Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsStill getting less bang for the buck than anybody else when reaching levels that would normally grant extra proficiency points. Shouldn’t there be something to make up for it?

Sidekick potraits
AndreaColombo replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)All 4 of them? That I know of, yes. I think she’s drawn all companion portraits for Deadfire, but since she’s got eyes on this thread perhaps she’ll chime in to confirm or deny

Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsIt's all in the OP: 29th September to get the higher tiers; 31st October for everything else. On an unrelated note, does anyone else think that gaining new Weapon Proficiencies at level up is going to be indifferent/useless for the Devoted subclass? Since the class gets penalties for using any weapon other than their favored, all they really need is the proficiency they take at first level, which is going to be for their favored weapon. At that point, reaching levels that grant extra proficiencies is going to get Devoted less bang for their buck compared to every other class.

[CLASS BUILD] Support Priest, or How I Buffed The Others
You could sacrifice Resolve to that end; it's not as important as I initially thought it would be.

AndreaColombo replied to Seafarer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I surely hope they rethink the name "Fessina". It means "little p***y" in Italian.

Just how big a success will Deadfire be in your opinion ?
AndreaColombo replied to firkraag888's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I’d argue if you count aRPGs as RPGs, your definition is too broad

[CLASS BUILD] Support Priest, or How I Buffed The Others
Hi Lampros, I'll be honest, I don't use many scrolls at all when I play (besides the mandatory Scroll of Valor and Scroll of Defense). My MC always ends up having a fairly decent Lore too to enable dialog options, so if I need a scroll I can use either one (but I generally don't.) As for doing damage with spells, that's not something I normally use a Priest for. The Unfaithful build would be better suited to that purpose (and it is my current go-to Priest build to boot, FWIW.)

Multiclassing Update

[CLASS BUILD] Lady of Pain - High-speed, heavy-armored DPS Fighter
Going by memory, "Runner's Wounding Shot" works in melee as well (I definitely never switch to ranged with the LoP and wouldn't put a ranged-only talent in the build.) And yes, you can definitely replace 2H talents with DW talents if you'd rather dual-wield

Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsHe isn't. He is either a Barbarian or a Cipher. You can make him a Witch, if you want, but he isn't one by default.

Multiclassing Update
AndreaColombo replied to Wormerine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The way I interpret it, higher invocation cost is the price they pay for longer linger, which is their signature class ability. Optionally, they can use Brisk Recitation to sacrifice the extended linger duration in favor of faster phrase build-up when they want to use invocations. Makes sense to me.

Multiclassing Update
AndreaColombo replied to Wormerine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Skill trees are the bomb (and IIRC a feature Pathfinder: Kingmaker is also going to have.) I love to be able to plan my build ahead. Oh, and UI, models, and VFX are incredibly spiffy

Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsMay I ask what your character concept was? The previous system also didn't allow MC characters to reach full power in any individual class. You could strike a balance at 10/10 and be meh at two classes, or go for an uneven split like 15/5 or 19/1 where you'd suck at one class, and be strong at the other while not being as strong as you could've been had you gone single class.

Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsIt is possible that once a companion joins, you get to select their first class and whether you want to MC—if you do, a pop-up lets you pick the second class and relative subclass. AD&D-style MC does away with a piece of flexibility I was looking forward to. Say I want to use Xoti as a Monk, but I really want a Priest in my party who is not the Watcher. With the old system, I could take any other companion and slap 19 levels of Priest on them. With AD&D-style MC, I must rely on a hired adventurer instead. However, this is just my nitpicking. I like the new system better overall.

Update #40 - Multiclassing Part II
AndreaColombo replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsI'm also happy with AD&D-style multiclassing, although it isn't clear to me whether it is still possible to multiclass companions now?
