  1. I don't know if this question can be anwered until the main game comes out and we can see how things fit together. Remember though that Throne of Bhaal contained a new area (Watcher's Keep) that could be played during the SOA campaign as well as the post-game campaign about the Five.
  2. I think as some kind of New Game + style bonus you should be able to edit companions class/stats/appearance/possibly race. Maybe only unlock that ability if you have used that companion for the majority of the previous playthrough.
  3. Hey, your guess is as good as mine. No, no... you can't admit that you were guessing; that spoils the fun!
  4. A post celebration announcement already? It seems the stories of drunken revelry I've heard were greatly exaggerated...
  5. Honestly the main thing that made me up my pledge was the confirmation of mod support. I support the idea of romance but am wary of the way they are implimented in pretty much every game to date. I am unwilling to give up on the idea entirely, so the ideal is that if I am unhappy with the outcome I can make that part of the game into something I like better.
  6. This had never ocurred to me, but that's true. I'm reminded of the pending release of the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. Overhaul, the studio behind the remake, realized that they weren't going to make their published release date and needed a delay. But because of agreements they had signed they needed both Atari and Wizards of the Coast (I believe) to sign off on it. By the time all of the approvals were in place to announce the delay it was less than a week before the game's originally scheduled release. The BGEE forums erupted and have been relatively empty ever since.
  7. I'm curious why when discussions of romance come up it is an unwritten assumption that only companion characters qualify. Why? Is there some compelling reason why, out of all the people in the world, the only ones you can be attracted to/are attracted to you are the ones you adventure with? Why not have have possible romances/friendships with non-companions, even non-adventurers? Maybe depending on the character background you've chosen your character is already married and/or already has children. Imagine what a difference something like that could make to characterization! Also, having the 'romance pool' include more than the 8 companions has the following benefits that may otherwise be difficult to implement: -They can have more realistic preferences. (only likes dwarves/mages/natives of a certain region etc) -Doesn't require as in-depth writing. If you aren't in a romance with them they probably wouldn't have much to do with your character anyway. -Can have plot consequences without breaking a major plot or gimping the party. (poor Heather Poe...) Note that I am NOT asking for a skyrim 'Oh, you're wearing a plot coupon? Let's get married!' That was embarassing...
  8. I don't want updates based on an arbitrary schedule. Updates should be whenever something is finished/polished/confirmed and ready to be shown, whenever that is. This would mean that we aren't in for any updates for a while unfortunately.
  9. I think there should be some kind of mechanical contraption that can only be started by kicking it 4 million times. ...what?
  10. Huge statue? Oh, you mean my paperweight? I need it to keep my TV Guide from blowing away...
  11. It depends on the individuals. If I recall correctly, some of the team behind VTM:B was so unhappy with the state the game released in that they offered to stay on to create additional patches for free.
  12. Where's Lionel Hutz? He sued the creators of the 'Neverending' Story for false advertising... I have a feeling we may have a similar case regarding this 'endless' dungeon.
  13. I think for a project of this size release date slippage will be inevitable. Yes, thanks to the increased budget more staff can be hired to create additional content. But the core group of lead designers remain the same, and unless they are willing to delegate a lot of their authority and risk losing control of the game's direction, there will be too few of them to go around to keep to the original schedule.
  14. As far as a possible PE2 goes they should take the BG route: the only thing you take with you is a pair of pants. No, not the pants you were wearing... the other pair... the ones you were supposed to wash for the guy waaaay back in chapter 2 but never got around to. Yeah, those pants.
  15. It should be played via a live steam and viewers get to dictate the playstyle.
  16. I never understood why this was such a big deal in the first place, but never let it be said that I stood in the way of a possible compromise that could please everyone. If it's possible, go for it!
  17. What's the largest RPG dungeon without randomized levels? Watcher's keep was what... 6?
  18. I think some of them should randomly be a Great Old One in disguise and instantly obliterate you if you tried.
  19. There are 3 donors who came up with $5,000 to design an enemy adventuring company. Assuming that anyone willing to put up that kind of cash also had an idea in mind when they did it, hopefully there will be (at least) 3 rival parties as creative as the Linear Guild to menace everything you do.
  20. I have always supported romances, but given the nature of this game they should probably be limited in number and kept relatively simple. Given the size/enthusiasm of the fanbase I have no doubt that modders will eventually add in enough romantic content to suit anyone's tastes, and that task will be made easier if there is exisiting code to model off of. (I think that's right... don't know much about programming personally)
  21. Upset about a game mechanic/design decision you don't agree with? I've got a three letter word for you: Emmm-oooh-dee-esss. MODS!
