@BAdler Just curious do the different editions have different in game start menu (i.e. a little sub title under the main title indicating the edition) / loading screens at the start with titles of "Royal Edition" or even "Collectors Edition" for the actual collectors SKU (physical install) or are they all the same? Along the same lines did you do anything special for the desktop icon for Collectors, or is it also the same?- 84 replies

Sensuki, when the full game releases you are going to have to take a few weeks off for all the bug/mechanics testing xD Out of curiosity, have you arranged any time of work for this!?!

Pretty disappointed, this launches in December?

For me, as long as they can fix these things I'll start testing more: 1. Items "poofing" 2. Quests "poofing" 3. Effects stacking like crazy These are hopefully all related to save/load issues - My hope is that they can be fixed in the first patch. I don't agree with their decision on releasing the beta with these issues known, but I guess they wanted to get it to us ASAP so we would catch other stuff to help them with. I feel more like this is an Alpha over a beta with these particular bugs present. Where the game is now, I'm just not patient enough to test it further right now - I guess I'm not a good tester! I did report a few things, but with all the bug spam on the forums it's hard to know if what I'm reporting is even worth it. It would be great if they would keep updating the known issues list to reflect all the bugs people have reported or just have a better system for bug reporting in general. I still love you Obsidian, I just have to wait a bit to test further, sorry! -
Black Screen on New Game

Are you using a laptop or an older computer? If it's a laptop, maybe try disabling your internal video card in the bios if you have two. You would have to find out if you have two though before you do that..maybe it's trying to use the weaker card if you have two is my thought. With that said, the game is unomptimized at this point but they are working on the Mac and Linux beta releases too, so good luck man. -
Black Screen on New Game

Try hitting space when you get black screens like that. Sometimes the game doesn't unpause when loading areas / loading for the first time. Space, if that's the issue will "unpause" it and let you start. Good luck -
Missing String - Master List

This is a little different, it's a *NameError* one. It seems similiar though so posting here. My BB Wizard is dazed so has -1 Int per his "Active Effects" on his character sheet. The description on clicking "Int" from "Character" shows -2 however and also has a *NameError*. He has major fatigue atm and an array of overlapping/duplicate effects so that may be factoring in. When I click "Int" on his character portrait I get attached. Also attached a copy of most of the duplicate effects on my Wizard. Missing String - Master List

Wizard Grimorie: Level 1 Spell "Thrust of Tattered Veils" has a missing string. (attached) Misc: In the party and personal "Records", there are quite a few monsters that have *Missing String* listed under "Most Powerful Enemy Defeated". Note, I also attached my cyclopedia entries for monsters so you can see what I have slain. (attached)- 78 replies

I'm also having this issue, and have done the same thing you are doing to fix it. Beyond disabling the second montior view entirely I haven't found any other workarounds. This should probably be moved to the bug forum if there isn't already one there.

It's looking great! Like others have said the seaweed really adds to that beach scene! I would love to see character footprints on the sand as you bring a character through such a scene if at all possible. I haven't seen a whole lot of character animation / spell + ability animiations yet but please spend a lot of polish time on these, if you nail these down that will be just awesome. If these are not "right" in a game, I have a hard time getting immersed into the game as minimal frames/incomplete and/or poor animations are quite distracting imo. With that being siad, I'm looking forward to the beta testing to help with bugs, even if what I mention above isn't fully polished by then!!
