Why make a remaster of a Bethesda game? Even without a remaster, they only ever made one game and are remaking it over and over again with new textures.

That game really clicked with me. The plot isn't groundbreaking. The UI isn't the prettiest. But it was the closest a PC game got to the fun of being a teenager and hanging out with friends playing DnD.

Blame Star Trek. Tricorders became the easy excuse to have insta-science.

I tried to start a new playthrough of Outer Worlds - and try the dlc - but am realizing that I care so little for the story, I find it a chore.

I finished Black Book and really enjoyed it. Rural pre-revolution folklore Russia is a great setting. The main plot points of the story were predictable, but the road there was refreshingly different due to the setting. Finished with 0 sins, so eventually might do an evil playthrough with loads of sins.

The only thing I hated about Owlcat's Pathfinder games and what ultimately stopped me from playing them is the overabundance of stat reducing effects, Almost every enemy reduces your stats each time they blink at you.

The price tag on the Age of Wonders DLC did look like a bad April Fools joke. 25 euros for one new leader type.

Incidentally, the pillar of gaming journalism, PC Gamer, listed Age of Wonders 4: Giant Kings as an April Fool's joke, because they couldn't be bothered to actually check releases and simply decided everything today is a lie. They have since corrected their article.

I think she is the only interaction people consider a proper romance option. Even though, as most things with Arcanum, it wasn't fleshed out. Arcanum has the same curse as Fallout 2, so many ideas for npcs and no time to really work on all of them. Though with Fallout 2, with Sulik, Myron, and Marcus having the animated dialogues made it so much more obvious that there were things not implemented for every companion.

The survey about a GOG subscription service is terrible. You can't pick the option "f off, I hate subscription services". Instead they go "even if you do not find the service interesting what do you think other people could find interesting". In the end people like myself will quit the survey, so they will only get a limited feedback that will show a 100% interest in the service. And as a bonus they will get some people who will be irritated their time was wasted with a stupid survey (as demonstrated by this post).

Tried Shadow of the Road as well. Overall enjoyable though the Alpha shows. The UI needs work. It seems all dialogues are timed, similar to Alpha Protocol.

From what a quick online search revealed, it seems that cropping usually happened to both ears, so I guess with bandits you would be paid for sets or only either the left or right, so people couldn't double dip.

I like that the exploit in itself is an easter egg. You <redacted>, so you find <redacted>. You can <redacted>. There you <redacted>. And that takes you directly to the ending. And it all makes sense.

With the current craze of turning everything into an open world survival crafting game, it may be better if they don't remember some old games.

Things to know about Arcanum: AoE works through walls. So the Jolt spell (if I remember the name) can clear most dungeons easily by walking along walls and killing the monsters on the other side. Generally magic is stronger than technology. The living one will be reborn on wings of fire. You can skip half the game by exploiting teleportation on the world map. You can't trust gnomes. Good and evil playthroughs are different enough to make a second playthrough worthwhile.

I'm playing Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap. Just defeated the Mummy Dragon and turned into a mouse. So I stopped dying as a fire-spitting lizard-man and started dying as a tiny acrobatic mouse-man.

Not really. The combat is the series strong point. So if you don't enjoy it, skip the games entirely. I mean, obviously you auto-resolve the sure fights that would just waste your time, but you should be playing the "fun" and "challenging" ones for the fun of it. I find myself auto-resolving more in AoW4.

Meaning they also can't write a good story? 😛 Seriously, Triumph's writing got worse with each game. It peaked in badness with Planetfall though, so I think they are a bit embarrassed that AoW4 has returned to AoW3 levels of writing. AoW4 is shaping up to becoming a good game. It is a shame it needed so many DLC for it though. edit: The News: KCD2 releases on GOG on 28th March.
