  1. I've been trying to make Lord Darryn's Voulge upgrade all the way up to Legendary, but I can't seem to and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. For reference, here are my modified files. This weapon comes as Exceptional and stays so for two unlocks before turning Superb in its third. What I tried to do was change the 2nd unlock so it upgrades to Superb, then change the 3rd so it upgrades to Legendary. To that end, I added the ID for "Exceptional" under "ItemModsToRemoveIDs" and the ID for "Superb" under "ItemModsToAddIDs" for all versions of the 2nd unlock and, mutatis mutandis, the same thing with Superb and Legendary for the 3rd unlock. Thing is, when I place the file in the override folder, nothing changes. I leveled up the weapon on a Fighter using the Unity Console and it remained Exceptional/Superb. Any idea what I'm missing?
  2. Those are actually Inspirations. The symbols are meant to communicate which Afflictions can cancel those Inspirations out. EDIT: got ninja’d twice over.
  3. T:ToN had very short loading times and it’s based on the PoE engine.
  4. You’re looking at my comment from the wrong perspective. My gripe is that Obsidian were the only AAA-grade developer still making the only kind of game I like: isometric, party-based RPGs with RTWP combat. Yes, there have been a few others but none with the production value the Pillars games had. Now that’s extremely likely to be over. If Obsidian are happy with the partnership, more power to them. If they make great games with Microsoft, that’s awesome. But unless they’re old-school RPGs available from GoG DRM-free, I won’t be playing them. I tried Witcher 3, arguably one of the best aRPGs out there judging by its critical success, and I got bored before I even entered the first big city (and that’s not discounting the good writing some of the quests had; I thought some of it was brilliant.) This type of modern games won’t suddenly become my cup of tea just because what I like isn’t being made anymore.
  5. Ah, yes—forgot to mention GoG. Very likely that no new releases will be made available there, and I’m on a strict no-Steam, no-DRM policy.
  6. 4.0 is scheduled for mid December, unless they’ve recently changed their plans.
  7. Very sad news. The Pillars IP will be butchered on the altar of console-driven, brainless shooters with swords (also known as “action RPGs”) for spoiled children with attention-deficit disorder. No more isometric party-based RTWP games for us. Wait for it.
  8. “It’s a nice game” and “It sucked” are contradictory statements.
  9. Thanks for confirming. I was hoping there would be a 3.2 in the middle, as the time frame would have allowed for it—I assume 4.0 is going to be particularly meaty, then.
  10. It's in statuseffects.gamedatabundle. The entry you want to change is "Skald_SE_ApplyOnEvent". A BaseValue of 1 instead 0.5 should do the trick.
  11. If you're referring to 4.0, it will drop mid-December with The Forgotten Sanctum. I'm hoping there'll be a 3.2 in-between.
  12. Not all classes have engagement in Deadfire.
  13. Replace Aloth with Xoti and do the Brilliant + SoT thing. You’ll kill her no problem (though it’s a lengthy fight.) Keep a few of those luminous adra potions handy for when Belranga inflicts two wounds onto a party member.
  14. Beta still ends in 18. No idea what the difference is.
  15. As in, you would have preferred no patches and DLCs?
  16. You can check the crafting menu to see which scrolls are available. I don’t think there any scrolls in the game that can’t be crafted.
  17. While I agree with the points above in principle, I'm already fully enjoying the game and don't find it a problem that a lot of the time is spent at max level. Quite the opposite.
  18. I think he meant you can change the game files so that mods in general are allowed with Challenges.
  19. Unity Console. You'll need this modified py file to make it work with the latest patch until the author updates it.
  20. So, how much was one share again? EDIT: It was 1,000 USD.
  21. I don’t know how easy or hard PoE1 was to mod, but in Deadfire it’s very easy to change the rate at which XP is gained. If you fear you’ll lose interest in the game before it’s over, why not just mod in a slower XP progression? In a few minutes you’ll secure several extra hours of quality entertainment.
