visas is being 75% dark or light so again if you dont pick a side it wont happen. Hanhar/Mira is another dark light. Looks like you were a little bit on the dark side if you got Hanhar. The mask does something but you cant wear it. Gives you more FP's I think. Gaining influence with Hanhar is tricky but you wont get his story out of him unless you do. Same with all the other characters. As for the Trayus core, well join the club on that one. The only ending that ever seems to play is the one to join Reven (or possibly go into exile again works for both). What you say to Traya and what choice you make dosnt seem to make any difference. I'll fill in the rest tommorow if someone else dosnt. -
http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=30307 It's tragic that the endings are missing. Even if you ignore all the cut stuff there should be a couple of clear endings. Follow Revan (seems to be the cinamatic) Stay on M5 and await students Return to exile Blow the planet to bits. Which is my personal choice but I cant get it to work. It's sad that whichever you choose you have to leave your friends behind. Of course in the planned ending that would have been rather moot.

A few thoughts on the game
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Faith's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Eh ? If your DS then you should get the wookie you never play the bounty hunter you just kill her. -
I wasnt refering to the main plot. Rather I was refering to how the characters would "want to talk" ever time you leveled. It would be like having an intercom saying Exile Kreia wants to see you to pick a prestige class... Or some other indicator everytime some new dialogue becomes available. Just to be sure you dont miss anything. Such as when T3 returns or when your other party gets back from the Sith tomb. Those things are very easy to miss. But it's quite logical to ask them about what they have been upto since you have been seperated. I played though multiple times because I wanted to get the whole story (Hanhar/Disciple) Handmaiden/Mira I never felt even slightly compelled to play KOTOR more than once (except recently to get into practice but that wasnt roleplaying) because KOTOR revealed its story in a very obvious and straightforward manner. So in that respect I got far more value from KOTOR II. I expect most people figured out who they were in KOTOR long before the official unmasking.
-
I dont think anyone is refering to the events after Telos. No excuse for that even though I dont like the proposed missing ending anyway. The only thing that is really missing though is a "beach scene" ala KOTOR which ties up the lose ends because after that it's pretty much hack and push your way to the bad guy in the star forge even if its 3 rather than one. However not paying attention to the scenes or not talking to your companions and expecting to know the more subtle story elements is ridiculous. You may as well put them in a book and save people the trouble of playing. See my should games be obvious thread.
-
Yep you really have to pay attention to things if you want to know whats going on. Females get a bit of an easier time because of the Disciple scenes. When I first saw Nihilus and started to get what was going on I had visions of merging with him to become complete... sure I've seen that somewhere before.
-
I had one crash in 3 and a half games. At that time boxy had been on for 15 hours so I chalked it up to heat frustration and turned it off. I also had the issue with the slaver scene not playing when using the airspeeder to travel around but walking around for a while corrected that. PCs have so many variables that you really cant say that its the games fault because you just dont know what else someone is running or has in the background even virus and those sorts of things.
-
Oh its a 1000 times worse to piss off your publisher especially when they are LA or Atari (hasbro). Plus bad mouthing your publishers make other publishers less likely to want to work with you since your going to shaft them if things go wrong.
-
It depends on the questions being asked. Chris Avalone has posted on several innocuous threads but if your expecting some sort of admission of guilt or blaming of LA I wouldnt hold my breath because an answer would just lead to more questions.. I'm sure next time they will take great pains to remove any unused material though.

It is you just have to pay attention to what is going on.

Things I liked about TSL
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to MaglorD's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Being called "a random cruelty generator" by HK was priceless. It's not often you get warm fuzzies playing a bad guy. She's Revel in a Jedi robe Its interesting because it's exactly what the Jedi council and Bastila were doing to you in KOTOR.. Only in KOTOR they were doing it for their own ends rather than because they wanted you to become stronger.
