About Economy in cRPG

Traveling merchants... hm, nice idea, I totally forgot such a nice feature from the recent fallout games. I'm italian, and this is most definitely funny. Especially from 2:33. -
The Monk Class
DocDoomII replied to Aedelric's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Trulez, you don't even know if any kind of soul in this game can be apt at any kind of combat ability. By a roleplay standponint that would be enough to justify the class. But you don't even know what kind of ability a monk, a barbarian and a normal warrior will have, how they work and what effect they may apply. For what we know, monks punches can hit tsubo* like in Hokuto no Ken and by doing so debilitate the opponent. *Either directly or with forceful impact through the armor. This is all speculation, you can't be against a class without even knowing how the hell it will work. -

Where is everyone from

That's Europe as in the physical continent, not the European Union. Even though, money aside, UK is part of it nonetheless. -

With your logic there shouldn't even be more than one weapon, since every time a newer is invented, all other weapons should just be thrown out of the window. Or why have dozens of martial arts? Just pick the deadlier and discard all others. -

Heh. I hope it will be at least released at the same time worldwide, the digital delivery version at least, because usually games come out in US first, and the next day for EU because by that time the EU day is already over. -

DAII stepped even further and suffered from "Final Fantasy-ization" (super flashy abilities, huge weapons, art style) and Alien-ization (They're coming down the roofs. They're coming down the goddamn roofs!) -

I hope it will be some kind of temple/dungeon of cultists who revere a long gone and forgotten god and we must try to stop them to revive him. Something classic like that. -

I don't agree. Look at history, like 4000 years ago. Precious metals were always used as a common currency. I'm not saying that a country should have gold coins and another stone coins. I'm saying that they should have different value. Like between € and $. In the past a silver coin of a region din't have the same value of that of another because the amount of silver in the actual money was different. Or look at the various fallout games, there were caps, real pre fallout currency, even beverage can's opening tab (or whatever they are called). -
