PoE Guidebook by DarkHorse
I spent 250 dollars plus 30 dollars for shipping just to get that collectors book. Well, of course the game too and support Obs. but I am quite disappointed, if it's the same as the BACKER collector's book. Oh well... If it brings more money and thus more and better content for PoE (in the future, expansion etc.) then I guess it is justified and ok. Kind of.

Delayed to early 2015
Noooo, bet lost horribly. All is lost... Just kidding, I'm glad Obsidian is brave enough to delay the game to make it as polished as possible.

Second impressions thread! [Build 278 version]
Second impressions: created my character, leveled him up, went straight to the inn and bought a level one barbarian and then tried to go upstairs "You must gather your party before venturing forth", then tried to go out from the inn "You must gather your party before venturing forth" and then hit alt+F4. I'll try to duplicate the bug later and then report it.

Sensuki's Suggestions #007: Might Percentile bonus in relation to Weapon Balance
Without thinking too much, fast weapons dish out more hits=more chances for interruptions and if a heavy hitting slow weapon misses, no damage at all.

OE Communication Plans
Yeeees... It would be nice. Communication is always nice. I hope we get some input on the matter from OE.

How are people finding the beta?
Forlorn Hope replied to TheTeaMustFlow's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You can get it as an 25 dollar addon. If I remember correctly the offer ends on friday the 22th of August (the day after tomorrow!) About the beta: Exactly what IndiraLightfoot said Edit: And all the others thus far :D

Experience point system in the beta and onwards
Did you check if you still had the quests/tasks in your journal? Did you use save/load before completing the task? It's possible that the quest and tasks were wiped out from the journal before you completed them, if you loaded the game after receiving the quest.

Combat feels: Activeness, Speed and Pace.
This is basically how I played. I had my paladin with his auras blasting away with an arbalest along with four other characters using ranged weapons, for example guns and crossbows, while the bb fighter held the mobs in place. The mage and cleric used offensive spells at times. This way, for example the ogre was downed in a blink of an eye. Using these tactics I never had to resort to rest-spamming etc. Easy as goblin pie.

Experience point system in the beta and onwards
I find this odd. I've played 8 hours and I have rested only a few times. I play on hard. I usually rest when the party gets fatigued due to travelling. Then again, I never used rest-spamming in IWD, BG etc. About XP: As stated earlier, the current state of the beta makes quest XP look bad. After a couple of patches we'll see how it plays out. However, I do miss kill XP at times. For the sake of immersion, it's weird if you tend to complete quests without resorting to combat but you are still able to level up your characters and increase their fighting prowess.

Bugs I have encountered and overall impressions
My list of bugs: Character gets stuck in a "falling" animation after battle if knocked unconscious, upon loading a game I get white boxes and green circles in the boxes above the portraits, I can't finish the ogre quest because the head (and blood) always disappears from my inventory (after loading), Ogre never has the club, missing equipment (after loading/ sometimes on stratup), quest disappearing after loading but coming back after quitting the game and restarting, attack animations are buggy; ranged weapons are used as melee weapons, character sounds missing, weapon sounds missing (guns), sometimes attack animations are looped over and over again after battle, loot dropped but not appearing in inventory, random crashes when loading etc. Some of these are already in the known issues but just dropping down the bugs I have encountered. However, really digging the feel of the game, the spell effects, the sounds/music, guns are so cool and the art in general is great. So much potential, can't wait for the release! Attachements: DxDiag and error.log (after a crash I got a message that encouraged me to send the error.log to the devs!), screenshot DxDiag.txt error.txt

Portrait review
I hope we get many more portraits to choose from in the final game!

Disappearing Quests
Same here. After loading everything was gone: quests, fog of war, many items etc.

Elf Portrait
Forlorn Hope replied to gamerdude130's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)People have different tastes and that's great in my opinion. There are good portraits in all the games mentioned but perhaps my favorite ones are from IWD and IWD 2. However, some PoE portraits look very good indeed.

Really happy with the game so far. Of course there's room for minor adjustments (some animations etc) but overall PoE is looking very promising. Additionally, I'm glad we get a piglet! If memory serves, there was a pet thread ages ago and I was hoping for a pet pig or a boar (can't remember) with a top hat and all we need now is a top hat! :D Edit: And yes, the arbalest animation looks really neat!

Guess the release date!
