  1. Is there anyway to get inside without killing everyone? I just want to talk.
  2. Very nice! There's definitely a shortage of cool male portraits imo.
  3. Ah, how embarassing. I just realized that I downloaded the 2,01 patch for the base game and that there is a separate one for the WM expansion if you scroll down. When I downloaded the correct one my problem was resolved. Gotta say though, the GOG patching system is a bit clunky.
  4. Been experimenting a bit more. Tried to load a save with a different character from main game area (caed nua) which works normally. Visited cragholdt with this character and there I experienced the hostile but inactive mercenarys as well as pink squares moving around as described above. When I load areas with my most recent character (stalwart, russetwood) the whole area map is completely pink and obscures the characters and backdrops but i can see the UI and submenus (character sheet, inventory). Will try to attach a save file later today.
  5. I have the same problem but the whole area map is covered with that pink stuff. Happened after i updated to 2,01. GOG version. Win 8. Tried updating my graphics drivers and loading different saves but the problem remains. Can't play the game at the moment. I haven't expeienced any big problems before this either.
  6. I absolutely love the emptiness and exploration of BG1. I sincerely hope PE will be similar and avoid the cramped feeling of most of the other crpg's I have played.
  7. BG1, IWD1 and PST. The strongest hook of all is probably the exploration part of BG1, I really hope they can expand on this in PE and make traveling into the wild an adventure in itself. All of them had great atmosphere and music. Wonderful games.
  8. Shiiiiiiiiiet son, not trying to be a **** but how long did it take you to write that? My eyes hurt.
  9. Agreed. Slightly OT but I'd say Khalid is one of the few characters in bg with personality and uniqueness, struggling to overcome his weaknesses. Minsc on the other hand... he's just stupid.
  10. Great music. Personally I'm pretty fed up with pompous choruses but apart from those parts ( ) I love it.
  11. Awesome thread. Agree with most that has been said. Especially what TrashMan so eloquently describes in his post regarding combat.
  12. Please yes. I've always longed for some sort of survival mechanic where traveling in itself is perilous. The untamed wilderness can be a magnificent character in itself. There are plenty of great examples in literature. Seasons would also be nice.
  13. I liked this in BG. It would also be nice if potential enemies reacted to your "level"/equipment/companions etc. It always breaks immersion for me when every enemy attacks my gang of heavily armed adventurers/mercenaries without second thought.
  14. This is what I'm hoping for. Warfare, famine, plague, death. The horrors of life.
  15. Agree completely. Char creation has always been one of the best parts of rpg's for me.
  16. Nice idea, but probably hard to implement in a nice way. Persecutory delusion could give your char +1 to spot enemies or something similar. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.
