Don't forget the Wizard buff they made too: Tuned ranges of many Wizard spells to be higher. -- Will be interesting to see how much this helps their their spells. -

No EXP from killing MOB?

The idea behind this bothered me at first, but playing the game and "Filling my bestiary log" has been like a little mini-game for me and I enjoy the experience and the small amount of xp for it. I've actually leveled a few times by doing this too (if you are close to leveling for example..go kill stuff > get level) To me gaining xp is secondary to: Challenging combat Exploring the world Finding secrets Enjoying the story So maybe that's another reason why any XP issues don't bother me too much. It's just not my primary focus in the game. -
I fully agree. The 2D to 3D transition happened too fast. For example anime, no 2D cell true animations..mostly 3D CG now. I like all the retro style games coming out lately, 2D is making a comeback! Speaking of Ultima Online, I've long wished for a "Modern" 2D UO game. Shards Online has some of that appeal but it's not 2D, I have yet to try it.

I suggest to send a message to Justin Bell and ask him if it's possible. He responded to someone wanting to replace the combat music in this thread. I suspect the main theme may be locked in but who knows!

Why does this game run poorly?

I've seen the memory leak issue (after a long play period) but I didn't check the Pillars.exe file in the task manager to see what it got up to (will next time) Restarting the game allowed it to run smoother again, like some others have said if it runs choppy even in caves or other small transition areas where it normally doesn't, try restarting the game. Otherwise, my game seems pretty smooth but I do have a somewhat beefy system: I7 3770k GTX 780 SC 16GB DDR3 -
I'm going to try to target bugs I haven't seen reported or may need more examples: *Note, attaching my save and other info in the google drive link below, including screen caps if I have them for said issues: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_GtIS7GOnODUUxHNkVab1Vkb28/view?usp=sharing Possible Outworn Buckler issue: The "Herald" effect on the Paladin only shield "Outworn Buckler" seems to be behaving interestingly. a. It affects your entire party exactly like a focus (+5 to all defenses to everyone in a radius which is SWEET but is it intended?) b. The "Herald Focus" also seems to sometimes go on enemies in close proximity which I'm guessing is a bug even if the first part is by design!! I'm not able to reproduce b. on some brief tests, but I did see it happen once. Another example of higher than normal defenses: I know this is known but there seems to be a couple variations of the inflating stats bug so I thought it may be helpful to see more examples. My characters are mostly affected by having higher than normal deflection, will,etc defense stats(which may be related to the shield issue?). Check them out via the save/screen cap of Durance? Zealous focus icon sometimes getting "stuck": There are several occurrences where my Paladin's (Pallegina) Zealous focus icon got "Stuck" on everyone no matter how close/far they were. However, watching their stats it did increase/decrease properly when moving in and out of the radius so this is a minor graphical bug. Note: I have the accuracy one. Pallegina -DR bug or intended?: Speaking of Pallegina, she has a -2 base DR and -3,-2,-2 on pierce, fire, ad ice attacks if you take off all her armor - is this an Avian godlike minus or not intentional, it may be a good idea to put a description of whatever it is in here character sheet? Interesting if it's intended considering Paladins are supposed to be pretty tanky or at least you would think..? Penetrating blast and penetrating shot stack, intended or bug?: Penetrating blast (Wizard class ability) and Penetrating shot (Modal ability) stack , so -10 DR every blast hit which is really nice, maybe a bit too nice? The main range attack gets it's -5 as it should but the blast gets both together for -10DR advantage from what I saw in the combat log. Feedback: Scrolls, Lore req red on mouse over for attack spells: If you hover over a scroll than can only be used in combat it shows the Lore requirement as "RED" like you don't have the lore skill, guessing what it's supposed to mean is you can't use it right now. It's a bit confusing however, it would be better I think for it to show the normal "white lore requirement met" text, and then just have it greyed out as normal on the quickbar slot, makes sense to me I don't think any additional feedback is needed. Rogue backstab "Passive", thoughts on it's usefulness: I have a really hard time getting a backstab off, I've been doing my best to get stealth as high as possible so I'm not sure if at really high levels it's a lot easier, but need that mechanic skill so yeah got to balance it some. With Stealth 7 most things seem to see me before I can get a proper backstab off. It is fun to use the invis ability then backstab/sneak attack in battle but it would be nice if it was a little easier to open with a backstab as a rogue. So basically since the invis ability is only 2 per rest plus having to get close enough in the time given plus it being very hard to use backstab as an opener, it makes it a very rarely used passive. Possible ideas to improve: a. Decrease it's dmg bonus and let it stack with sneak attack to make it a more worthy "passive". b. Make it always work if within the first 2 seconds of battle (like sneak attack does?) but only that one time, or have it on an interval timer? Backstab on first hit, another one passively happening after 10-15 seconds, something like that? c. Make it an active ability instead of a passive (1 per encounter?) I like this idea the best and it would feel very rogue like to "activate" a backstab. If this is considered too damaging, reducing the bonus to maybe 1.75/1.50 would be acceptable in my opinion.

All hidden item locations are listed in the game official strategy guide Have actually found a few hidden items not in the strategy guide, there are quite a few inconsistent things(bow stats another example) in the strategy guide unfortunately (at least the printed version, have not checked digital one), but it still can be useful.

Waiting on mine..the tracking for it just says "Shipping label created" on March 27th in CA. As that is my state I'm guessing it can sit around for a bit to "make" the 3 day shipping time frame. My email says: Your order was shipped via USPS Priority Mail + Delivery Confirmation, and is estimated to arrive March 31, 2015 - April 1, 2015. So yeah today or tomorrow hopefully, looking like tomorrow as the mail already came today. -
Thanks Roby for taking the time to let us know. I think it would be a good idea to make an updated sticky post with "major known issues" and the status of these issues expected to be in the next patch, along with an approximate patch "week or day" if possible. It could be called "Known issues and patch status" or something. I think it will go a long way to appease all the forum and net traffic about bugs, perhaps also make a tweet letting people know the post is available as well? You could throw this in the tech support forum since it can contain spoilers, and also the main forum as well (main forum would link to tech forum warning users that there may be spoilers) Keep up the good work!

Would be an awesome community effort to figure this out and then voice the entire dialog of the game, via auditions etc. Talk about a gargantuan project though!!

Nothing stopping you from making a dual wielding high might fighter and then taking all +dmg types of talents. I think it would have been cool though to have a couple of pre-made recommended builds though in character creation like: Tank DPS Hybrid etc. The idea is that you could toggle between these during character create in order to see the recommended stats change for the class you have selected. -
I have to agree that more communication would be nice, they actually had quite a bit of communication up until a few days after release then it got real quiet afterwards. I'm guessing that either they are really hard at work or took a well deserved few days off. Regardless of the reasons, I'm sure the fixes will come in time. It just doesn't look that good to have almost no news (without digging for it) when it should be easily accessible here.

Even though my hirelings list as unpaid it seems to still charge me every 5 days. Haven't tried hiring the special hirelings yet as I didn't want to pay their upkeep so can't speak to that bug.
