In the first stream: - Goldpack Knight/Shifter - Berserker/Transmuter In the second one: - Nalpazca/Priest of Magran - Sharpshooter/Beckoner - Soul Blade/Assassin I have the feeling the devs really like the melee/caster hybrid builds. Any thought/comments on the builds the devs build so far

Thoughts on Ranger and Ranger Subs..
dunehunter replied to DigitalCrack's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yeah I agree animal should be tied to power level instead of character level. -
Blunderbuss modal is a bit different, it doesn't trigger the effect of ability, at least not affliction from ability, not sure about Swift Flurry, but I think it will not trigger.

Proficiency Expectations : Quite Disappointed...
dunehunter replied to DexGames's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Sounds Ok, would prefer 5 Ranks overall. Only Fighters allowed to Rank 5 seems quite restrictive though. A Defensive Focused Paladin should be able to acces a Lvl 5 Shields Proficiency for exemple. As a Rogue should be allowed to acces Lvl 5 Dagger / Stylettos / Pistols... Maybe no restrictions at all, for any class, as long as you invest in it. Instead of a new active ability, or passive one... It a trade-off choice you'd make. As Bhaltazar said, I also meant a bonus to Accuracy when Ranking Up in a said Weapon, even a slight Bonus. As for Modal, make it Evolve / Ranks up ? Rank 5 sounds too complicated for me. And I only think Fighters should get access to the highest level because their passive abilities will be shared in generic pool in next patch. So it's fair for them to grant some advantage in weapon proficiency imo. Talking about bonus to weapon of proficiency, there is already an ability called Weapon Focus that serves the purpose. And people are talking about the penalty of the modal is too much to use, so reduce penalty when one have higher level in weapon proficiency seems better to me.- 14 replies

Yeah, check this :D I think can top that: try Sharpshooter/Monk with a blasting rod, Swift Flurry and Driving Flight. Driving Flight doubles the blasting (every projectile triggers two blasts: one normal and one from Driving Flight) and every blast has the AoE-potential for a crit. Usually you oly need one shot for a group of 10 spawned dummies. I guess it's even deadly and superpowerful when Swift Flurry gets fixed. You can still get 4 crits/hits per victim from one shot. Yeah indeed, fighters get more critical chance, but rangers have driving flight, I agree rangers have a better synergy here. 4 aoe from one shot is really nice to clear enemies.

What about 3 level of weapon proficiency, the first level is what the current system is, the 2nd level half the penalty of the modal, the 3rd level remove the penalty of modal. And only fighters can level the weapon proficiency to level 3? Easy to imply and understand.- 14 replies

Thoughts on Wizard Summoned Weapons
dunehunter replied to JerekKruger's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Berath's spiritual sword is really good tho, my paladin/berath priest does more than 100 damage per hit with that dark greatsword. Too bad I cannot do Bleak walker/Berath priest :/ Edit: and Skaen priest's apprentice sneak attack stack with rogue sneak attack, so a Skaen Priest/Rogue would work too, and it has club/stiletto spiritual weapons. -
Arcane Assault gains no functional bonus from power level

[Beguiler] What is illusion cipher spells?

Hey crystalis78, the Sworn Enemy works for spells in POE 1 too, does this bug fixing also let spell get Sworn Enemy bonus now?

Thoughts on Wizard Summoned Weapons
dunehunter replied to JerekKruger's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
The Citzal's Spirit Lance has some kinda of old Carnage like aoe damage, so I'm sure it will have synergy with other classes. But it comes so slow to make it useful. And the Staff spell is not very good yeah. But if there's no draining weapon in game, then it will make the Concelhaut's Staff unique. Firebrand is also downtuned now it is not worth casting right now. -
Arcane Assault gains no functional bonus from power level
dunehunter replied to SaruNi's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
I have the same wonder about spell like fireballs and lightning bolt. Does this mean it's only the UI bug, but these are also affected by power level but just not shown when mousing over the damage? -
[BUG] Citzal's Spirit Lance last much shorter
dunehunter posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
The spell's tooltip shows it last around 85 second, but it last like 10 second in battle. -
Summoned weapons: Universal but not for the Devoted?
dunehunter replied to AndreaColombo's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
In bg2, if you summon a magic weapon, you are temporarily granted weapon proficiency of that weapon type, and lose it when your summon duration is end. Why can't we imply this into Deadfire? -
Yeah it is true. But same as bg2, a mage/cleric is weak in the beginning of the game, but become much more powerful after you get enough spells and spell sequencer/spell triggers to work for cleric spells. I feel in Deadfire if you want to play a caster, it's better to single class it.

Should Might stay multiplicative or return to additive?
dunehunter replied to KDubya's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yeah as I posted earlier here, I'm Ok that Might is a multiplier if it has diminishing effect as Dex does But still I like it as an addictive because it frees cipher and rogue to choose other stats but also provide those who doesn't access to large basic damage bonus a way to boost their damage. Because if it's an addictive, the larger basic damage bonus u have, the less gain u get from Might. -
A Fighter/Tricker or Wizard/Streetfighter would be good ripositer. Multiclass wizard doesn't have enough resource to blast and prot at same time imo. Soul blade/Assassin is a good off combo. Chanter/priest should be cool support/summon combo imo. Wizard imo should be left single if you want to blast things.
