  1. Wait, our hero is a fully deployed alien egg sack?
  2. Guard dogs with a wider detection radius than humans, that can alert the guards by barking when they detect something.
  3. History has always been interpreted through the filter of current interests...
  4. No, not all suicide bombers are fanatics. Some choose to die so their destitute family will get looked after, for example. A more pacifist example might be the Green peace whaling ship chasers.
  5. It's the contagion aspect of so-called sympathetic magic--anything that comes in contact with something else continues to act on it, even at a distance. A magical effect could thus be bestowed through the quiver, a cup at the bottom of the quiver, the archer's glove, a material on the archer's fingers, or the bow itself.
  6. I'm not sure whether you would see cold breath at this scale. But having the lighting and visibility change with the weather would be a nice touch.
  7. Yes, eliminating words can change how people think. I just don't think it's the right way to go about it. 5 examples of how the languages we speak can affect the way we think.
  8. Why would a quiver change the properties or composition of an arrow? If it did, why wouldn't a sheath change the properties or composition of a sword? Magic.
  9. Yes, eliminating words can change how people think. I just don't think it's the right way to go about it.
  10. No, I'm not doing any VO. We need a dislike button on these forums Most forums or others like facebook don't have dislike button that just for fun;) There's no such thing. It would be too easy to misread a vanilla 'dislike' message, creating unnecessary conflict.
  11. ^^^ I'm sure it will be of interest to a certain audience segment; less interesting to the hack-n-slay crowd.
  12. Rather than trivializing the addition, might I suggest simply choosing a tasteful quote from the bard?
  13. Yup, my suggestion was to provide something like an abstracted ammunition "pipeline" that you purchase from a merchant and can then place in a slot. You're basically buying an "all you can use" contract--in effect, the storekeep is gambling that you will die before he takes a loss on the supplied ammo.
  14. I wonder whether UN observers be invited to oversee the Crimea referendum on joining Russia? That would help validate their claim; otherwise I can't see how the vote results would not be considered highly suspect.
  15. Hi Adam, I'm curious to find out how the integration of the KS contributor NPC designs have been coming along? I'd imagine you're getting quite a few unusual ideas, which I'll bet are a challenge to adopt into the setting. Could you speak to that? Thank you.
  16. It has been said that playing plenty of games is helpful to developers. It's probably good for learning useful techniques, while observing elements to avoid or improve. I suspect that depth and breadth of experience may be more important than the specific games played.
  17. I had a curiosity question that is mildly related to the topic: apparently the God-like beings are unable to reproduce. In that case, are they entirely divested of their romantic tendencies due to their birthright? Or do they exhibit the normal range of romantic tendencies? I.e. are they Geralt-like (in reference to the protagonist in the Witcher CRPG)?
  18. "Would you like to take a look at my ditties?" So many unfulfilled lyricists, so little time.
  19. Dormant state?
  20. You're a pretty perverse individual and delusional. Is he? is he really? But Boo's question is of such a personal nature... well, the thought of it makes me blush right down to my buttocks! Many thanks, Aerie! Soon, maybe, Boo can return his little-mind to thoughts of butt-kicking instead of butt-itching, and I for one shall be very relieved! Boo is small and evasive, and there is ever so much of Minsc to search. Boo must have his exercise, lest he bite us all in hard to reach places. A den of stinking evil. Cover your nose Boo! We will leave no crevice untouched!
  21. Possibly, if the only thing it impacted were emergent game play elements like your reputation scores. Branches to the plot line would likely be much more expensive.
  22. Whoosh... right over my head.
  23. Every trait that effects dialogue may represent a large addition to the game development cost because all of those conversation trees need to be written. It's likely much cheaper to implement elements like skill modifiers.
