I agree with Kark (and thanks for putting the comparison together, by the way.) The new portraits--and I mean the lot of them--are all consistent in style whereas those from the first game aren't. This is something I noticed while playing PoE as well; not necessarily a big deal per se, but style consistency is certainly very welcome. Indeed, it is the main reason I don't use custom portraits: They won't be in the same style as the originals. Regardless, the new ones aren't that bad and I could certainly get used to them. Sure, those from the first game were really good but the style would clash big time with the rest; they wouldn't show any change in the characters (including aging); and there's Pallegina's order problem as Kark mentioned.

Amazing stuff, MaxQuest! -
Yeah, Bobby Null mentioned that in the original Fig video. They've got a streaming system in place that loads interiors in the background after you enter an area so you won't have to sit through a loading screen each time. Graphics are absolutely amazing from all standpoints. My only criticism, and bear in mind this is very minor, is that the book that carries scripted interactions looks very flat. I understand this might have been done for readability, but it's still a little jarring to see pages in a tome like that be 100% ruler-flat. 00:49 - The whole scene is lovely per se, but those tables and chairs right under the giant watermill (which is clearly soaking the ground) make no sense! XD

I like dragons very much in general, and I think PoE's take on their development is pretty cool and makes for some interesting unique ones (e.g. adra dragon and sky dragon.) I'm curious about what new dragon designs await us in Deadfire, though I agree it shouldn't be always just dragons when it comes to boss fights. I wouldn't like a completely dragon-free game, but more variety would be certainly welcome. Granted, PoE's peculiar take on soul cycle and cosmology pretty much rules out celestials and demons or devils, so that's a good chunk of cool monster design that's out of the question.
