  1. Actually I kinda really , really like the idea, but only when it comes to him/her being mainly a rival, it would allow to have big political plot , and have a very personal adversary, an NPC that is created by our choice during game, who leveles up with as we progress through game, always joing side opossed to us. It really opens number of interesting possibilites, and I always love games that have some sort of NPC or Group that feels like they have their own story, a second hero ,that shows that the world isn't centered around our character.
  2. It all depends on a typo of villain do we need, I actually would like to go to either one of two extremes, either very personal villain, a guy that had his own adventure, a game who himself is great , something like Ulysses in F:NV or maybe Caim from Drakengard II or maybe a complitly no character , no face, just simple blue and orange morality force, that have some very specified goals, but do not tell does goals just acts to acomplish them and heroes must learn them themselves( of course then things like taking over the world obviously need to get out) I remember code lyoko, from when I was younger and for a Children show, it's Villian had some reall awesome moments when they actually utilized this things
  3. I really don't think, that people want Minsc , because he was such a good comic relief, Personally when I think something like Minsc what I think of is character that isn't despertly prove how deep he is and make everything complicated, I think killer robot from KOTOR is the same thing just that he is evil, I am all for complex characters and so on but one character that isn't trying to make everything in to some sort of deep philosophical discussion, and simply goes" I want kill meatbags, so I will kill meatbags" or "This is good and helps people so I will do this" Both characters are kind of a comic relief, but their "comic reliefie" stuffs comes from the fact that they are simple, I know that peole like to say that Minsc was retarded , and supposedly this is why people found him sometimes funny, and/or annoying , but to tell truth I may have played slightly to idealistic characters, but I sometimes, caught myself on thinking that while he is very blunt he is absolutly right. To make it short. NO for Minsc in P:E YES for one character that thousen't try to make stuff complicated.
  4. One inteligent weapone ala thouse in BG, or NwN ? Why not ,whole group,of such weapones? Then we would need to think how to implmenty it to not cause situation when player will find a new talking weapon and will just go "ahgg another annoying thing what is it beuty and the beast?" For example what I would sugest is make one inteligent weapone for every weapon group, and make them part of a long quest, you kill enought people with it you get some new dialogs, you advance quest foward, weapon gets better stats, and so on and at the end of such quest you get in reward special stat boost to ability to wield that type of weapon , and special ability to use with that type of weapon
  5. Second, Klingon like blade, reminds me to much of ridculos Faeblades from Kingdoms of Amalur, I really love this game but still always when I saw them in battle I was, having and epileptic tree about how can you wield them double bladed blades, that you use in pairs. But that brings rather interesting point of having some new weird orginal weapone that is related to culture, that's why I would actually like to see some variant of double bladed sword ( made somewhat more realistic.) that would be associeted with one culture or race, it will have some major flaws but would be used because of tradition rather then because they are really are supposed to be powerfull weapones.
  6. I would like if they would make status effect actually matter in this game, and Ciphers seems like local Psychics so... What I would like to see is to make them people who can cast many curses , poisonse and status effects like this to make enemy much weaker, and later just finish him with basic attacks, by that I think they will be somewhat diffrent then typical mages
  7. I think Druids, should be complitly changed, from classic DnD example. Problem is that they are pretty much pointless, Mages are typically a massive damage dealers, clerics, are usally class of healers, with high defense, Ciphers I don't think we exactly know what will they do ( I would like if they would be status dealers, mages, can cast spells that will wreck your day , but CIphers can cast so many status effects that any attack will wreck your day. ) but they are argubly psykers of the setting and not many adventures included psykers in it. but druids appear often and rarlly do they have anything special that makes them usefull . Personally I would rather go with druids being much more combat oriented, and give them all summoning spells, with summoning being their special thing rather then something that is shared with mages.
  8. I actually kind like that idea, not to the point that it needs to be done because otherwise I won't play the game, but as some sort visual after thought it would be nice . Obviously, no anime tropes, like poping veins, just generic main portrait, plus happy , angry, and sad, that said I am not really sure how would it work, with portrait that is more realistic.
  9. But isn't it somehow unrealistic ? Entire race that decided that they should act dumb so they can fool other races, I like idea that they are inteligent but are consdier dumber, but rather then making them act I would make them race of army guys, not a bunch of savages, but rather their whole culture center around cult of army something like Prussia during reign of Frederick William I . Therefore typical orc would easily accept orders, and woudn't think to much about because it was order, and because of this they would be consider slightly dumber culture.
