  1. I opted for $20 even though over time I may change to the $35 if I'm a fan of the music samples. However I think they will experience a decreased rate of support now that the $20 option has gone. It was a smart marketing tactic to reach their minimum target quickly and garner a sense of relief, but I think it may decrease overall pledges ( price elasticity etc). Currently there are more $35 backers than there are $25. Wasteland 2 had a $15 tier and some of their tiers were like "have 5 or 10 (or 50) copies of the game". If they put more effort into their pledge reward tiers, they'll get more money.
  2. Only so much you can do with an isometric style game so I assume most of that stuff will be text based anyway.
  3. But if they're upscaled it means that you fight through them slower ... I prefer oh bunch of goblins gib gib gib gib gib next
  4. I've played all the IE games multiplayer too. But I've never finished one of them multiplayer It's hard to find people with the same dedication and schedule (I never used the Gamespy network for BG though, only AoE2).
  5. I'm actually more concerned about the reward tiers, they're not quite as good as they could be.
  6. I think it would be interesting to at least witness the rollout of firearms. I dunno if anyone has read Lian Hearn's Otori series, and I'm not saying it's the best series either, I read it when I was a teenager but it was cool how like Takeo and his province considered non-government firearms illegal and they aimed to try and take control of as much of the firearms market as they could in the event of a civil war (although they kept most of them in storage IIRC). Those sort of dynamics would be interesting to explore, the change in dynamics of combat with the rollout of gunpowder. Although depending on how magic works I guess this wouldnt matter as much.
  7. If Avellone is writing at least some of the NPCs I'm sure they'll be good.
  8. I don't want to have my controls compromised by even the prospect of a console release.
  9. RTwP generally means there will be a bunch of auto-pause options to support these slower styles of play?
  10. No I don't. But I wouldn't be disgruntled if they were and the game (and combat) was still awesome.
  11. One of the Dragon Age devs (can't remember which one) said that there was *some* level scaling in Baldur's Gate 2, but it was based on scripts, not actual monsters being tougher. I'd prefer no level scaling myself though, or at least, unnoticeable.
  12. I agree I would like a more insiders look on the game as well, but that said it's like the start of the day Monday for Obsidian. Give em a bit to get some stuff up
  13. I'd love to see some horror stuff Buuuuuuuut horror not as in the content but in the feel / emotion of a scene. That's what I think horror is all about. It doesn't need vampires, cults or ghosts I don't actually read horror myself but a good example of a horrific scene from a non-horror book would be Renly's death in GRRM's A Clash of Kings. Well written scene (and I don't mean the tv show x_x). Diablo 1 has a nice 'horror' atmosphere for an isometric style game as well.
  14. I liked the Inventory System (Not talking about the UI here FYI). I mean it wasn't perfect, but it was better than BioWare's later systems. Good. Even Better. Bad. And Bad. YMMV.
  15. I'd prefer to own the game, not a license to play it.
  16. The lack of the $20 tier is going to slow things down a bit I think.
