when the team is made of noobs, the ground attack plane gets the most air kills while spending most of the game flying low and slow i post it as a link because "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/36363342763540597/C955EA2271A2B2CDC7F045209D72C09E5E89C109/

i tried to use that 7 days for free offer that EA had for BF4. i installed the game, i launched it and... nothing! "the 7 day game time for this account has already been used. please buy the game". WTF? i never played this game since the time of the beta when i found that my pc (then) could not run it at more than 20fps. do they count the 7 days of the beta as the free game time i used? and since the progress is saved for you to pick up where you left when you get the game, i can see that nobody used this time by hacking my account since the profile is at 0 (and nobody would care about the account if they hacked it since i only have the vanila BF3 and ME3 in it)

i ve been calling tablets useless for the general public since the day i first saw them. infact everyone i convinced not to waste money on a tablet now thanks me. there is a very limited selection of activities that could benefit from a tablet but for the rest its just an oversised phone without the "phone" part

Swashbuckler/Pirate Build?

Is there a manual where all this is covered? I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment... not until the release, however some tips you can find in these videos -
Swashbuckler/Pirate Build?
teknoman2 replied to Oxford_Guy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
skills like mechanics, lore etc have no direct impact on the combat. with lore of course you get to figure out the stats and weaknesses of enemies you fight and with mechanics you may get to set traps and lure enemies into them, but they do not affect your performance in the actual combat -
different languages

if i dont know a word i usually just try to figure out it's meaning from the context. if the exact meaning of the word cant be extrapolated because of the nature of the word itself or due to the rest of the text giving no clues, i can still find the purpose of the word in the frase (i dont know what a word actually is, but i can understand that it is used as an insult or a compliment and so on) -
lol one guy asks why there are single planets and not entire solar systems. it seems nobody has informed him that there is a certain zone around a star where the conditions are right for sustaining life. all planets outside the zone may have small outposts but cant support vast colonies even with terraforming. they are simply too close or too far to have a viable enviroment outside artificial biospheres

Swashbuckler/Pirate Build?
teknoman2 replied to Oxford_Guy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
well you will need the relevant weapon skills, as for dirty tricks they come with the class. aristocrat fallen on hard times is a character background you can choose and may change some stats and you dont have to get traps thieving you can just as easily invest in other skills. as for guns its anyone's guess until the games comes out -
New Engine?
teknoman2 replied to Aoha's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
you may have to put your entire party in stealth mode, but you dont need to move the entire party at the same time. you can leave the rest out of sight and move closer with the guy who has more stealth skill. in IE games, i went closer with my thief to see where the enemies were, then i shot fireballs or other aoe spells with my wizards while keeping them out of view range. -
i have not played DA2, but in the witcher you could always take the moral highground and tell both of them to F off. in witcher 2, you picked a side for personal convenience and in both cases the events were out of your hands (after all there is only so much one man can do in such short time). still your part in it is strictly for personal reasons and if you dont care what each side stands for where's the problem? to use a real life analogy i dont care what console sells more or has more exclusives. the fact that i picked one over the other was because that one served my needs better. the fact that each has fanboys, does not mean i have to join their ranks because of my choice

Mass Effect was Lawful Good - Rude Good so it doesn't really fit this discussion. Not many games do: you save the world regardless, just sometimes you're a jerk about it. Unless the 'Control' ending of ME3 secretly involved Shepard using the Reapers as his personal army to conquer the universe, I suppose. I do understand the perspective of your friend though, sometimes playing a jerk is actually harder than playing evil. Evil people presumably still have friends, things, places that they care about, yet in many games, it's expected that you be a jerk to everyone and not give a damn about anything, treat your party members badly, etcetera. This is nonsensical, but all too common a problem: the 'evil' option is really nothing more than Stupid Evil (or indeed Chaotic Stupid, or the elusive True Stupid). Still, the gentlemanly bandit archetype is a well-established trope so there's plenty of scope to play like that if a game allows it. Sometimes it's flat out impossible due to lazy scripting, e.g. magical karma systems where people automatically know what you do and react as such. No witnesses is no witnesses, dammit. Appropriately enough, one of my favourite Oglaf quotes (from "Abyss"): "Good and evil are relative, but being a **** cannot be allowed." mass effect is Heroic hero or Rude hero, but the dialogue options as they are written look like Hero or Douchebag to make an example you get 1. Just listen to me (paragon) that actualy means: I know you need to make a profit here, but think of the publicity it would provide if you gave a few of your guns for free to a spectre. 2. F*** off idiot (renegade) that actualy means: I could use my authority to get your guns for free anyway, so it's better for you to take my deal. in both cases you make a reasonable argument in favor of your proposed deal, but while the short version of paragon hints at reasonable persuasion, the short version of renegade makes it look like you are going to punch him and leave without the guns