  10. I wonder if this isn't sligthly ridicluose idea of mine , but here it goes, what about making necromancy in game world varaint of cleric magic rather than arcane ? I say that because if you think about it you could make cleric in to something like this. Priest Focused on defense abilites, Specialised in white magic ( or white necromancy I liked that in Arcanum ) can turn( destroy) undead or/and maybe summon non-corporal undead like ghosts, and spectres. Necromancer focused on offensive abilites specialised in black necromancy can take control of undead or/and summon corporal undead like zombies and skeletons. Bascily two ways cleric can go, with necromancy being a divine magic rathern than arcane as usuall in D&D
  11. I think that summoned monster could get a small change I always found it strange in Baldurs gate that you can summon army of generic orcs, maybe it's just me but when I though about summoners I always pictured something like summoners from final fantasy , guys that summon big extraplanare beasts. Thats why maybe make summoned creatures diffrent then generic mobs and make them huge damage dealers, with high defense . To make it short rather than summoning army of monsters like goblins, orcs, etc there would be special summoned creature that would have grow in power with summoner.
  12. I will be happy if they will be something akin to the non human races from Lioneheart Legacy of the crusade
  13. And here I thought that this is some interesting thread nope, just another mcmanusaur stupid troll thread
  14. Yep, While I really liked Minsc in Baldurs gate (easily one of my more favorite characters) .I don't want to have just Minsc 2.0 I mean I want character that is quirky and that is good, but I don't want just a copy of Minsc
  15. This will probably caues my stoaning but I really do not see appeal that everone seems to have for hiper realistic weapones and armores. I mean it's a fantasy game , not medival simulator of dressing knight. I really doubt, that we will get, anything like chainmail bikini, and a little pointless, spikes, and such only makes armor more interesting to watch, for me
  16. Dude, you posted, this exact post in 4 diffrent topics, and to be honest it isn't really that much cool, or original. In fact you didn't posted anything else, so I got wonder how much, is it you trying to improve game, and how much is it forecing your idea to be made by someone else, If you want gigant tree of life than write a book or short story about it,
  17. One, thing first why bother OP? You say that because re-loading players that are honorable will gain less than thouse who reload, but P:E is supposed to be purly Single player game, no rankings , no score points, no multiplayer, if someone re-loads then really they make their expierence of game, better or worst only for themselves , it will in no way affect someone who don't reloads. And besides P:E is supposed to be homage to the rpgs of old, and in that days reloading was perfectly sound way to win, often almost mandatory
  18. Idea is okey, but I really can't stand idea that there are no good gods, Mostly because I hate idea that there are beings that are all inhearently evil, what I would prefer is that gods may start as evil but with time passing they learn that evil and hunger for power is pointless and stop with intervining with world and ultimatly join greater source. This can be taken one step more , with gods being just souls that would try to reach source by colecting and joinig with souls of thouse people that have smaller will.
  19. I don't know to what extent will gods take part in the plot, but I would love to see Mesoamerican style deities and myths but with a twist of having western styled church, you know how when missionaries came to new world, and thouse who converted interpreted saints and divine figures in their terms? Now what I mean is that use this but invert situation and let it be that western world takes on their faith
  20. Lovecraft is actually pretty much full of the undead, first thing that comes to my head would be Case of Charles Dexter Ward( Necromancy done in that style is something that I would actually like to see, but that besides) Vampires in lovecraft are more of an alien sentinet clouds of bloodsucking mist, that serves Cthuga if I remember I could get that wrong. And yeah this is something that I would like to see less, of the counts in spooky old castle with hungarian accent and play more one the undead beast, something like mix of gangrels and Tzimisce from old world of darkness
  21. Personally what I would want is white, grey and black morality, in place, there are purly evil people who do evil things just for giggles, and there are trully good people who want to help, with no ulterior motive. and between thouse two is large mass of greyish people, for example Evil warlord that want's to conquered world and rule like a tyrrant, and good king -protector who leads his people , clearly bad , and good, but people that serve him should be more greyish, soldier who serves warlord can come up from nation that doesn't have his own country and serves warlord because he was promised that by serving him his nation will get their own country, and soldier in army of good guy who is a brutal guy with bad history, Icewind dale 2 actually did really well I think, I would say maybe even better than Bladurs gate
  22. Thats true, for many the DA series has become a paradigm of how not to produce an RPG Which is in some ways a bit of a shame as DA:O had more than a few strong points and overall was decent. It was DA2 (and DA3 doesn't seem to be shaping up any better) that really brought out all the hate for the franchise and makes DA:O seem bad by association. To be fair DA 2 wasn't that bad, While I didnt like it as much as origins, I think the real problem is the fact that the game and main character looked like Bioware wanted to create backup Shepard
  23. Technicly at the begin of vampire folk tales vampires and werewolves were the same thing soo ...
