Honestly it should be another Orlan if you want balanced races. Of the options you posted I would go with "another boring human" as all the rest are tired cliches. Class wise I would like to see a paladin from an Order other than Pallegina's, or a Priest of one of the less in your face gods. Like Wael or something. A character that is less "wacky" and more legitimately of questionable character without also being a blatant dbag in general like Durance.

Baby on Board
Karkarov replied to ThatUndeadLegacy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Yeap, we all know there are consequences for taking the baby with you, but have no clue what they are. So anything anyone posts in relation to baby consequences (unless they aren't talking about Eora) is just making stuff up. -
This. Not to mention in Eora we have.... blunderbuss, arquebus, and pistols. No one in their right mind would still be using throwing spears at Eora's tech level, unless they were some back water society or people with no access to anything remotely modern. As for the romans, trust me, if they had black powder weapons and crossbows they would have left their lawn darts at home.

You are forgetting it is the dev's who decided to give multi classes unique names to begin with. Also you are acting like coming up with a name takes a ton of dev time? It takes like 2 minutes. That said I would be fine if a Wizard Priest was just a "Wizard/Priest". Being able to name your class whatever you want seems silly however.

Tell you what. When Sawyer says he is going to open renaming your class period, regardless of single class or multi, to the game I will say fine whatever. But if single classes can't be renamed (and why should they be???), why should multiclasses be renamable?

No, it would be very very dumb to do so. If you are going to let me name my multiclass combo whatever I want, why can't I change fighter to "Warrior". How will I be able to tell when I am fighting a multi class character since only I have this name? Just no. If you are going to give them fancy class names they need to be consistent throughout. Either that, or don't give them fancy class names at all.

True, but at the same time with the classes all being tweaked, and the addition of subclasses, they may want to make unique talents a subclass thing. I put a question in the twitter pile for it so hopefully they offer clarification in todays stream. So hate to double post, but they asked my question about paladins and well... Sawyer basically said Paladin orders ARE the subclasses. So there will be broad differences. This also makes me think that there is no such thing as a "straight paladin" or "straight priest" potentially. Interestingly he also said priest and paladin multi classing may be restricted. Like no Bleak Walker priest of Eothas.

You still have the sidekicks, at least one Dwarf there. Also who is this second elf companion? Don't count your chickens man, that requires 5mil first. I feel like "godlike" isn't a race just a template. You are still something else too. So to drive the stake in worse it is really two godlikes, one of which is Human three, and the other Amaua two. On the positive side there is only one Orlan as well again, even though they maintained companion level.

Yeah I was looking at it earlier and Druid is the one ignored class. Between the sidekicks and companions there are... Locked in Single Class on first level- 1 Chanter 1 Cipher 1 Fighter 1 Paladin 1 Ranger 1 Rogue 2 Wizards Potential multiple class options on the first level- 1 Barbarian 1 Cipher 1 Fighter 1 Monk 1 Priest 1 Rogue Conspicuously Absent.... Druid Of course after the first level you can give them whatever you want. But this is the base line. That said if companion 8 happens, I would not be surprised if the replacement Sidekick were a Druid. Also for anyone who is curious Companion 8 is the locked in Cipher. EDIT - Sorry for all the edits changed my mind about formatting like 3 times