in 2 they have morphine that is quite expensive and can be used once per rest on each member of the party (while suplies last). it restores 20% of your hp (based on max). in 3 there is morphine (cheap now) and also regenerative nanomachines. morphine is the same as in 2, the nanomachines are a huge invesment and they give a passive bonus: they restore 1hp/minute up to 50% of you max and 2sp/10s in 4 the morphine is no more but they have the nanomachines (cheaper) and a hypospray that can boost the nanomachines to heal at a rate of 1hp and 4stamina/10s increasing the healing thresshold to 70% of your max. the spray can be used any number ot times but if used more than once per rest it can cause an adiction that makes the healing interval 25s and halves your highest attribute when you dont use the spray from 2 there is also a priest spell that heals 10% of your hp in exchange for reducing your max stamina by 10% (if used at max hp. it raises max hp by 10% as temporary hit points like the aid spell from DnD). the original values are restored on rest

Which of these Star Wars games are any good?
teknoman2 replied to Althernai's topic in Computer and Console
dark forces, jedi knight, jedi outcast, jedi academy are great fps games with outcast being the best. the first 3 have the same protagonist, in the last he is there as the protagonist's teacher. except for the first, in the rest you get to play as a jedi republic commando is also a great tactical fps game set in the clone wars period where you lead a squad of storm troopers the 2 force unleashed are "decent". they have an interesting story with some cute ideas for gameplay mechanics that they do not use at their max potential. if you are a hardcore fan and care mostly for the story you can get them (they should be dirt cheap now). Battlefront is like Battlefield and is pretty old. better wait for battlefront 3 if you are interested Epmire at war, is a classic strategy game like age of empires or red alert. i havent played it myself, but i remember that everyone said it was good -
ok i had my first game in the hardline beta the graphics were pretty poor but they probably did not include the higher quality stuff, still worse than the BF4 beta and nowhere near as good as what seen in closed beta gameplay videos rubberbanding all game long i saw my bullet hit his head, i got a body shot. i aimed at his leg, i got a headshot. the netcode seems to be worse than ever when you die it shows how many hits you took and where... the 1 shot kills in the arm from early BF4 are back with my PC at that graphic quality, i would expect something more than 25fps after every death, i had to click on DEPLOY 3 to 5 times before it got me in the game. when i tried to jump over something, 3/4 of the time i had to press space 2 or 3 times it loaded really fast though. the first time it took about 35s and then less than 10s at map change and to conclude, when i clicked on EXIT GAME i got a BSOD well, as long as the game requires to be launched from the battlelog site and has no in game server browser i had no intention of getting it. now that i ve seen the state it is in i would not even reccomend it to an enemy. and before somebody says "its a beta most will be fixed at release", i have to remind you that BF4 had mostly the same problems in beta and they still havent fixed them

Lets not Ugh...leave that kiddie HS crap for JRPG territory. I facepalm/cringe every time I hear Chris bring that up. He needs to put that one to rest for good. dont they have that in a way? its almost like south park there is a way to satisfy most of these needs without having to start a new ip pillars of eternity 2, set 200 years in the future in a steampunk world with a western feel to it (like wild wild west for example) pillars of eternity 3, set 500 years after 2. space pirates mixed in a war between the humans, elf, orlan etc with an alien race for control of a planet that does not belong to either of them

im downloading BF hardline beta. let's see if it's any good i was thinking though, that EA wastes a good opportunity for almost free publicity in the BF series. you see, the single player part of BF3 and 4 were less than 5% of what the game had to offer. if they made the single player of these games free, it would double both as a benchmark for their engine, so people would know if and how well their pc runs the game and it would attract a crowd of potential customers

come to think of it, i noticed a really annoying thing that was present in arkham asylum/city/origins and in lords of shadow 1 and 2 and is probably in many other games like them. the forced backtracking disguised as exploration! what i mean is: in all these games there were locations within maps (with something to collect in them) that were simply unreachable with the current power ups you had when you got there the first time. so you had to remember them, keep playing and once you had unlocked that little extra move that you needed, you could go back to that map and re-explore it to get to these areas and find the hidden stuff. i find it a very unimaginative and lazy way to increase the longevity of a game.

was he directly involved in BE or were they just using his name for the title? something like Clive Barker's Jericho, that had nothing to do with Clive Barker besides using his books for inspiration

Character Race
teknoman2 replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Human or Human-Godlike, depending on what the godlikes are like. as for short stuff, i make one when i play something like IWD where i can make a party of 6. a halfling makes for a great thief and a dwarf is great for fighter -
i started "castlevania lords of shadow 2". if not for the free camera, it is identical to the first game. when im done with it, i will go back to wasteland 2 that i had left for later after a few hours because of a bug that is now patched (the bug with AI having sometimes 2x or 3x more AP than it should)
