  1. I didn't mind them too much until I tried reading the terrible, horrible novels. Before that, they simply had an elitist yet honourable air with their batchalls etc. Then you realise they send mechs against normal people for "training".
  2. I first thought "Cool!" then remembered that I can't stand the Clans - eugenic, fascist clone experiments they are - so decided against trying it.
  3. My problem is twofold: 1) if for whatever reason my internet is dead, I can't game. 2) if for whatever reason they kill the server (EA with Darkspore), I can't game.
  4. My regret: I couldn't find a nice old set of scales to put the gargoyle's quest cartridge on one side and chocolate on the other.
  5. Yeah, I boycott every company that doesn't force me to be online for my single player experience.
  6. Fired up Vambrace: Cold Soul Got an achievement for Starting the game The members of my tutorial team are Biggs and Wedge...
  7. I enjoyed transmog in GuildWars 2 and Old Republic. If you are going to try and get people's money by selling them a "look how you want" or generally spend hundreds of hours with that character, I believe it only makes sense to allow players to enjoy it.
  8. Not playing DA Inquisition. After spending several minutes staring at this, I Alt+F4ed out of it.
  9. Yeah, last time I accidentally romanced the Red Jenny lady, and the whole romance thing I just found so off-putting. So this time I'll pay more attention so that I keep everyone at arm's length. I loath Bioware romance more than most other romance things I have encountered.
  10. And now you basically described the Saints Row franchise
  11. The thing is, Bruce could probably quit his dayjob and live off the monetisation from that channel.
  12. I reinstalled that Ink-uisition thingy. Maybe this time I'll last through it?
  13. And they do want this outcome. Look at Greece removing art from the syllabus and replacing it with cheerleading.
  14. Word is the Russians are behind everything. They so zealously meddle, they even started the rumours that they are behind everything. And if you are missing socks - the Russians.
  15. Some of the extreme damage from old posts is due to an Argenta bug, where a certain ability would not raise damage according to the modifier provided by the stat (+1, +2, +5 etc) but by the stat itself. An Argenta with (I think Perception) 95 would multiply damage by 95 instead of times 5. It is still strange though how for a game with surprisingly few actual worthwhile choices when leveling up, it is easy to make all the wrong ones. And not getting the exact weapon you need at the exact time you need it makes a lot of difference as well - there just isn't a lot of worthwhile loot. The vast majority of weapons you just trade for reputation. Argenta progresses between something like 3 boltguns throughout the whole game, and only her alt weapon slot makes any difference between builds. Again though, there may be just two heavy bolters and two flamers worth equipping. Most likely, if you messed up anything it is colony projects, locking you out of two or three items worth buying. Again, most items you get from the factions are again just bloat.
  16. Shame they didn't include the four characters in the article. Would be interesting to know what we would pick had we been part of the study.
  17. Uralon's room has two entrances. The main elevator takes you into a bad starting position. If you sneak in through the back, you have better cover. For what it's worth, my party lineup was me (Officer->Master Tactician), Hendrix (Assassin) because we were going to fight heretics so it made thematic sense, Ulfar because he can keep enemies busy and has mobility and for his personal mission, Pascal (Bounty Hunter) because we would fight hereteks and it is a mechanicus world, the Senechal dude who is so bland I forget his name to facetank the enemies, and Argenta because you should never leave home without an Argenta. Tried the front door and had one down in round one. Tried the back door and wiped the floor with them.
  18. I heard Hurls-h/n-o(r)t played DA: Origins a couple of months ago, and was surprised how well the graphics have held up. (People who have played Champions Online will also know that they have to shut down all those beacons. They emit a high frequency signal that drives the Qular crazy).
  19. Have fun. But remember: Swooping is bad.
  20. It says so on the internet. It must be true.
  21. You can do all groups. You need to do planetary projects that give reputation, then sell a lot of crap for the last points. You don't really need any of the loot for anything else. Keep one stack of each just in case. The rest sell to factions. You need to reach max before the end of chapter 4.
  22. It is tricky. You basically need to pick every choice of your chosen alignment or you get locked out, as later choices are progressively locked behind higher requirements. So if you aren't votary by a certain point, choices in chapter 4 are most likely locked. It sucks. You are supposed to do three playthroughs, one for each morality and always pick every option. Most annoying for Heretics who miss out on Foulstone that way. Very bad design. For Heinrix it really depends on your party setup. My Heinrix was a high mobility assassin who could easily reach faraway lights, while the spacewoof could plod off in the other direction. The fight was extremely unmemorable. Chapter 4 is known for the cut content. The frozen planet in Chorda's domain has it's whole questline cut and through console commands you can apparently teleport to the areas that are just sitting in the code but are disconnected from the live game.
  23. Tried the Breachway demo. It seems like a good game if you want card based combat, move across nodes to encounter random encounters and eventually die and do the same thing again and again, possibly unlocking stuff on the way. Turns out, I am no longer all that into this kind of game. Which is a shame. It may have been more fun getting bored of the genre with this game.
