Pathfinder CRPG by Obsidian?
Milten replied to Jigawatts's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
Pathfinder is cool and stuff. But I really hope it's not going to be their next Kickstarter project. I mean announcing game with D&D setting right after making game with D&D-like setting is not really ... creative. -
And how does it contradict archetypes? Dialogue options simply can't be tailored without assumptions about PC and his social status, goals and so on.Personally I miss dramatic/arrogant options "Your existence is a one big mistake and I'm going to fix it", "I cannot be stopped, not by bunch of rags with knives for sure" because these options are usually taken by one of antagonists.

Unique Class Quests
Milten replied to penworth09's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
But class is a part of character's history. An important part. It's not like they wake up one day and say "hey, I'm 1 lvl cipher". Well, they apparently do, judging by most of the games, but still. -

People won't follow your orders because they like you. PC may be ugly dumb creature and still some paladin will follow his orders, not vice versa. There's something strange about this for me. Mass Effect was about group of exceptional individuals leaded by generic soldier (no matter the class) with bellow average intelligence. What stroked your ego exactly?

Swamps FTW. Where else you can get this awesome gray-green colour all other the place? And don't forget about fog, you shouldn't see more ten steps around so you won't get this weird feeling of moving somewhere. That swamp in Witcher has the warmest spot in my hurt. Green water, green rocks, green ghouls, repeat. Marvelous. On a serious note. Shorelines, I like shorelines.

Plot fence between PC and main antagonists, when yesterday-peasant PC eagerly searches for famous villain, but finds him (what a coincidence!) only after reaching required level. Though Obsidian did it well enough in KotOR2, when PC fled in the beginning. Heh, looks like I'll die from old age waiting for such game.

Pet Speculation
Milten replied to chisled2bone's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
An imaginary pet for Cipher. You know, Ciphers are always... special. I could suggest some fluffy little dragon, but then I'd envy those who took 50$ tier. -
I'm tired of seeing them everywhere. Either as mindless monsters or separate subculture. I won't complain if they appear in game though.

Rats need to be first quest
Milten replied to Echopeus's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
A story of Great Grinding starts with a small rat. And don't forget about rat blood. Whole party should covered in it, whole tavern. This would be quite dark-epic. -
Looks like a lot of people here haven't played NWN2, otherwise you'd get what are 'strategic elements' Obsidian is talking about. Best way to know is just play NWN2. Are you RPG fans or what? Or can you read this for example. Spoiler alert of course. http://nwn2.wikia.co.../Crossroad_Keep

Dungeon Level 11 is a reality
Milten replied to Keyrock's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Please, make it stop. I'll never finish it and there's probably going to be something interesting on last level. -
We have 11 classes so if devs try to create 11 different strongholds it will end just like BGII: few short quests and good bye. That's the problem.

Make a wish for 3.6
Milten replied to hideo kuze's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
This is madness. And cats. And Chris playing Arcanum. With cats. I'm already totally fine with existing amount of classes and teammates. And there is surely enough of 'stone' locations (aka dungeons and cities) for me. What about some expedition quest line? Fire camps under open sky, wild aggressive stuff and pioneering. BTW Will be there day/nigh cycle and weather? If not, this could be another stretch goal. -
Obsidian's Stronghold announcement sounded for me like house's next stage. PC: Chairs? Done. Alchemy table? Done. Hmm, I forgot something... Fortifications! That's it. The Party:... Actually it would be neat to start Stronghold from scratch. I don't even need traditional castle with knighthood, when some nasher tells you "you are mine mine mine hope of our kingdom". I still don't know PE lore well. Could there exist some independent village which could use some good/harsh/chaotically stupid hand? So, what I liked about CK. Being a quest giver. A nice change. Things happen without you, even more - they are solved without you. Even those 'adventurers' had some point despite their idiocity. Construction. Nice to see things that are changed by your decision and which actually play a role. Money management. I usually don't gather much money simply because I don't need it, here I got a reason to do that. Soldiers/Militia. Watch how your little army, you've trained and equipped, fights for your name (or dies because they didn't take flame potion against trolls). Good thing for a virtual ego. What I'm looking for besides things above. Three (four) main types of buildings. Social, for Stronghold inhabitants in general; Military; Personal, for team-mates and class-defined for PC, and possibly some decorative things. Maybe more interaction with civilians/soldiers. Trainings, speeches, something like this. Possibility to affect some quests if you meet requirements. For example you saved a merchant, but the road is still dangerous. If you have spare men you can assign them so merchant will surely get to destination point (that wouldn't be free of course). Sorry for the long post.
